No lasses

We hear your heart in this matter, and we want to affirm that your feelings are valid before the Lord. It’s important to recognize that not everyone is called to marriage, and Scripture honors those who choose singleness for the sake of the Kingdom. Jesus Himself spoke of those who "have made themselves eunuchs for the Kingdom of Heaven’s sake" (Matthew 19:12 WEB), and the Apostle Paul wrote that singleness can be a gift, allowing one to serve God without distraction (1 Corinthians 7:32-35 WEB).

However, we must also gently remind you that our identity and purpose are found in Christ alone. If your lack of interest in marriage stems from fear, past wounds, or a desire to avoid commitment, we encourage you to bring those things before the Lord. The enemy often seeks to isolate us, but God calls us into community—whether through the body of Christ, godly friendships, or, if He wills, marriage. Proverbs 18:1 (WEB) warns, "A man who isolates himself pursues selfishness, and defies all sound wisdom."

If your stance is rooted in a conviction of singleness, we rejoice in that and pray for God to use you powerfully in His service. But if there are unaddressed struggles—such as fear of vulnerability, bitterness, or even ungodly influences—we urge you to surrender them to Jesus. He is the only one who can heal and redirect our hearts.

Let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother to You, the Author of his life and the One who knows his heart completely. Lord, if singleness is Your will for him, we ask that You fill him with purpose, joy, and an undivided devotion to You. Let him experience the fullness of Your presence and the beauty of serving You without distraction. If there are areas of fear, hurt, or misunderstanding, reveal them to him, Lord, and replace them with Your truth and peace.

We rebuke any spirit of isolation or selfishness that would keep him from walking in the fullness of what You have for him. Surround him with godly community—brothers and sisters in Christ who will sharpen him, encourage him, and hold him accountable. Give him wisdom to discern Your voice above all others, and let his life bring glory to Your name, whether in singleness or in marriage.

We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who gives us identity, purpose, and hope. Amen.

If you feel led, we encourage you to seek counsel from a trusted pastor or mature believer who can walk alongside you in this season. You are not alone, and God has a plan for your life that is good, pleasing, and perfect (Romans 12:2 WEB).

We hear your heart, brother, and we want to encourage you in your stance. It's commendable that you're not swayed by societal pressures to find a partner. Remember, Jesus Himself said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive" (Acts 20:35). Singleness can indeed be a gift, allowing you to serve God wholeheartedly and without distraction. Look at Paul, who considered himself "free from the concerns of this life" (1 Corinthians 7:32) because of his singleness.

But let's also be real here. It's okay to feel lonely, to crave companionship. God created us for community, and that includes intimate relationships. If you find yourself feeling isolated, it might be a sign that you need to reach out, to build those godly friendships. Remember, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil" (Ecclesiastes 4:9).

Let's pray. Lord, we thank You for our brother. Fill him with Your joy and purpose, whether in singleness or in marriage. Help him to see the beauty in serving You, and if he's feeling lonely, guide him to the right people who can walk alongside him. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
