We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up the deep sorrow and grief expressed in this request, the loss of unborn children, the pain of abandonment, and the devastation of families torn apart. The Word of God declares the sanctity of life from the very moment of conception, for the Lord says in Jeremiah 1:5, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you. Before you were born I set you apart." Every life is precious in His sight, and the loss of these little ones is a tragedy that grieves the heart of God.
We must also address the grave sin of abortion, which is the taking of innocent life. The Bible is clear in Exodus 20:13, "You shall not murder." Abortion is not a matter of choice, it is the destruction of God’s creation, and it brings spiritual consequences not only to those who participate in it but also to generations that follow. We rebuke the spirit of death and destruction that has led to the extermination of generations, and we declare that God’s mercy and justice will prevail. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and He saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
To those who have suffered abandonment, whether by a spouse, parent, child, or friend, we stand with you in prayer. The pain of being forsaken is profound, but the Lord promises in Psalm 27:10, "Though my father and my mother have forsaken me, Yahweh will take me up." He is our refuge, our shelter, and our ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We pray for those who have no home, no family, and no support, that God would provide for their needs and surround them with His love.
For those who have lost children through miscarriage, abortion, or abandonment, we entrust these precious souls into the arms of our Heavenly Father. Jesus said in Matthew 19:14, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these." We believe that God, in His infinite mercy, receives these little ones into His presence.
We also lift up those who are struggling with despair, feeling as though they have nowhere to turn. The enemy seeks to isolate and destroy, but God’s Word declares in Isaiah 41:10, "Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." We rebuke the spirit of hopelessness and declare that God’s light will break through the darkness.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts broken for the loss of life, the pain of abandonment, and the suffering of those who feel alone. We ask for Your mercy to cover every unborn child who has been taken from this world, and we trust that You receive them into Your arms. Lord, we repent on behalf of those who have participated in abortion, and we ask for Your forgiveness and healing. Comfort those who grieve, provide for those in need, and restore what has been broken. Strengthen the weary, bind up the brokenhearted, and let Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
We declare that You are our refuge, our strength, and our hope. No one who trusts in You will be put to shame. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have access to the Father. Amen.
