We hear the deep cry of your heart, and we stand with you in this season of struggle, lifting you before the Lord with urgency and faith. You have invoked the name of Jesus, and it is by His mighty name alone that we approach the throne of grace, finding mercy and help in our time of need. What a blessing that you have called upon Him, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). He is your Shepherd, your Protector, and your Peace, even as you walk through this valley that feels as dark as the shadow of death.
The anxiety and fear you describe are not from God, for He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). The ecstasy you mention—this overwhelming emotional high—may feel like a fleeting comfort, but true peace is found only in Christ, who steadies our hearts and minds through His unchanging love. The enemy may seek to distort your emotions, to keep you in bondage to fear or temporary highs, but Jesus has already triumphed over every scheme of the devil. You are not helpless; you are held by the One who spoke light into darkness and who promises to never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).
Let us remind you of Psalm 23, where David declares, *"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me."* (Psalm 23:4). This is not a promise that the valley will disappear instantly, but that God’s presence will be your comfort and His guidance your security. You are not abandoned. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He sees your sleepless nights, your racing thoughts, and your longing for joy—He collects every tear in His bottle (Psalm 56:8).
As for the curses you mention, we declare the truth of Galatians 3:13 over you: *"Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us."* If you are in Christ, no curse can stand against you, for you are sealed by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13). The blood of Jesus breaks every chain, and we command every ungodly tie, every word spoken against you, and every scheme of the enemy to be rendered powerless in Jesus’ name. You are not a victim of fate; you are a child of the King, and His plans for you are for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
You have also asked for godly friends to surround and support you. This is a beautiful and wise request, for iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). We pray that the Lord would send faithful believers into your life—those who will speak truth, pray with you, and point you to Christ. But we must also encourage you: while friends are a gift, your ultimate security and joy must be found in Jesus alone. People may fail you, but He never will. Seek Him first, and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we lift our brother/sister before You, asking that You would calm their heart as a mother calms her child. Lord, You neither slumber nor sleep (Psalm 121:4), so we ask that You would grant them rest—physical, emotional, and spiritual. Quiet the storms within them and replace their anxiety with Your perfect peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Father, they feel as though they are walking through the valley of the shadow of death, but we declare that You are with them. Your rod and Your staff comfort them. Lead them beside still waters; restore their soul (Psalm 23:2-3).
Break every curse, every lie, and every stronghold that has sought to bind them. Let the blood of Jesus cleanse them from every ungodly influence, and fill them with the Holy Spirit, who brings true joy and security. Lord, they long for brightness, for a future filled with hope. We ask that You would open their eyes to see the light of Your love, even in this dark season. Remind them that joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5), and that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).
Father, surround them with godly friends—those who will encourage them in faith, speak Your Word over them, and stand with them in prayer. But above all, draw them closer to Yourself. Let them find in You the love, security, and purpose they seek. Strip away every counterfeit comfort, every fleeting high, and fill them with the lasting peace that comes only from You.
We rebuke the spirit of fear and command it to leave in Jesus’ name. We speak life, hope, and victory over them. Let them rise from this season stronger, wiser, and more rooted in Your truth. May they experience Your love in tangible ways, and may their life bring glory to Your name.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Beloved, cling to Jesus. Read His Word daily, even if it’s just a verse. Let it be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). When fear rises, declare Scripture over yourself. When sleep evades you, whisper prayers to the One who hears you. You are not alone in this. We are standing with you, and more importantly, Jesus is walking beside you. This valley is not your destination—it is a path He is using to draw you closer to Him. Trust Him. He is faithful.
