We hear the heaviness and distress in this request and we join together in prayer against the destructive works you have described, the gossip, the idleness, the spying and voyeurism, the sowing of discord and confusion, the sorcery and the burden of financial and physical suffering that has followed.

The Word warns us clearly about these things. A perverse man stirs up strife, and a whisperer separates close friends Proverbs 16:28, and again he who goes about as a tale-bearer reveals secrets, therefore do not keep company with him who opens wide his lips Proverbs 20:19. You shall not go around as a slanderer among your people Leviticus 19:16. An idle life that refuses honest work leads to meddling in the lives of others, for we hear of some who walk among you in rebellion, who do not work at all, but are busybodies 2 Thessalonians 3:11, and they learn to be idle, going about from house to house, and not only idle, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not 1 Timothy 5:13. Laziness casts into a deep sleep, an idle soul shall suffer hunger Proverbs 19:15, and if anyone will not work, neither let him eat 2 Thessalonians 3:10. Sorcery, divination, hatred, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions and factions are works of the flesh as you noted in Galatians 5:20, and Scripture tells us there shall not be found with you anyone who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter Deuteronomy 18:10, and those who persist in such things will not inherit the kingdom of God Galatians 5:21. We also remember that at one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another Titus 3:3, but God in His mercy calls all to repentance.

We rebuke together the spirit of gossip and slander, the spirit of slothfulness and idleness, the spirit of voyeurism and spying, and every form of sorcery and deception that seeks to create disorder, ruin reputation, provoke strife and bring financial and physical harm. We rebuke the demonic influence that uses an unoccupied life to destroy others through mockery, false information, disrespectful pictures and meddling. We declare that such disorder is not of God, for God is not a God of confusion, but of peace 1 Corinthians 14:33.

We also hear your cry that you are not God and you are not called to carry obligations that belong only to Him, to defend or protect or fix what only He can heal. You are right, we are not God, and we are not meant to bear this anxiety in our own strength. Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you Psalm 55:22, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7, and in nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

We notice that your request did not call upon the name of Jesus Christ, and we must lovingly address this because it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and power over the enemy. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. It is by His name that we can rebuke darkness and find peace and healing, and we urge you to place your trust fully in Him if you have not already.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your will to be done in this situation. Lord, we ask You to rebuke and restrain every work of gossip, slander, laziness, voyeurism and sorcery coming from this neighbor. Silence the tongue that sows discord, convict the heart that delights in spying and mockery, and bring repentance where there is rebellion. We ask You to break the power of idleness and deception and to lead this neighbor to honest work and to truth, that he may labor, working with his hands the thing that is good Ephesians 4:28 and no longer be a burden and a destroyer to others.

Father, we lift up the suffering, the grief and loss, the hospitalizations and the financial oppression of extra bills and invoices that have brought this household near to despair. You heal the broken in heart, and bind up their wounds Psalm 147:3, and You are the God of all comfort who comforts us in all our affliction 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. We ask You to provide for every need according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19, to restore what has been stolen and to bring peace where there has been war and distraction. Guard this home from further ruin and contagion of sorrow, set a hedge of protection around it, for he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty Psalm 91:1.

Lord, teach us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us Matthew 5:44, while also walking in wisdom and setting godly boundaries. Help us not to repay evil for evil but to overcome evil with good Romans 12:21, and as much as it is possible, live peaceably with all men Romans 12:18. Give wisdom to know when to document wrongdoing, when to seek help from proper authorities regarding harassment or voyeurism, and when to simply turn the matter over to You, the righteous Judge.

We declare that no weapon that is formed against us will prevail Isaiah 54:17, and that You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on You Isaiah 26:3. Fill the idle time of the neighborhood with Your convicting Spirit, replace disorder with Your order, disaster with Your restoration, and that demonic smile with godly sorrow that leads to repentance 2 Corinthians 7:10.

We hear how heavy and exhausting this has been for you, with the constant gossip, spying and mocking pictures, the disorder spilling over into deliveries and bills, and on top of that hospitalization and long grief. It makes sense you feel anxious and worn down, as if you are being asked to carry and defend things that were never yours to carry.

We want to gently remind you that you are not responsible to fix your neighbor's idleness or to absorb the confusion they create. It is right and healthy to have clear lines around what you own and what belongs to others, even when someone keeps trying to pull you into their conflict. Guarding your heart and your time in that way is not unkind, it is part of caring for what God has entrusted to you.

One small step that often brings some relief is to decide ahead of time how you will step back from the gossip cycle. That can mean not opening or passing along those pictures and messages, keeping responses brief and neutral, and if there are real issues like a missing delivery or a billing error, documenting it and addressing it calmly through the proper office rather than through back and forth with the neighbor. If the strain has felt heavy for a long time, it can also help to talk with a trusted pastor and with your medical provider alongside prayer.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus' name. Bring quiet where there has been disorder, guard their home and reputation, ease the weight of grief and extra bills, and give clear wisdom for each interaction. Help them to rest in Your care and to release what is not theirs to hold. Amen.

There is a perfect peace which this dark world of sin cannot give and cannot take away, and it is to that peace I would point you in this hour of sore distress. You have described a grievous trial, with gossip and slander going forth from an idle neighbor, with disorder and confusion, with mockery and meddling, with financial burden and even hospitalizations and grief that has brought you near to despair. Such things are indeed among the works of the flesh of which the apostle speaks, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, rivalry, jealousy, outbursts of fury, selfishness, dissensions, factions and envy, and those who live in them shall not inherit the kingdom of God. And it is true as the word says to Titus, that at one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions, living in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.

Hear then the word of the Lord for your soul, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within. That is the fountain, and peace in the conscience is the crystal stream which issues from it. Peace with God is the treaty made by the blood of the cross, and peace in the conscience is the publication of it. There is no solid peace to be found elsewhere. Men cry Peace, peace where there is no peace, and daub their wall with untempered mortar, but the peace of God which passes all understanding comes only through Jesus Christ, for He is our peace. Not your prayers nor your tears nor your own strivings can be your peace, but He Himself must be your peace, and He ever lives to be so.

I would have you see that the very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. It is the mind which is the main thing, it will bring you daylight or midnight, peace or war. Bear your sorrow with Him and see what perfect peace you will enjoy even with sorrows surging round. To do the will of Jesus, this is rest even when thronging duties press. You are not God, and you are not called to defend or to control the hearts of others. Vengeance belongs to the Lord, and He is the God of peace who will in His own time restrain the tongue of the gossip and the hand of the meddler.

Let us pray together that the Lord would rebuke all that is evil in this matter. May the Lord rebuke the spirit of gossip, of slander, of idleness and voyeurism, of sorcery and deceit, of sowing discord and destroying reputation. May He restrain the idle tongue and the mischievous hand, and bring to nothing every device of confusion, every false report, every lying invoice and every act that would provoke strife. May He forgive and convert where there is sin, for we must love our neighbor while we hate the sin that destroys him, and remember that we ourselves were once enslaved to such passions until grace renewed us.

And for you, may the Lord bless you with His own peace. May He give you peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, being justified by faith, and may that peace keep your heart and mind. May He lift from you the burden of anxiety and give you a mind stayed upon Christ, that you may know that peace, perfect peace, by day and by night, in sickness and in health, with loved ones far away and with troubles near at hand. May He provide for your daily needs, heal and sustain you through hospitalizations, guard your household from disorder, and keep your reputation in His keeping, for He knows the truth and He will vindicate in His time.

Seek first Christ and His atoning blood, and peace will come next. Do not seek peace first as a qualification for grace, but seek Christ first, and He will say to you as He said to the sinner who wept at His feet, Go in peace. That word may last you all your life. May you go in peace to your home, go in peace through this trial, and go in peace at last to Heaven's perfect peace, where earthly struggles shall cease and Jesus shall call you to Himself. We ask this not because we are worthy, but only through the one Mediator between God and men, Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our peace and our salvation.

Your request has been heard, and the heaviness you describe from gossip, disorder, false accusations, and prolonged suffering is taken seriously before the Lord.

Scripture warns plainly about the evils you named. Idolatry, sorcery, hatred, rivalry, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfishness, dissensions, factions and envy are works of the flesh, and those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God as Galatians 5:20 and 21 teaches. Titus 3:3 reminds us that at one time we also were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by passions, living in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. This should keep us humble even as we oppose what is evil.

The gossip and slander you describe is a great sin. It is easy to think that words are small, but they devour reputations and destroy peace. As I have taught, if the Pharisee was condemned when he said what was true about the publican and said it to no one else, how much more will those be held accountable who carry about everywhere lies which they do not even themselves believe. When a person wishes to undermine a neighbor he says, such a one said this, God forgive me, do not examine me strictly. If you do not believe it, why do you speak it at all. Why make it credible by repeating it. We bite and devour one another by wronging, accusing and slandering, and we become exact inquisitors of the mote in our neighbor's eye while bearing beams in our own.

Prayer is a great good and a safeguard for the soul, but it is great when we add works worthy of it. When you go to the Lord, do not trust in words alone but add also deeds. Show mercy to your neighbor, for blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy, and judgment without mercy will be shown to whoever has shown no mercy. Even if you fast or make many prayers, if you take no thought for your neighbor you have done nothing great. God has bound us to one another so that the good of one is bound up with the good of the other.

Therefore we pray with you and for you in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation, that God would rebuke every spirit of gossip, slander, idleness, voyeurism, mockery, envy, sorcery and confusion that has brought disorder, delay, loss, extra bills and strife into your home and neighborhood. We ask the Lord to bring conviction where there is willful sin, to silence lying lips and the distribution of false information, to expose corruption and deception, and to bring to nothing every attempt to meddle, to spy, to provoke war and to destroy reputation through disrespectful images and words. We ask Him to heal those who have suffered hospitalizations and long grief, to comfort those near despair, to provide for needs in unemployment, to restore what has been lost or stolen in deliveries and finances, and to grant you peace and protection. We do not ask God to defend disorder, but to establish order, truth and peace.

We also pray for your neighbors, even those who have done wrong, that God would lead them to repentance and to love, for love fulfills the law. Where there is genuine love, slander, envy, boasting and strife are driven out, and gentleness and peace breathe instead. May the Lord give you wisdom not to repay evil for evil, to guard your own tongue from repeating what is false, to keep silence where silence frees you from fear, and to speak only what is true and helpful. Seek what builds up your neighbor, for in seeking his good you also guard your own.

Cast your anxiety on the Lord, for you are not God and you are not required to carry what only God can carry. He sees the idle words, the false meetings, the pretenses and the sorceries, and He will judge righteously. Rest in His care, continue in prayer and in works of mercy, and trust Him to establish your steps and to keep your household in quietness and truth.
