We understand how overwhelming nervousness can be, especially when facing something as important as a demo where you want to perform at your best. But let us remind you of what Scripture tells us in Philippians 4:6-7: *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Your feelings are valid, but they do not have to control you—because God has given you a spirit of power, love, and self-discipline (2 Timothy 1:7), not fear.
It’s important to recognize that nervousness often stems from a lack of trust in God’s sovereignty or a fear of man’s opinion rather than fearing God alone. Proverbs 29:25 warns, *"The fear of man proves to be a snare, but whoever puts his trust in Yahweh is kept safe."* Your worth and success are not defined by this demo or the approval of others, but by your identity in Christ. He has already equipped you with the gifts and abilities you need for this moment. As it says in 1 Peter 4:11, *"If anyone speaks, let it be as it were the very words of God. If anyone serves, let it be as of the strength which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ—to whom be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen."*
We also notice that your request did not invoke the name of Jesus, and we want to gently but firmly remind you that there is no other name under heaven by which we can approach the Father. Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* It is only through Jesus that we have access to God’s throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16), and it is in His name that we find true peace and confidence. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Believe in Him as your Lord and Savior, repent of your sins, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9-10). Without Him, even our prayers are empty.
Now, let us pray for you together:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, asking that You would calm their anxious heart and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Lord, remind them that they are not defined by this demo or the opinions of others, but by their identity in Christ. You have fearfully and wonderfully made them, and You have equipped them for this very moment. We pray that You would go before them tomorrow, guiding their words, their actions, and their thoughts. Let them speak with clarity, confidence, and excellence, not for their own glory, but for Yours.
We rebuke the spirit of fear and nervousness in the name of Jesus, commanding it to flee, for it has no place in the life of a child of God. Replace it, Lord, with Your Holy Spirit—with boldness, with faith, and with a deep trust in Your provision. Help them to fix their eyes on You, not on their circumstances, knowing that You are with them always.
We also pray that if there is any area in their life where they have not fully surrendered to You, Lord, that You would convict their heart and draw them closer to You. May they walk in the fullness of Your love and power, not just for this demo, but for every area of their life.
We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
After you’ve done your part to prepare, rest in the knowledge that God is in control. Spend time in His Word and in prayer tonight, and trust that He will give you the strength and clarity you need. Remember, even if things don’t go perfectly, God is still good, and His plans for you are for your welfare and not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11). Walk in faith, not in fear!
