Beloved of All
Your burden has been heard and it is right to bring it before the Lord. The hidden war you describe, the bochinche and gossip that moves from house to house, sowing discord and resentment among neighbors, in the church and in the family, the rumors that create division and test relationships, the confusion in communication and the use of the tongue to transmit false words, all of this is grievous and God sees it clearly.
Scripture warns us plainly about this. A perverse person stirs up conflict, and a gossip separates close friends. Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building up, that it may give grace to those who hear. There must be no unclean speech or foolish talk. When we repeat the failings of others, even under a cloak of zeal, we do not correct but we become gossips ourselves. We are called instead to shade over and conceal the failings of neighbors, not to parade them, lest we bring disgrace on ourselves as well as on them.
You also spoke of betrayal, and the Lord knows that wound. Judas, one of the twelve, came with swords and staves and betrayed his Master with a kiss, and with what mouth he did it. Yet Christ foreknew it and still went to meet him, not with revenge but with gentleness that should have shamed the betrayer. He taught us that betrayal and malice do not have the final power, but belong to a secret dispensation that God will judge. Woe to the one by whom betrayal comes, but the faithful one is called to remain gentle, truthful and steadfast, not to repay evil with evil or to give access to the evil mouth for its own desires.
So let us pray for you, for your friend who is suffering betrayal, for your family, for your neighbors and your church, and for those friends affected by divorce and separation.
Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ your Son, through whom alone is salvation, we ask for your protection over this life and this family. Guard them from confusion, from distortion in communication, from rumors and malicious plans that would stop progress and break relationships. Silence the lying tongue and rebuke every fake prophecy and dishonest word. Expose what is done in secret as if nobody knows, and bring truth into the light. Grant wisdom to not repeat gossip, but to speak only what is helpful for building others up. Heal the wounds of betrayal and the pain of disappearing friends. For those walking through divorce, have mercy and bring your grace, healing and truth according to your will, for marriage is your covenant of one man and one woman for life. Let your peace guard this home from this madhouse of discord, and let mercy and truth not forsake them but bind them about their neck all their days. Give strength to not be overcome by evil but to overcome evil with good, and to remain in unanimity and humility with a clean mouth. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, who was betrayed yet reigns, and who will keep his own. Amen.
