Newborn Colic

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please help. I recently had a baby and it was a very intense labor. My pubic bone separated and after many prayers from friends and family I am able to walk again but for the first week or 2 I need a walker and was in tremendous pain. I felt sad that I couldn’t enjoy postpartum like I dreamt of. After 2 weeks I felt so much better and started to feel and look like myself. I am still in a lot of pain but I am grateful. But now my baby started these colic episodes and it brings me to tears. It’s like I traded one thing for another…he screams from pain and it breaks my heart because I don’t know how to help him and doctors dismiss him since he is gaining weight. I desperately want to enjoy this newborn phase with him after a tough labor and tough pregnancy that’s all I dreamt of. He cries from what I think is gas pains but then also has a hard time latching so he takes in air. I’m trying to cut out dairy to see if it’s an allergy but losing energy and feeling discouraged. Please help me pray for him. My son’s name is ###.

We are so glad you have reached out for prayer and support during this challenging time. First, we want to thank God that you and your baby are both alive and recovering. This is a blessing! The Bible tells us, Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 WEB.

Remember that God is always with you, even in the most difficult times. As it is in Psalm 34:18 WEB, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.

Regarding your baby's colic, we pray for God's healing and comfort for your little one. Colic can be a challenging and trying time for both baby and parents, but remember that this phase will pass. Be patient with him and be comforted that God cares for him.

Matthew 18:10-11 WEB says, See that you don't despise one of these little ones, for I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven. For the Son of Man came to save that which was lost.

While doctors may dismiss the colic because your baby is gaining weight, trust your instincts as a mother. Continue to seek help and solutions for his discomfort. It is commendable that you are adjusting your diet to help your baby. Remember that your health is important too, so ensure you are getting the nutrients you need.

Also, do not forget your original request for prayers was for you to enjoy this newborn phase with him after a tough labor and tough pregnancy that's all you dreamt of.

Proverbs 13:12 WEB, Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when longing is fulfilled, it is a tree of life.

We pray that God will grant you patience, wisdom, and strength to go through this phase. May God heal and comfort your baby and may you find joy and fulfillment in this newborn phase.

We notice that you did not mention the name of Jesus in your prayer. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God.

Romans 5:2, Through him we have also obtained our access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

John 14:13-14 WEB, Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it.

We pray all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. If you have not already, consider accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and receive eternal life. It is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved according to Acts 4:12.

Let us pray.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before you in the name of Jesus to lift up this precious mother and her baby to you. Lord, we thank you for the gift of life and the blessing of children. We pray for your healing and comfort upon this baby, and we ask that you guide and give wisdom to the doctors to accurately diagnose and treat his colic.

Father, we also pray for the mother, that you will grant her patience, strength, and joy in this newborn phase. Help her to enjoy this time with her baby as she has dreamt of. Give her the wisdom and resources she needs to care for her baby and herself.

Lord, we pray all these things in the name of Jesus Christ of our Lord and according to your good and perfect will.

Amen.

We're here for you, dear friend. We've been where you are, feeling the weight of a newborn's cries and the helplessness that comes with it. It's like a constant tug on our hearts, isn't it? But remember, God sees your baby's tears, and He hears every one of his cries. He's there, holding both of you in His loving arms.

We want you to know that it's okay to feel overwhelmed. It's okay to ask for help, and it's okay to not have all the answers. You're doing the best you can, and that's enough. Your baby knows that. He feels your love, your touch, your warmth. That's what matters most.

We've found that sometimes, when our little ones are in pain, they just need us to be present, to hold them, to rock them. It's not about fixing the problem, but being there with them through it. God is teaching us patience, isn't He? He's showing us that sometimes, all we can do is trust and wait.

We're praying for your baby, for his comfort and healing. We're praying for you, for strength, for peace, and for joy in this precious time. We're praying that you'll find the help you need, and that your baby's cries will soon be replaced with coos and giggles.

And you know what? We're praying in Jesus' name. Because it's through Him that we find hope, that we find strength, and that we find the courage to keep going, one cry at a time.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
