Beloved of All
I’m having nightmares because doors keep closing. Job door closed. Job applications have been paused/closed when I check the status. Applied for govt assistance and want to get off of it asap. Worried about my housing. Most orgs are overwhelmed right now with a high volume of people seeking assistance. Father I’m not sure what else I can do. Been struggling, pushing and striving to get work. Today I went outside for a walk and random people bothered me. This place is getting from bad to worse. I don’t fit in anywhere. I’m know that I’m not the only one who feels this way. Most of us just want to do our work, run our errands and enjoy the fresh air without being bombarded by evil people. Father in Jesus name can you straighten this out?

We hear the deep distress in your heart, and we want you to know that you are not alone in this struggle. The weight of closed doors, financial uncertainty, and the feeling of not belonging can be overwhelming, but we serve a God who sees your plight and promises to never leave nor forsake you. You have called upon the name of Jesus, and that is where your hope lies—for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and through which we can boldly approach the throne of grace (Acts 4:12, Hebrews 4:16). We commend you for seeking Him in this time, and we join you in lifting this burden to the Lord, trusting that He will provide, sustain, and guide you through this season.

The nightmares you’re experiencing are a reflection of the spiritual and emotional toll this season has taken on you. Doors closing can feel like rejection, but we must remember that our God is the One who opens doors that no man can shut—and shuts doors that no man can open (Revelation 3:7-8). Sometimes, closed doors are His protection, redirecting us toward His perfect will rather than what we might assume is best. Proverbs 16:9 reminds us, *"A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps."* Even when the path seems unclear, He is ordering your steps, and His timing is perfect. Your job applications may be paused, but that does not mean His provision is. He is the God who fed Elijah by the brook Cherith and later through a widow’s last meal (1 Kings 17). He is the same God who will provide for you, even when the world’s systems seem to fail.

Your desire to get off government assistance is honorable. Scripture teaches us that if a man does not work, he should not eat (2 Thessalonians 3:10), and we are to provide for ourselves and our households with diligence. However, in this season of waiting, do not let shame or frustration overtake you. God uses even these temporary means to sustain you, and He will open the door to honest, dignified work in His time. Keep seeking opportunities, but also surrender the outcome to Him. Psalm 37:5 says, *"Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will act."* He sees your effort, and He will reward your faithfulness.

The harassment you faced during your walk is a painful reminder that we live in a broken world, where evil often feels pervasive. But take heart—Jesus warned us that in this world we would have trouble, but He has overcome the world (John 16:33). You do not belong to this world’s chaos; you belong to Christ. When you feel out of place, remember that you are a citizen of heaven (Philippians 3:20), and your true home is with Him. The discomfort you feel is a sign that your heart is not anchored here, and that is a good thing. As for the evil you encounter, we are called to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves (Matthew 10:16). Pray for discernment and protection, and ask the Lord to surround you with His peace as you go about your day. Psalm 91 is a powerful reminder of His covering over those who trust in Him.

Now, let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift our brother/sister before You, knowing that You are a God who hears the cries of Your children. Lord, the nightmares and closed doors have left them feeling trapped and weary, but we declare that You are the God who makes a way where there seems to be no way. You are the door-opener, the provider, and the protector. We ask that You calm their mind and heart, replacing fear with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). Remove the nightmares and replace them with visions of Your faithfulness and hope.

Father, we pray for divine connections and opportunities for work. Open the doors that You have ordained, and shut the ones that are not for their good. Give them favor in the eyes of those who can offer employment, and let their resume and efforts stand out for Your glory. Provide for their housing needs, Lord. You know the exact amount required, and we trust You to supply it, whether through unexpected sources, a sudden job offer, or creative means. Help them to steward whatever You provide with wisdom and gratitude.

We rebuke the spirit of harassment and evil that has sought to disturb their peace. Lord, place a hedge of protection around them as they go out. Let Your angels encamp around them (Psalm 34:7), and let no weapon formed against them prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Give them discernment to recognize danger and wisdom to avoid it. Let them walk in the confidence that they are Your beloved child, and no scheme of the enemy will prevail against them.

Father, we also pray for their heart in this season of waiting. Strengthen their faith and remind them that delay is not denial. You are working behind the scenes, aligning everything for their good and Your glory. Help them to rest in Your sovereignty, even when the world feels unstable. Let them find comfort in Your Word and in the community of believers You have placed around them.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You show them their purpose in this time. Use this season to draw them closer to You, to refine their trust, and to prepare them for what lies ahead. Let them not grow bitter but better—rooted in Your love and unwavering in their hope.

We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Brother/sister, we encourage you to keep seeking the Lord daily. Spend time in His Word, especially the Psalms, which are filled with cries of distress turned into praises of deliverance. Surround yourself with worship music that lifts your spirit, and if possible, connect with a local body of believers who can pray with you and offer support. You are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. The God who parts the Red Sea and calms the stormy waves is the same God who is fighting for you today. Stand firm, and watch what He will do. He is faithful.

We're right there with you, friend. It's tough when doors keep closing, especially when it feels like everything's on hold. But remember, God's in control, even when we can't see the path ahead. He's the one who opens and closes doors, and He's got a plan in all this. Let's trust that He's working behind the scenes, even when it's hard to see.

We know the nightmares are tough, but let's replace those scary dreams with visions of God's faithfulness. He's seen you through tough times before, and He'll do it again. Let's pray that He'll give you peace, calm your mind, and fill you with hope.

We're also praying for job opportunities to come your way. Let's ask God to open the right doors, give you favor, and provide for your housing needs. We trust that He'll supply what you need, whether it's through a job offer, unexpected sources, or creative means.

And let's not forget, God's got you protected. We're asking Him to place a hedge of protection around you, send His angels to encamp around you, and give you discernment to recognize danger and wisdom to avoid it.

While you're waiting, let's pray that God will strengthen your faith, remind you of His love, and help you rest in His sovereignty. Let's ask Him to use this time to draw you closer to Him, refine your trust, and prepare you for what's ahead.

Keep seeking Him daily, spend time in His Word, and surround yourself with worship music. You're not alone, and God's not finished with you yet. He's got great things in store! Let's trust and believe that together.
