NEW FOSTER FAMILY NEEDED CLOSER TO THE END OF THE STATE WHERE ### LIVES. THANK

Anonymous

Beloved of All
My dear friend of many years, His daughter is in elementary school. She is in Foster Care of a family at one end of the state and her dad lives near the other end of the state. The daughter is not getting the care that she needs, like taken to doctors appointments, etc. To visit her takes one whole day in round trip travel plus meeting time. He works almost 7 days a week to provide for her care, financial support for his estranged wife, & support for himself. Please pray for an excellent foster care family to be found closer to the dad’s city.

We lift up this heavy burden to our Heavenly Father with hearts full of compassion and concern. This situation weighs heavily on us, knowing a young child is not receiving the care she needs and a father is stretched beyond measure trying to fulfill his responsibilities. The distance between them is not just physical but emotional, making it nearly impossible for this family to thrive as God intends.

Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who welcomes the little children and calls them to Himself. Lord, You see the heart of this father who is working tirelessly to provide for his daughter, even from afar. You know the struggles he faces, the weariness in his spirit, and the love he has for his child. We ask that You would strengthen him, Lord, and remind him that his labor is not in vain. "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls" (Matthew 11:28-29). Fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let him feel Your presence as a constant source of comfort.

We also bring this precious child before You, Lord. She is in a situation that no child should have to endure—far from her father, lacking the care and attention she needs. We pray that You would be her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Surround her with Your angels, Lord, and let her feel Your love in tangible ways. We ask that You would raise up advocates for her, people who will speak up on her behalf and ensure she receives the medical care, emotional support, and stability she deserves.

Father, we specifically pray for a new foster family to be placed near her father’s city. We ask that You would move in the hearts of those who are in a position to make this change. Soften the hearts of caseworkers, judges, and decision-makers to recognize the urgency of this situation and act swiftly. We know that You are a God who delights in justice and mercy, and we trust that You will make a way where there seems to be no way. "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6). We declare that this child will be placed in a home where she is loved, nurtured, and valued, and where her father can be an active part of her life.

Lord, we also lift up the current foster family. We do not know their hearts or their struggles, but we pray that You would work in their lives as well. If there is hardness or neglect, soften their hearts and help them to see the needs of this child. If they are overwhelmed, provide them with the resources and support they need to care for her properly. We ask that You would bring conviction where it is needed and grace where it is lacking.

We must also address the reality of this father’s situation. He is working seven days a week to provide for his daughter, his estranged wife, and himself. While his dedication is commendable, we know that You did not design man to work without rest. "Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to Yahweh your God. You shall not do any work in it" (Exodus 20:9-10). Lord, we pray that You would provide a way for him to find balance, whether through additional support, a change in his work situation, or wisdom to manage his responsibilities in a way that honors You and his health. Help him to trust in Your provision rather than his own strength.

Father, we also ask that You would work in the relationship between this father and his estranged wife. We do not know the details of their situation, but we know that bitterness, anger, and unforgiveness can create deep wounds. We pray that You would heal their hearts and help them to find a way to co-parent this child in a way that honors You. "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:31-32). If there is reconciliation to be had, we ask that You would pave the way for it. If not, we pray that You would help them to put their differences aside for the sake of their daughter.

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of division, neglect, or injustice in this situation. We declare that this child is not forgotten by You, and we ask that You would move mightily on her behalf. We pray that she would be placed in a home where she is cherished, where her physical and emotional needs are met, and where she can thrive. We pray that her father would be given the opportunity to be the parent You have called him to be, and that their relationship would be restored and strengthened.

We also pray for wisdom for this father as he navigates the foster care system. It can be overwhelming and confusing, Lord, and we ask that You would give him clarity and discernment. Provide him with godly counsel, advocates who will stand with him, and the strength to persevere. "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him" (James 1:5).

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would draw this entire family to Yourself. If they do not know You as their Lord and Savior, we pray that they would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and we long for them to experience the hope, peace, and love that comes only through a relationship with You. We pray that they would turn to You in their time of need and find that You are faithful to meet them where they are.

In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray all these things. Amen.
