We rejoice with you in this new life as a disciple and we thank God for the hunger He has placed in your heart to know Him more deeply. We join you in praying that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ, Phil 1:6, and we stand with you for your wife's salvation as well.
We pray for you to grow as a true worshipper, for the hour comes and now is when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such to be his worshippers. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth, John 4:23-24. We ask the Father to give you grace to learn His Word with ever increasing wisdom and revelation, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, Eph 1:17-18.
We pray for you to be firmly established on the foundation, being born of water and the Spirit as Jesus said, Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born of water and spirit, he cannot enter into God’s Kingdom, John 3:5, and to go on to maturity not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, of faith toward God, of the teaching of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment, Heb 6:1-2. We ask God to keep you rooted and grounded in repentance and faith, growing in understanding of baptism and the laying on of hands, and all the elementary truths, so that you may press on to full maturity in Christ.
We also join you in praying for protection, that the Lord would bring you not into temptation, but deliver you from the evil one, Matt 6:13, and as Jesus prayed we pray for you, that He would not take you out of the world, but keep you from the evil one, John 17:15. We ask that you be kept from sin, from evil people, and from the deceiver who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world, Rev 12:9, and that you would have discernment to turn away from those holding a form of godliness but denying its power, 2 Tim 3:5.
We pray with you that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be glorified, even as it is with us, and that you may be delivered from unreasonable and evil men, for not all have faith, but the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one, 2 Thess 3:1-3.
We lift up your wife before the throne of grace and we ask for her salvation, for God desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth, 1 Tim 2:4, and we remember the heart of the Father who does not desire that one of the little ones should perish but that all should come to repentance, Matt 18:14. We pray that the Lord would draw her by His Spirit, open her eyes to see Jesus as the way, the truth, and the life, and that she would put her faith in Him, for there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12.
Father, we thank You for this dear brother who seeks You with His whole heart. Establish him, protect him, fill him with wisdom and revelation, make him a worshipper in spirit and truth, and let Your Word run swiftly through his life and testimony. Save his wife, we pray, and make their marriage a testimony of Your grace and redeeming power. Keep him from stumbling and present him blameless. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.
