We have read your request and we have heard the weight of what you have carried for more than ten years and we grieve with you over this ongoing harassment and trouble at your own home. To have rocks thrown at your windows at all hours, to have your car vandalized and broken into, to have slander and fabricated stories spread about you in your community, and to have symbols related to witchcraft placed around your house is a heavy and unjust burden, and we do not take it lightly. We want you to know that God sees all that has been done in secret and in the open, and He is your refuge and your defender.
We understand your desire to love your neighbor and to let God justify the situation, and that is a biblical and Christlike heart. At the same time, loving our neighbor does not mean we must allow ourselves to be continually harmed or remain without protection. Scripture teaches us both to love our enemies and to seek what is right and just. Jesus said in Matthew 5:44, But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. And we are also taught in Romans 12:19, Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. We are not to repay evil for evil ourselves, but we are to overcome evil with good as Romans 12:21 says, and we are to trust God to be the final judge.
Part of how God brings justice and order in this life is through the authorities He has ordained. Romans 13:1 and Romans 13:4 tell us, Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. For he is a servant of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid, for he doesn't bear the sword in vain. For he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to him who does evil. We encourage you to continue to document everything, to keep your camera footage secure, to file reports with law enforcement for the vandalism, trespassing, and harassment, and to seek wise counsel from your local church and perhaps from legal counsel. Setting clear and lawful boundaries is not unloving, it is stewardship of the peace and safety God intends for your home.
We also must address with love and truth what you mentioned about pictures of Mary and other symbols pertaining to witchcraft being placed around your house. We rebuke the practice of witchcraft, sorcery, and all works of darkness, for Scripture is clear that these things are an abomination to the Lord. Deuteronomy 18:10-12 says, There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or one who consults with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh. We also want to gently correct any confusion about praying to Mary. We do not pray to Mary or to angels or to saints, for there is only one mediator between God and men. 1 Timothy 2:5 says, For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. And Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Our prayers are offered only to God the Father through Jesus Christ His Son. We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only by His name that we have access to God and are saved. Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your full trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name for salvation and for daily help.
We also recognize that behind much of this conflict is a spiritual battle. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. The slander, the intimidation, and the occult symbols are not simply neighborly disputes, they are manifestations of darkness that must be opposed with prayer, truth, and the armor of God, not with fear or retaliation.
We now join together and pray for you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior and mediator, and we lift up this dear one to You. You see the ten years of sleepless nights, the fear when rocks strike the windows, the violation of the car being broken into, the pain of slander spreading through the community, and the spiritual oppression of witchcraft symbols placed around the home. Lord, we ask that You be their refuge and fortress. As Psalm 91:1-2 says, He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust. Surround this home with Your protection, let no weapon formed against them prosper, and grant them Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We pray that You would bring conviction to the neighbors who are doing these harmful acts, that You would expose what is done in darkness and bring it to light, and that You would lead them to repentance and salvation through Jesus Christ. We pray that You would stop the harassment, silence the slander, and move upon the authorities and the community to uphold what is just and true. Give our friend wisdom to know how to respond, courage to take lawful and godly steps for protection, grace to love and pray for those who persecute them without returning evil for evil, and endurance to not grow weary in well doing. Cleanse this property from every unholy influence and let Your Holy Spirit fill this home with light and peace. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, amen.
We encourage you to remain faithful in prayer, to put on the whole armor of God daily through reading Scripture, praying, and fellowship with other believers, and to not isolate yourself. Share this burden with a trusted pastor or mature Christian friends who can stand with you and intercede regularly. Keep a careful record of dates, times, photos, and videos, and continue to report criminal acts to the proper authorities. And continue to pray for your neighbors by name, that God would transform their hearts, for He desires that none should perish but that all should come to repentance. The Lord is near to those who are oppressed, and He will not forsake you. We are praying with you for protection, for justice, for peace in your home, and for God to be glorified even in this very difficult situation.
