Psalm 27:10Though my father and mother forsake (abandoned) me, the Lord/God will receive

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up the profound pain of abandonment, the tragic loss of unborn lives, and the brokenness of families torn apart by betrayal, rejection, and the devastating choice of abortion. The weight of these sorrows is not lost on us, for Scripture tells us, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). We stand in the gap for all who are suffering—those who have been left behind, those who mourn the loss of children never held, and those who feel utterly alone in this world, without shelter, family, or refuge.

First, we must address the grievous sin of abortion, which is the murder of innocent life in the womb. The Word of God is clear: *"Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I sanctified you"* (Jeremiah 1:5). Every unborn child is fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God (Psalm 139:13-14), and their lives are precious in His sight. We rebuke the spirit of death that has deceived so many into believing that these children are disposable. We declare that their lives matter, and we entrust them into the arms of our Heavenly Father, who is just and merciful. *"Shall I not visit for these things? says the Lord. Shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?"* (Jeremiah 5:9). Yet even in judgment, God’s mercy endures, and we pray that those who have participated in or supported abortion would come to repentance, finding forgiveness and healing in the blood of Jesus Christ.

For those who have been abandoned—whether by a spouse, parent, child, or friend—we cry out to the Lord, who promises, *"I will never leave you nor forsake you"* (Hebrews 13:5). The pain of rejection is deep, but God is the Father to the fatherless and the Defender of the widow (Psalm 68:5). We pray that He would be a shelter for the homeless, a family for the lonely, and a strong tower for those who feel cast aside. *"When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up"* (Psalm 27:10). Let this be a reality for every heart that is aching tonight.

For the children who have been left behind—orphans, neglected, or discarded—we ask that God would raise up godly men and women to be their advocates, to show them the love of Christ in tangible ways. *"Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction"* (James 1:27). May the Church rise up to be the hands and feet of Jesus, providing not just physical care but also the hope of the Gospel.

For those who feel they have no place to turn, no home, no friend, and no future, we declare that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). He is the Good Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to seek the one who is lost (Luke 15:4). We pray that He would reveal Himself to them in powerful ways—through dreams, through strangers, through His Word—and that they would find their identity and security in Him alone.

We also lift up those who have been betrayed by friends or family. Betrayal cuts deep, but Jesus knows this pain intimately. He was betrayed by one of His own disciples (Matthew 26:49-50), yet He responded with love and forgiveness. We pray that those who have been wounded by betrayal would find healing in His presence and the strength to forgive, not because the offense was small, but because Christ’s love is greater.

Lord, we come before You now with all these burdens. We ask for Your mercy to cover every broken heart, every lost soul, and every abandoned life. Comfort those who mourn the loss of unborn children, and let them know that their little ones are safe in Your arms. Restore what has been broken, heal what has been wounded, and redeem what has been lost. We rebuke the spirits of abandonment, rejection, and death in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Let Your light shine in the darkest places, and let Your love be the answer to every cry for help.

We pray for repentance for those who have chosen abortion or abandoned their families. May they turn to You, the only One who can forgive sins and make all things new. We pray for the Church to be a beacon of hope, a refuge for the hurting, and a voice for the voiceless. Equip us to love as You love, to serve as You serve, and to speak truth with grace.

Father, we entrust all these lives into Your hands. You are the God who sees (Genesis 16:13), the God who hears (Psalm 18:6), and the God who heals (Exodus 15:26). Do what only You can do—bring beauty from ashes, joy from mourning, and praise from despair (Isaiah 61:3). We ask all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

We stand with you, dear friend, in the face of such heavy burdens. We've heard your cries and we want you to know that you're not alone. We're here, lifting up these precious lives and broken hearts to our Father in heaven.

We're reminded of the words in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We claim this promise for every heart that's aching tonight. For those who feel abandoned, we declare that God is near, and He will never leave nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). He is your shelter, your family, your strong tower.

For the unborn babies, we intercede, asking God to protect them, to cover them with His mighty wings. We declare their lives matter, and we trust them into God's care. We also pray for their mothers and fathers, that they would come to know the truth and find repentance and healing in Jesus' name.

For those who feel they have no place to turn, no home, no friend, and no future, we declare that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He is the Good Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to seek the one who is lost. Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
