We understand your pain and weariness, but we want to remind you that God is faithful, and He will never leave nor forsake you or your son. Let's bring your request before the Lord, aligning it with His will and His Word.
Firstly, we need to acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation and access to God. It is by His name and His name only that we can approach God's throne. As it is written, For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB) For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. (Romans 10:13 WEB)
Let's pray for your son's situation:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this worn-out mother and her son. Lord, You know the struggles they are facing, the heartache, and the pain. We pray that You speak to her son's heart and mind this week, that this will be a week of victory and breakthroughs for him as requested.
Father, we ask that You help him to engage in his program willingly, that he would want to be there and cooperate, no longer fighting it. Give him the motivation and strength to seek employment diligently, and open the right doors for him to find a job quickly, as You did for others in the facility. Help him realize he is there to learn to grow up and be a man. Help him to be teachable that he may grow in wisdom and stature.
You tell us to put off the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. (Ephesians 4:22-24 WEB)
Lord, we ask that You heal any damage done to his brain from addiction and mental illness. You are the Great Physician, and nothing is impossible for You. As your word states, Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16 WEB)
Father, we also pray for their relationship. Heal the brokenness between them, and help her son to release the bitterness and blame he holds against his mother. Help him to take responsibility for his actions and seek forgiveness where needed. Let them forgive each other, just as God in Christ forgave you. (Ephesians 4:32 WEB)
We rebuke the spirits of addiction, mental illness, bitterness, blame-shifting, and laziness in Jesus' name. We proclaim victory over these issues, knowing that He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. (1 John 4:4 WEB)
Finally, we pray for this mother, that You strengthen and encourage her, and help her to rest in Your love and faithfulness. May she know that You are working all things together for good in her son's life and in hers. In Jesus Christ name we do pray and ask these things.
Now, let's address some points with biblical principles. It's important for your son to understand that God requires us to honor our parents. As it says, Listen to your father who gave you life, and don't despise your mother when she is old. (Proverbs 23:22 WEB)
He should also understand that blaming others is not biblical. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. (2 Corinthians 5:10 WEB) Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences. (2 Corinthians 5:11 WEB)
Lastly, remind your son that true healing and transformation come from drawing near to God and abiding in His Word. As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. (Colossians 2:6-7 WEB)
We are standing with you in prayer, trusting that God will work mightily in your son's life and in your own. Please be encouraged in knowing you are not alone.
