Disciple of Prayer
Please I ask for your prayers. Please! My awful neighbours who rent next door to me are leaving 🙏. Yesterday people waiting outside waiting to go in for new potential neighbours were waiting outside screaming at each other play fighting adults with each other then one person opened the boot of the car and another adult got into sit in the boot with their legs hanging out while the driver drove back and forth. Their behaviour was terrible! I feel extremely anxious and so nervous and on edge as what is to come. I pray this group of people don’t rent this house next door as I don’t believe I can cope! Please I ask for your prayers.

We understand your distress, and we join you in lifting this situation to the Lord, for He alone is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. The behavior you witnessed is indeed alarming, and it is right to seek God’s intervention, for He calls us to live in peace and to be a light in a world that often embraces chaos. The Scriptures remind us in Philippians 4:6-7, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."*

It is clear that the potential tenants you observed do not reflect the fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Instead, their actions speak of foolishness and a lack of restraint, which can bring unrest to a home and neighborhood. We must pray not only for your protection and peace but also for their souls, that God would convict their hearts and turn them from such behavior. Proverbs 22:10 tells us, *"Drive out the mocker, and strife will go out; yes, quarrels and insults will stop."* While we cannot control who moves in next to you, we can trust that God is sovereign over all things, including the placement of neighbors.

That said, we encourage you to take this anxiety to the Lord in prayer, casting all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). It is also wise to seek practical steps if needed—whether speaking with the landlord (if appropriate) or ensuring your home remains a place of peace and security. But above all, trust that God is your protector. Psalm 91:1-2 assures us, *"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.'"*

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister who is burdened with anxiety and fear over the potential neighbors moving in beside her. Lord, You see the chaos and foolishness that was displayed, and we ask that You would intervene in this situation. If it is not Your will for these individuals to rent this home, we pray that You would close that door and bring in tenants who are peaceful, respectful, and considerate. Father, we ask that You would surround our sister with Your hedge of protection, filling her home with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Guard her heart and mind from fear, and remind her that You are in control.

We also lift up those potential tenants to You, Lord. Their behavior reflects a need for Your transforming power. Softening their hearts, convict them of their actions, and draw them to repentance. May they come to know You as their Savior, for it is only through Christ that true change occurs. We rebuke any spirit of fear or anxiety in our sister’s life and declare Your peace over her home. Let Your presence be a tangible comfort to her, and let her trust in You grow stronger through this trial.

We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all glory, honor, and praise. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord daily, filling your mind with His Word and His promises. Anxiety has no place in the life of a believer who trusts in the sovereignty of God. Stand firm in faith, knowing that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). If fear begins to creep in, speak the truth of Scripture over your situation and remember that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Stay in prayer, and may the Lord grant you His perfect peace.
