Neighbor’s unemployment unfortunately with ruin, tragedies with all bad intentions send to hospitalization with grief / loss for transfer sickness die

Your pain in this long season of gossip, disorder and grief has been heard, and I have brought your request before the Lord with you.

You have described a neighbor whose idleness has turned into spying, mockery, the spreading of pictures and false information, bullying and the destruction of reputation, with confusion, meddling, and even sorcery and intimidation mixed in. You have also described how this has brought real suffering into your life, anxiety, financial pressure with extra bills, delays and missing deliveries, and even sickness and hospitalization and the fear of ruin and death. It is right to bring all of this to God and to ask Him to rebuke what is evil and to set a boundary against it.

Scripture names the works you are facing plainly. As you quoted, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, rivalry, jealousy, outbursts of fury, selfishness, dissensions, factions, envy and the like are works of the flesh, and those who live in them will not inherit the kingdom of God, Galatians 5:20 to 21. And as you also quoted, at one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by passions, living in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another, Titus 3:3. That second word is important, because it reminds us that we all need mercy.

For that reason I must speak to you both as one who prays against evil and as one who exhorts you to walk in love and mercy. The Lord teaches that love fulfills the law, and that to love God is to love our neighbor and to keep His commandments. We are members of one another, like many grains made into one bread, and when one member suffers or sins, the whole body feels it. When we bite and devour one another, when we accuse and slander and are vexed by our neighbor, we wound ourselves as well.

You asked to rebuke the spirit of gossip, slothfulness, idleness, voyeurism, discord and sorcery, and we do pray that God would rebuke and restrain every demonic influence, every spirit of slander, laziness, envy, mockery, deceit, voyeurism and confusion, and every practice of divination and sorcery. We pray that God would stop the distribution of disrespectful pictures, the false reports, the wrong lists and wrong information used to take advantage of others, and the provoking of strife and distraction. We ask the Lord to bring exposure to lies, to protect your house and your reputation, to guard your deliveries and your household from delay and disorder, to provide for your needs where there has been financial pressure, and to heal and protect from sickness, hospitalization and grief. We ask Him to put a hedge around you and to give you peace instead of anxiety.

At the same time, hear the warning given to us about our own speech. We are told to shade over and conceal the failings of neighbors rather than to parade them, even under a cloak of zeal for goodness. If we pass on a report we do not even believe, and then say God forgive me, why did we speak it at all and make it credible by much reporting. Though we may be full of beams in our own eyes, we become exact inquisitors of the motes in our neighbor. Even if what is said is true, we will be judged not by what our neighbor has done but by what we have spoken, for by our words we will be condemned. The Pharisee also spoke what was true about others, yet he paid the utmost penalty because he spoke without mercy.

Therefore do not return gossip for gossip, or slander for slander, or mockery for mockery. Flee from idolatry and sorcery and have no fellowship with them. Do not believe every report and do not pass it on. Keep silence where you can, free yourself from fear by not spreading what is not true or not needful. You are right to say we are not God and we are not able to defend or protect against every demanding and disorderly claim. We are not obligated to carry anxiety that belongs to the Lord, nor to act as if we must control what only God can control.

Prayer is a great good and a protection for the soul, but it is great when we do things worthy of it and do not render ourselves unworthy. When the priest says the Lord will have mercy on you, we must also add works worthy of mercy. The things we wish to obtain from God we ought first to impart to our neighbor. Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy, Matthew 5:7, and judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful, James 2:13. So while you pray for deliverance, also pray for your neighbor with mercy, that God would bring him to repentance, to honest work, to truthful speech, and to salvation through Jesus Christ alone.

Let me pray for you now.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, have mercy on Your child who is weary from disorder and grief. Rebuke the spirits of gossip, slander, sloth, envy, strife, deceit, voyeurism and sorcery that have troubled this home and this neighborhood. Silence the lying tongue, stop the spying and the distribution of shameful images, bring confusion to every false report and every scheme to take advantage, and let truth be established. Forgive us where we have spoken evil, even within ourselves, and teach us to love our neighbor as ourselves. Heal bodies and minds from sickness and hospitalization, comfort those who mourn, provide for daily needs, protect reputation and household, and give wisdom to set proper boundaries without hatred. Fill this heart with Your love which removes covetousness, envy, slander, arrogance and falsehood, and make it humble, gentle and peaceable. Let Your peace guard this home, and let this neighbor and all who do evil turn from darkness to Your Son and find mercy. We ask this trusting not in our worth but in the mercy of Christ our Lord. Amen.

Continue to walk in quiet faithfulness, guard your lips, do honest work as God enables you, seek the help of wise pastors and, where there is real harassment or voyeurism or threat, also seek lawful help. Keep praying, keep showing mercy where you can, and keep entrusting judgment to God who judges justly.
