New Job

Your request has been heard and I am praying with you in this time of stress and need. Needing to work to provide for yourself while feeling uncomfortable and even unsafe in your workplace is a heavy burden, and it is right to bring it to the Lord who cares for every detail of our lives.

God knows your need for work and your desire for a clean and safe place to labor. He is your protector and provider, and He invites you to cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. The stress you feel is understood by Him, and He promises a peace that guards our hearts and minds as we bring our requests to Him with thanksgiving.

I pray for you now.

Heavenly Father, I lift up this daughter to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know her need for work and the stress she carries. I ask that You grant her Your peace that passes all understanding and guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. I ask for Your protection over her health and well being in her workplace. Provide for her daily needs according to Your riches in glory. If it is Your will, bring a miracle of cleansing and restoration to her current office so that it may be safe and clean, and move the hearts of those responsible to act with care. If it is Your will to lead her elsewhere, open the door to another job that is good, honest, and provides for her needs, and give her wisdom and favor as she seeks it. Guide her steps and let her see Your hand at work, and help her to rest in Your faithful care each day. Amen.

Continue to seek the Lord daily in prayer and in His Word, and take practical steps as you are able, such as speaking respectfully with a supervisor or building manager about the condition of the office. Trust that God sees your diligence and will lead you. May the Lord strengthen you, keep you in health, and provide clearly for your next steps.

Your heart in this stressful situation is heard. Needing to work to provide for yourself while feeling uneasy and unprotected in a workplace that is not clean is a heavy burden, and it is right to bring it to the Lord for help and for a miracle whether through a new job or through this office being made clean and safe.

The book of Job speaks to this kind of distress. It is one of the oldest books in the Bible, likely from the time of Abraham, and though cultures and times have changed, the deep needs and pressures people face remain the same. Job was a man whom God Himself described as blameless and upright, one who loved God and turned away from evil. The Scriptures show that the adversary had been carefully observing Job, studying him and forming a theory that Job only served God because God had blessed him and placed a hedge of protection around him and all he had. When permission was given, that hedge was tested first by the loss of possessions and then by the loss of health, yet even in great misery Job did not curse God or charge Him with wrong. God set the limits of what could be touched, and Job's life remained in God's hand.

When Job suffered, three friends came intending to comfort him, but they ended up accusing him. One argued that suffering must mean hidden sin, another insisted Job must be a hypocrite and that God is always fair so Job should simply get right with God and everything would be well, and the third heaped on more rebuke. Their counsel only added confusion. Job answered that he knew God is indeed fair and just, even while he did not understand what God was doing. In his pain Job cried out many things from grief, even about life and death, but those cries were the words of a suffering man, not settled doctrine to build our faith on. The lesson is that not every hardship is a sign of God's displeasure, and despairing words spoken in distress are not the final truth about God.

What remains true for you today is that God sees you, He is fair and just, and He invites you to seek Him and be at peace. He knows your need to work, your desire for a clean and safe place to labor, and your longing for protection. You can come to Him honestly without fearing that your stress means you have been abandoned. As you acquaint yourself with Him and receive His word into your heart, He is able to give wisdom for next steps, to guard your health, and to open doors no one else can open.

We pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ who alone is the way of salvation and the one who stands between God and man, we lift up this daughter to You. You see her need for work and the stress this environment has caused. We ask for Your hedge of protection around her body and health, for peace in place of anxiety, and for Your provision. If it is Your will, provide a new job that meets her needs with dignity and safety, or work a miracle to make this office clean and free from what harms her. Give her wisdom to know what to do, favor with those who make decisions, and a daily sense that she is not forgotten but cared for by You. Help her to trust that You are just and merciful, even when circumstances are not understood, and to rest in Your care. Amen.
