We hear your heart in this and we join with you in prayer together in Jesus' name for peace and a clear next step. We understand how painful and exhausting it has been to work so hard for over a year to make a studio and a safe space for you and your two cats, only to feel that the work was not acknowledged, that your belongings have been moved or taken in secret, and that you feel unwelcomed and like a burden rather than a blessing in the house where you are staying. We also hear your decision to put the metal sheet back up over the blocking door to give your daughter peace about her cats and to lay down the assignment of trying to make the garage into a studio, and your desire now to simply pack what is yours, steward your belongings well, and move to a place of your own where you and your cats can live in peace, safety and security with a door of your own.

We want to encourage you that God sees all of your labor and it is not wasted in His eyes even when it feels wasted to you. Galatians 6:9 reminds us to not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up. And we take comfort that what feels like the enemy using something for bad, God is able to flip for good. As it is written in Genesis 50:20 you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, and in Romans 8:28 we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Every closed door you have experienced, God has seen, and we trust Him to be the one who opens the right door that no one can shut as spoken of in Revelation 3:8.

We also hear how deeply you have felt attacked, hurt, and burdened. Please know you are not a burden to God. You are fearfully and wonderfully made in Psalm 139:14, you are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works in Ephesians 2:10, and He is a Father who sets the lonely in families in Psalm 68:6. He cares about your need for a welcoming, loved and peaceful home, and He cares even for your cats, for Proverbs 12:10 says a righteous man respects the life of his animal. The Lord knows your desire for a quiet place where you are not bothering anyone and where your cats can be safe and content.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You together in the precious blood and name of Jesus Christ, thanking You that we have access to Your throne of grace only through Him. We lift up our sister and her two cats to You. Lord, You see the hurt of feeling unwelcomed, the weariness from labor that seemed to come to nothing, the anxiety over belongings being moved in secret, and the longing for a secure place to live. We ask You to be her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble in Psalm 46:1, and to be her rock and fortress when her heart is overwhelmed as in Psalm 61:2. We ask You to give her Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus in Philippians 4:7, and to let her cast all her anxiety on You because You care for her in 1 Peter 5:7.

Lord, we agree with her that this striving assignment in this house is now ended, and we ask You to close it gently and firmly. Help her to pack and sort through her belongings with clarity, energy and protection, that nothing more would be taken or moved without her knowledge, and that You would keep what is hers safe. Lead her, Father, to the better place You have for her and her cats, a place where she is welcomed, liked, loved and at peace, where she has her own door and can live securely without feeling she is a burden. We ask You to open a new door for her that no man can shut, to provide according to Your riches in glory in Philippians 4:19, and to guide her to housing that is affordable, safe, peaceful and suitable for her and her animals. We pray You would turn what the enemy meant for harm into great good for her, urgently and greatly, and give her a miracle of provision and favor. Help her to seek You first and to ask, seek and knock, trusting Your promise in Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you.

We also pray for peace in her relationship with her daughter and household, that there would be forgiveness, calm communication and mutual honor as she transitions out, and that she would rest under Your wings in Psalm 91:1. Give her wisdom for each practical step, provision for the move, and a deep assurance that she is loved and not forgotten. We thank You that You hear us because we come in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12. We entrust her future home into Your hands and ask that You establish her in a place of rest, security and joy. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to keep bringing every worry to God in prayer with thanksgiving as Philippians 4:6 teaches, and to take practical steps as God opens doors, seeking wise counsel from a local church family who can help with housing resources, packing and moving. Trust that God who sees your faithfulness will not waste it, but will use it to lead you to what is truly good and peaceful for you and your cats.

We've been praying as we read your note. It sounds exhausting to have poured so much time and money into trying to make the garage studio and catio work, only to feel it was wasted, and now to be living with belongings outside where they can be moved or taken, and feeling unwelcomed and like a burden. Of course you long for a door of your own where you and your two cats can be safe and at peace.

It makes sense that putting the metal sheet back up feels like closing an assignment that just isn't working, and choosing instead to focus your energy on getting to a more stable place. That shift from fighting to make this space work to looking for what could be next can itself bring a little clarity, even while the hurt is still fresh.

One small step that may help in this in-between time is to give that packing and sorting a gentle structure. Maybe set aside a short, timed window each day to go through one area of belongings outside, sorting into keep, move, and let go, and make a simple list of what you would need in a next place that welcomes both you and your cats. If you have a trusted person, pastor, or local housing help agency, sharing that list with them can make the search less lonely and help you learn what pet friendly options are nearby.

Father, we bring our sister and her two cats to You in Jesus name. You see her weariness and her desire for a safe, welcoming home. Give her wisdom for each next decision, protection over what she has, and peace as she waits for a new door to open. Provide for her needs in Your loving way. Amen.

We have heard your cry in this season of weariness, when the place you have labored over for more than a year has not yielded the rest you sought, and when you feel unwelcomed and as a burden rather than a blessing. To desire a door of your own, a quiet and secure home where you and your two cats may live in peace, where your belongings are safe and not moved or taken in secret, and where you are not pressed by strife, is a deep and human longing, and the Lord sees the hurt of being attacked and the ache of feeling that your time and money have been wasted.

There is a word that meets you in this very place. "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You." This is peace, peace, a perfect peace that does not depend first upon walls or doors or outward settlement, but upon being stayed upon God Himself. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, and that whisper can be heard even when sorrows are surging round and when duties press and when loved ones seem far away. Christ has left His people peace in the conscience, for peace with God is the fountain and peace in the conscience is the crystal stream which issues from it. It is a peace which God the Father gives, for He is the God of all peace, it is a peace which Jesus Christ bought, for He has made peace by His blood and He is our peace, and it is a peace which the Holy Spirit works in the soul.

We must gently distinguish, as Scripture does, between a mere lull of circumstances and true peace with God. Many cry peace, peace where there is no peace, and build upon a false foundation. The peace of the believer has a reason and a groundwork, not in our good works or our tears or our prayers, but in Christ Himself. He is our peace. If you have not yet found that reconciling peace, seek first Christ Himself, for He has made peace through the blood of His cross, and being justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Do not seek after peace first. Seek after Christ first, and peace will come next. That peace is a filling peace, a well founded peace, a sea that has no bottom nor shore, and it can keep you even while the outward door is still closed.

We join you in prayer before the throne of grace, asking in the name of Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name whereby we can be saved and no other foundation for peace between God and man.

We pray that the God of peace, who delights in peace on earth and goodwill toward men, and who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus through the blood of the everlasting covenant, would keep you in perfect peace as your mind is stayed on Him. We ask that He who turns what the enemy means for evil to good would, in His wisdom and mercy, work all things together for your good as you love Him and trust Him. We ask that He would in His perfect timing open a new door that no man can shut, a place where you are welcomed, loved, and not a burden, a safe and secure dwelling where you and your two cats may live in quietness, where you can set your belongings in order and rest without fear. We pray for your daughter, that she too may know peace concerning her cats and that the setting up of the metal sheet would give her a settled mind. We pray for your own heart, that you would not be overwhelmed by hurt, but would cast all your care upon Him who cares for you.

Bear your sorrow with Him, and see what perfect peace you will enjoy even with sorrows surging round. The Lord has endless, boundless peace within Himself, and when you have long enjoyed peace with Him you may go to Him again and say, Lord, renew my peace. I am troubled, but You are unmoved, bless me with Your peace. May that peace, which passes all understanding, guard your heart and mind through Christ Jesus. May you go in peace, for to possess the peace of God is Heaven begun below, and earths struggles shall soon cease when Jesus calls us to Heavens perfect peace.

We pray you will be led step by step, to pack and to sort and to move as the Lord provides, trusting not in your own strength but in the ever living Christ who is always our peace. May the Lord bless His people with peace, and may you find that true peace at the feet of the Prince of Peace.
