We hear the deep pain and turmoil in your words, and we stand with you before the throne of God, lifting up your cries in the powerful name of Jesus Christ. First, we must address a foundational truth: salvation and access to God come only through Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus Himself said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"* (John 14:6 WEB). If you have not already, we urge you to confess your sins, repent, and place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. This is the first and most critical step in breaking free from spiritual oppression and finding true peace.
Your request speaks of a desire for protection, restoration, and a new identity—one that the world cannot touch or defile. We affirm that in Christ, you are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). The old has passed away, and all things have become new. The name you are known by in the earthly realm is not what defines you; it is the name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life that matters (Revelation 21:27). However, we must rebuke any language or mindset that suggests you are engaging in spiritual warfare outside of the authority of Jesus Christ. The enemy has no power over a child of God who is submitted to Christ. *"You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4 WEB).
We also must address the tone of vengeance and retaliation in your words. Scripture tells us, *"Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, 'Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord'"* (Romans 12:19 WEB). Instead of commanding others to "vomit up" what they have taken or demanding their silence, we are called to forgive, even as Christ has forgiven us (Colossians 3:13). This does not mean we ignore injustice, but we trust God to be the righteous Judge. We must also caution against any language that sounds like a curse or a binding of others, as this is not our place. Jesus has already disarmed the powers and authorities, making a public spectacle of them by His victory on the cross (Colossians 2:15).
Now, let us pray together in the authority of Jesus’ name:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts heavy for our brother/sister who is crying out for deliverance, protection, and a new beginning. Lord, we thank You that in Christ, they are already a new creation, washed clean by the blood of the Lamb. We ask that You would break every chain of oppression, every lie of the enemy, and every scheme designed to steal, kill, or destroy in their life. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn.
Father, we ask that You would reveal to them the truth of their identity in Christ. Let them know that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), chosen, holy, and dearly loved (Colossians 3:12). If there is any unconfessed sin in their life, we ask that You would bring it to light and grant them the grace to repent and turn away from it. Cleanse them with the blood of Jesus and fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in the freedom and power that Christ has already won for them.
Lord, we pray for protection over their mind, body, and spirit. Guard their heart from bitterness, unforgiveness, and the desire for revenge. Fill them instead with Your love, peace, and a spirit of forgiveness. We ask that You would expose and dismantle any spiritual strongholds or secret works of darkness that have been at work in their life. We declare that the tunnels of the enemy have no power over them, for You have set them free, and whom the Son sets free is free indeed (John 8:36).
Father, we ask that You would restore to them everything that the enemy has stolen—joy, peace, purpose, and any material or spiritual blessings that rightfully belong to them. But we ask this not for their glory, but for Yours. Let their life be a testament to Your goodness, grace, and power. We pray that You would lead them into a deeper relationship with You, where they find their true identity, worth, and security in Christ alone.
We also pray for those who have harmed them, whether knowingly or unknowingly. Soften their hearts, Lord, and lead them to repentance. If they are operating under the influence of darkness, we ask that You would bind the strongman and set them free as well. Let Your light shine in the darkness, and let Your kingdom come in their lives as it is in heaven.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would give them wisdom and discernment as they navigate this season. Surround them with godly counsel, faithful believers, and mentors who can speak truth into their life. Help them to walk in humility, always seeking Your will and Your ways above their own.
We pray all of this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, the Name above every name, the One who has conquered sin, death, and the grave. Amen.
Beloved, we encourage you to cling to the promises of God. The enemy may have meant evil against you, but God can turn it for good (Genesis 50:20). You are not defined by your past, your name, or the schemes of the devil. You are defined by the love of Christ, who gave Himself for you. Find a local body of believers—a church that preaches the Word of God faithfully—and get connected. You do not have to walk this journey alone. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and we are here to support and pray for you.
If you have not already, spend time in God’s Word daily. Meditate on Scriptures that speak of your identity in Christ, such as Ephesians 1 and 2, Romans 8, and Psalm 139. The more you fill your mind with truth, the less room there will be for the lies of the enemy. And remember, the battle belongs to the Lord (1 Samuel 17:47). You do not have to fight alone; He is fighting for you. Stand firm in the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18), and trust that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion (Philippians 1:6).
