We have heard your cry about the deep distress this neighbor's behavior has caused and we join with you in seeking God's protection and justice together in Jesus' name. The burden you describe of spying, gossip, distribution of disrespectful pictures, mockery, bullying, destroying reputation, and sowing discord is a heavy one, and the ruin it has brought with extra bills, delays, missing deliveries, hospitalizations and prolonged suffering is not overlooked by the Lord.

Scripture is very clear about the sins you have named. The Lord hates the sowing of discord among brothers and a false witness Proverbs 6:16-19. He who goes about as a tale-bearer reveals secrets, therefore don't keep company with him who opens wide his lips Proverbs 20:19. For lack of wood a fire goes out, without gossip, a quarrel dies down Proverbs 26:20. And an unfaithful witness will not go unpunished, he who pours out lies shall not go free Proverbs 19:5. To take pictures to mock, to spy on another's house, to practice voyeurism and to distribute information to harm another's reputation is bearing false witness and it violates the command You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor Exodus 20:16 and the call to let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but instead what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear Ephesians 4:29.

We also rebuke the spirit of idleness, slothfulness and meddling that you describe. For we hear of some who walk among you in rebellion, who don't work at all, but are busybodies 2 Thessalonians 3:11. Besides, they also learn to be idle, going about from house to house. Not only idle, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not 1 Timothy 5:13. Such a person should not meddle in another's life, for let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evil doer, or a meddler in other men's matters 1 Peter 4:15. The soul of the sluggard desires, and has nothing, but the desire of the diligent shall be fully satisfied Proverbs 13:4. We pray this neighbor would repent of laziness and find honest, dignified work to do with their hands rather than using idle time to destroy others.

You rightly named sorcery, divination, and the demonic nature of this harassment. Scripture warns that idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these, as you quoted in Galatians 5:20-21, those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God. There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer Deuteronomy 18:10. These things are an abomination to the Lord and we rebuke them completely in the name of Jesus. Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12, therefore we put on the whole armor of God.

We are not to take revenge or to wish for death or the cemetery for anyone, even those who harm us. Don't repay evil for evil. Don't take revenge. Instead, leave room for God's wrath, for it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. We are called instead to love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:44 and to bless those who persecute you, bless, and don't curse Romans 12:14.

We notice your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we must speak plainly that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and can be saved. We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we ask for Your mercy and intervention. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of gossip, slander, idleness, meddling, jealousy, sorcery and every demonic assignment that has been sent to spy, to mock, to distribute shameful images, to create confusion, to bring disorder, delay, financial ruin through extra invoices and bills, and to bring sickness and hospitalization to the brink of death. We ask You to silence the lying tongue, to expose every false report and wrong information, and to bring to nothing every scheme of corruption and deceit. Put a hedge of protection around this household, guard their reputation, their health, their finances and their peace. Heal the suffering and trauma that has lasted so long, and command the ruin and misery to cease. Convict this neighbor of sin, bring them to repentance, deliver them from laziness and malice, and lead them to honest work and to salvation in Jesus if they do not know Him. Give to those who have been harassed wisdom to set godly boundaries, to seek lawful help where needed, and to rest in Your justice rather than carrying anxiety that belongs to You. Let Your peace that passes all understanding guard their hearts. We ask that You would be their defender, for You see all things and You will repay with righteousness. We trust You to restore what has been stolen and to keep them from all evil. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

We hear how worn down you are by this neighbor situation, the constant watching, the pictures and gossip, the sense that your home and reputation and even your peace are being pulled into someone else's disorder. It makes sense you would feel anxious and exhausted when so much distraction and conflict is coming at you.

One thing that has helped others in long-running neighbor strain is thinking about boundaries as a kind of property line for your heart and life. You cannot control what a neighbor does with their time, but you can take responsibility for what is yours to protect, your time, your energy, your conversations, and how much access someone has to you. Being connected as neighbors does not mean you have to be available for every provoking comment or image.

A couple of steady next steps we have seen help:

Keep interactions brief and neutral when you can, and step away from conversations that turn to gossip or mockery rather than trying to correct them in the moment. If something does need to be addressed, it often goes better with a calm third person present, like a pastor, landlord, or trusted mediator, so it is not just back and forth between you.

We are praying for you. Father, we lift our neighbor to You and ask for Your protection over their home and reputation, and for wisdom to know when to speak and when to step back. Bring quiet where there has been confusion and discord, guard their heart from anxiety, and lead them to wise help nearby for any ongoing conflict. Give them rest and a renewed sense of safety in You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your burden has been poured out before the Lord and He has heard the sighing of the troubled heart amid so much confusion and vexation. The disorder you describe, the gossip and spying, the idle tale bearing and destruction of reputation, the meddling and deceit and mockery, these are indeed among the works of the flesh of which the apostle speaks, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, rivalry, jealousy, outbursts of fury, selfishness, dissensions, factions, envy and the like, and those who live in them shall not inherit the kingdom of God. And as it is written, at one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by passions, living in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.

There is a true peace and there is a false peace, and we must not mistake the one for the other. The peace of the devil is but a stillness of conscience while sin reigns within, a cry of peace, peace where there is no peace. The peace of God is a blessing, unalloyed and abiding, flowing like a river from the throne of God through the blood of atonement. Christ has made peace by His blood, and peace with God is the treaty, while peace in the conscience is the publication of it. He is our peace, not our prayers nor our tears nor our works, but He Himself. There will be no peace between God and man that despises the person and work of Jesus Christ, for He alone is the Ambassador whom God has appointed, preaching peace by Jesus Christ.

You speak of anxiety and disorder and the war of distraction, of ruin and suffering that seems ready to bring you to the grave. Hear the word of the Lord, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, even in this dark world of sin, even when thronging duties press, even when sorrows surge round, even when death shadows us and ours. Do not seek after peace first. Seek after Christ first, and peace will come next. The very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty, for it is the mind which brings daylight or midnight, peace or war. Bear your sorrow with Him and see what perfect peace you will enjoy.

Let us pray together that the Lord would rebuke every spirit of gossip and slothfulness, of malice and envy, of discord and sorcery and confusion, and that He would bring conviction where there is idle meddling and destruction. May He deliver you from the snare of revenge and keep you from hating those who hate, and teach you to love your neighbour as yourself, not with a love that winks at sin, but with a love that desires his salvation and reformation. May the Lord in mercy grant industry in place of idleness, truth in place of falsehood, and quietness in place of disturbance, and may He protect your household and your reputation and your daily bread from the disorder that has so wearied you.

May He also grant you that filling peace which comes by believing, a peace that has no bottom nor shore, a well founded peace through faith in Him who has vanquished death and all its powers. The Lord is the God of peace, and Jesus says, Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you. Go in peace, for to possess the peace of God which passes all understanding is heaven begun below. It is enough, earth's struggles soon shall cease, and Jesus calls His own to heaven's perfect peace.
