We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, grieving the profound loss of life, especially the innocent lives of unborn children, whose voices were silenced before they could cry out. The pain of abandonment, betrayal, and the crushing weight of loneliness you carry is not unseen by our Heavenly Father. He collects every tear in His bottle (Psalm 56:8) and hears the groans of the brokenhearted. The extermination of generations through abortion is a grave sin against God’s design for life, and we must call it what it is: the murder of the most vulnerable. The Word declares, "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I set you apart" (Jeremiah 1:5). Every child, born or unborn, is fearfully and wonderfully made in God’s image (Psalm 139:13-16), and their lives matter deeply to Him.

We rebuke the spirit of death and despair that seeks to convince mothers, fathers, and families that abortion is a solution. It is not. It is a violation of God’s command: "You shall not murder" (Exodus 20:13). To those who have participated in abortion, whether through coercion, fear, or choice, we declare that there is forgiveness and healing in the blood of Jesus Christ. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Confess your sin, repent, and receive the mercy that flows from Calvary. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).

To those who have suffered miscarriage or the loss of a child, we mourn with you. The Lord sees your sorrow and holds your little ones in His arms. We trust in His perfect justice and mercy, knowing that He welcomes the innocent into His presence (2 Samuel 12:23). To the abandoned, whether by spouse, parent, child, or friend, we declare that God will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). He is your refuge, your shelter, and your family when earthly ties fail. The psalmist’s cry is our prayer: "Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me" (Psalm 27:10).

For those without a home, a family, or a friend to turn to, we pray that the Lord would provide shelter, both physically and spiritually. He is the Father to the fatherless and the defender of the widow (Psalm 68:5). We rebuke the spirit of isolation and abandonment, declaring that you are seen, known, and deeply loved by the Creator of the universe. If you do not know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to turn to Him today. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and only through Him can we find true refuge.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with contrite hearts, grieving the loss of precious lives, those taken by abortion, miscarriage, or abandonment. We ask for Your mercy to cover every mother, father, and family member who has been involved in the sin of abortion. Lord, break the chains of guilt and shame, and lead them to repentance and healing through the blood of Jesus Christ. For those who have lost children, we ask for Your comfort to surround them like a warm embrace. You are the God who collects every tear, and we trust that You hold their little ones in Your eternal care.

Father, we lift up the abandoned, the spouses left behind, the children without parents, the lonely and the broken. Be their refuge, their provider, and their family. Open doors of shelter, both physical and spiritual, and surround them with godly community. Break the spirit of despair and isolation, and let them know that they are never alone because You are with them.

Lord, we pray for those who do not yet know You. Draw them to Yourself, that they may find salvation in Jesus Christ. Soften their hearts to receive Your love and grace. We declare that no one is beyond Your reach, and no sin is too great for Your forgiveness.

We rebuke the spirit of death and destruction that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. In the name of Jesus, we command it to flee. We declare life, hope, and restoration over every person reading these words. May they experience the fullness of Your love and the peace that surpasses all understanding.

We entrust all the unborn, the abandoned, and the broken into Your hands, trusting in Your perfect justice and mercy. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

One thing that might help is simply to name the specific griefs you’re carrying, right now, your neighbor’s baby, but also this long list of abandoned children and family members who’ve lost connection. Sometimes it helps to write down or speak aloud each loss you’re lamenting, not as a checklist but as an act of entrusting them, one by one, into God’s hands. You’re not “fixing” anything by doing this, you’re refusing to let those lives be forgotten. That kind of remembering matters.

We also noticed you spoke of a lack of house, family, or friend for shelter. If that’s your own situation too, not just something you see around you, we hope you’ll reach out to a local church or a pregnancy care center in your area, not because they’ll have perfect answers, but because many of them quietly step into these exact broken places with practical care and a steady presence. You don’t have to carry this alone.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this neighbor and the tiny life lost. Comfort that household in ways only You can reach. For every child abandoned or unloved before birth, Father, receive them into Your everlasting arms, they are not forgotten. And for this dear person praying, we ask for shelter when it’s needed, for steady companions, and for the hope that You are the One who gathers the forsaken and holds them close. The God of all mercy, who heard the cry of Ishmael in the wilderness, hears the silent cry of every unborn life. Their little souls are precious in His sight, and He who said, “Suffer the little children to come unto me,” doth not cast them out. The snatching of a baby to heaven is one of the ways in which Jesus seeks that which was lost. David’s child was taken, and he said, “I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.” So with all these innocents; they are gathered into the eternal kingdom, where the Lamb doth feed them and lead them to living fountains of waters.

You, who are bowed down under a spirit of abandonment, have you not tasted that when father and mother forsake, the Lord doth take up? You have pleaded the psalmist’s cry, and the promise standeth sure: “Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.” Though you feel yourself a beggar without shelter or friend, yet the Lord gathereth together the outcasts of Israel. He is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in the day of trouble.

But mercy is only fully known and sealed to the soul in Jesus Christ. It is not a vague hope that we offer, but a solid rock. You must yourself come to Him who died and rose again. The same arms that receive the little children are open for you. Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart. Make the door of Mercy resound again and again with thine earnest blows, and thou shalt not be sent away empty. The precious blood of the Son of God is a fountain opened for all uncleanness; nothing but thine own refusal can bar thee from it. His name shall endure for ever, and in that name we have hope beyond the grave, hope that swallows up death in victory.

The cry of your heart for the unborn and the abandoned reaches the throne of God. You have rightly turned to the Scriptures: though father and mother forsake, the Lord will receive the helpless; even a nursing mother might forget her child, but God never forgets. The little ones who perish before birth, who have committed no sin, are gathered into the arms of Him who said, “Let the children come to me.” Their innocence pleads for mercy, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. As the faithful children of the people entreat God with simple trust, so these innocents, pure and lowly, become intercessors before the Father.

Yet while we entrust them to His unfailing mercy, we must take care for our own souls. The God of all comfort commands us to be merciful, even as He is merciful. Without mercy, prayer is empty; without almsgiving, fasting and chastity profit nothing. He will have mercy and not sacrifice. If we beg forgiveness but refuse to forgive, if we ask for shelter yet close our doors to the homeless, we mock the mercy we seek. Show mercy to the abandoned, the friendless, the destitute. Give what you can, shelter, bread, a gentle word, and you store up oil for your own lamp against that Day.

Nothing is so characteristic of a Christian as mercy. It is the very work of God, who made heaven and earth, but who draws us most powerfully by His tender love. Let us then become imitators of His goodness, that when we cry, “Have mercy on us,” we may hear in return, “Come, you blessed of my Father.” The Lord receive the departed innocents into His peace, and may He turn our hearts to active compassion, so that in showing mercy we may obtain mercy.

The weight of what you are carrying is real. When you speak of unborn babies dying, of abandoned children, of families shattered across every generation, you are touching a wound that runs deep through the whole world. The cry for mercy is the right cry. It is never out of place.

God’s mercy endures forever. That is a refrain woven through Scripture like a golden thread. The same mercy that stretched out the heavens and set the sun to rule the day is the mercy that remembers the forsaken, the broken, the ones no one else will claim. You mentioned the psalm that says, “Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.” That is not a small promise. It means that when every human support crumbles, when family abandons or betrays, there is a receiving that goes beyond anything a father or mother can give. And through the prophet Isaiah, God asks, “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast?” Even if the most natural bond in the world were to fail, His compassion never fails.

You have also spoken of the unborn, those who were never given a name or a shelter on earth. You have entrusted them to God’s care, asking Him to receive them into heaven. That is an act of faith that rests on the character of God. He sees what is done in secret. He does not abandon the innocent. And while the world may exterminate its own generations, the Lord remains a refuge. In the law, cities of refuge were set apart so that someone who had caused an unintentional death could flee and find protection from the avenger. Those cities are a picture of something far greater, of Jesus Christ, the true refuge for the guilty and the desperate. He is the place where mercy and truth meet, where righteousness and peace have kissed each other. There is no other shelter that holds against the accusations that come from within and without.

You come like a beggar, saying you need a madhouse of mercy. That is exactly where mercy thrives. Justice is getting what you deserve, and you know you dare not ask for that. But mercy is what you do not deserve, and God is not stingy with it. He says, “I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy.” That sounds severe, but it is actually our only hope. It means He is sovereign, and He chooses to show mercy to the desperate, the shattered, the ones who cry out like the blind man on the road, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” The crowd may try to hush you, but He hears, and He stops.

So where do you go when you are abandoned? You go to Him. Where do those unborn babies go? You commit them to the One who is full of compassion. His mercy is as high as the heavens are above the earth, so vast that every new discovery of the universe only seems to stretch it wider. And it is not a temporary thing; it is from everlasting to everlasting upon those who fear Him.

Do not let the darkness make you forget that God delights in showing mercy. He looked for an excuse to spare Israel when they deserved destruction. He put intercession in the heart of Moses so that He might relent. And now, through Jesus Christ, mercy is offered without measure. You can have peace even in the midst of this storm because the penalty has been borne. You can come without any plea but mercy, and you will find that mercy stands ready to receive you and to shield those who have no other advocate.
