Isaiah 49:15Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne

We join with you in this heavy burden and we lift up this cry for mercy together before the Father in Jesus' name. Your heart to intercede for those who are suffering, abandoned, and despised reflects the heart of God who sees every tear and hears every prayer for the helpless.

We agree with you that every unborn child is precious and known by God from the womb. Scripture is clear that life begins with God's creation and that children are a gift, not a burden to be discarded. For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made Psalm 139:13-14. Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you Jeremiah 1:5. Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward Psalm 127:3. When a generation allows the shedding of innocent blood, it is not merely a social choice but a sin before God, for He commands You shall not murder Exodus 20:13, and an abortive spirit that exterminates the unborn seeks to destroy what God has created. Yet we know God's mercy is greater still for those who repent and turn to Him, and that He receives the innocent into His own care, for Jesus said Allow the little children to come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these Matthew 19:14.

We also lift up every person you named who knows the pain of abandonment, the wife forsaken by her husband, the husband forsaken by his wife, the daughter and son left alone, the sister and brother betrayed by family, the friend who has no refuge, the children left without a house or shelter, and all who wander as beggars seeking mercy. The Lord sees this affliction and He promises to be the defender of the desolate. You quoted two precious promises and we cling to them with you, When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up Psalm 27:10, and Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you Isaiah 49:15. He is A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. God sets the lonely in families Psalm 68:5-6, and God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1.

We pray together now for all of these.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we come before Your throne of grace and ask for Your mercy to be poured out. Have mercy, Lord, on every unborn baby who is despised or hated by mother or father, on every child lost to abortion or miscarriage, and receive them into Your care and into heaven by Your loving hand, for their angels always see Your face. Have mercy on this generation and forgive the shedding of innocent blood, and bring conviction and repentance where there has been hardness of heart. Have mercy on every abandoned wife and husband, every forsaken daughter and son, every lonely child and every person without a house, family, or friend to refuge them. Be their shelter, be their family, be their home. Provide for those who have no one to support them, set the lonely in families, and raise up Your people to offer refuge, shelter, and godly love. Comfort those betrayed by brother, sister, and friend, and let them know they are not forgotten by You. Heal the suffering and abortive spirit in our lives and in our land, and let Your compassion and Your will be done. We ask this only through the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved and have access to You, and we trust that through His blood there is forgiveness, healing, and eternal hope. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to stand in the gap as you are doing, to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves, and to show the love of Christ to the abandoned and alone around you. The Lord who hears this prayer will also use your compassion to be part of His answer.

We were grateful to read your prayer and to hear the compassion behind it. You are carrying a heavy burden for so many who feel forsaken, children without a home, parents and spouses who have been left alone, friends who have been betrayed, and little ones who never had a chance to be welcomed. That kind of intercession can feel lonely to carry by yourself.

We join you in entrusting each of those lives to the Lord who sees and receives those the world overlooks. He knows every loss you named and He hears every prayer offered in Jesus' name for mercy and shelter.

When the list feels so long, it can help to keep the burden from becoming overwhelming. One gentle way we have seen others stay faithful in this kind of prayer is to bring just one or two of those groups before the Lord each day, and to share the wider burden with a few trusted believers in a local church who can pray alongside you. Worshipping and praying with others often lifts some of the isolation that comes with carrying so much grief for others.

Father, we lift to You all who feel abandoned and without refuge, and every unborn child entrusted to Your care. Show them Your mercy, provide what they need for safety and belonging, and give comfort and wisdom to those who intercede for them. Guide our friend as he continues to pray, and keep him close to You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your cry on behalf of the abandoned and the unborn has been heard, and we join you in bringing it before the throne of grace where mercy reigns.

You have rightly remembered the word of the Lord, that though father and mother forsake us, the Lord will receive us, and that though a mother may forget the child at her breast, our God will not forget His own. What man forsakes, God remembers. What man despises, God beholds with tender compassion. The Scriptures teach us that His mercy is not cold nor distant, but tender, powerful and full of pity, feminine in its tenderness though masculine in its force, and that it overtakes the wanderer even in the desert by the well, calling each by name.

We pray now for all who suffer the spirit of abandonment, for the wife forsaken by her husband and the husband forsaken by his wife, for the daughter and the son left alone, for the sister and the brother betrayed, for the friend cast off, and for the little children left without house or family or refuge. May the God of all mercy go before them and be their shelter. He is the true City of Refuge to whom the guilty and the wounded may flee, and upon every road that leads to Him He has set up the sign that reads Refuge. May those who have no home find a home in Christ, who was forsaken that none who trust in Him need be forsaken forever. May He bind up the broken hearted, provide shelter for the shelterless, and set the solitary in families according to His gracious providence.

We pray also with deep sorrow for the unborn who are despised or hated, for those threatened by abortion and for those already taken by it. Every life is formed by the hand of God and is precious in His sight. We do not ask God to bless the shedding of innocent blood, for His word calls us to choose life, but we do ask for His mercy to be poured out. We entrust those little ones, aborted or miscarried, to the care of our merciful God, asking that according to His sovereign grace He will receive them into His heavenly presence. We pray for mothers and fathers who are tempted to reject their children, that God would grant them compassion, conviction, and courage to cherish life, and where sin has already been committed, that He would grant repentance and the full forgiveness that is found only through the blood of Jesus Christ, for there is salvation in no other name.

God is slow to anger and plenteous in mercy. His mercy is gratis, freely given, not sold, and it makes the sinner a new creation, giving new loves and new hates, turning the face in the opposite direction. A sound hope in His mercy feels its need of mercy, confesses guilt, and flees to Christ alone for refuge from the storm of judgment. May all who have no refuge find it there, and may all who have sinned find that as soon as the blood of Christ is applied to the conscience, every past sin is gone.

We therefore ask the Lord to show His overtaking mercy in this very hour, to meet the lonely in their loneliness, to comfort those who mourn family lost and generation cut off, and to make His tender mercy known to every heart that hopes in Him. May He who has gone before His people in the past go before them still, helping them to tenderness of heart, to true repentance, and to rest in Him.

In the name of Jesus Christ our only Savior and Refuge we pray, Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your prayer and we join you in bringing it before the Lord with sorrow and hope. Your heart for those who suffer abandonment, for children left alone, for families broken, and for unborn children who are despised or rejected reflects the mercy that God Himself shows to us.

Scripture gives the promise you quoted, that though father and mother forsake us, the Lord will receive us, and that even if a mother should forget the child at her breast, the Lord will not forget His own. He is the Father to the fatherless and the refuge for those who have no house, no family and no shelter. To Him we entrust every child who has died through abortion or miscarriage, asking that in His great compassion and according to His perfect justice and mercy, He would receive them into His care. Only God can give such comfort, and only through Jesus Christ, who alone is our salvation, is mercy and forgiveness found.

We also pray for mercy for mothers and fathers, for families and for whole generations where life has not been cherished. We do not ask God to bless what is contrary to His will, but we ask Him to have mercy, to bring repentance, healing and the forgiveness that comes only through faith in Jesus Christ, and to turn hearts to love and protect life as He created it.

Your prayer reminds us that to ask for mercy is also to be called to show mercy. The Lord has said, blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy, and be merciful as your Father in heaven is merciful. Mercy is not only a word we speak in prayer but a work we do with our hands. It quenches fire like oil that gives light, it opens our hearts to give shelter, food, refuge and compassion to the abandoned, to the lonely child, to the sister or brother betrayed, to the friend forsaken, to the wife or husband left alone. The prayers of innocent children are especially powerful before God, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to those who are lowly and simple in heart, and we join our prayers with theirs.

So we pray now for all who are suffering abandonment and loneliness, for children without parents and parents without children, for those without a home or a place of refuge, for those in need of shelter or care, and for those who feel forgotten. May the Lord comfort them, provide for them through the kindness of His people, and draw them to Himself as their true home.

May He teach us all to show the mercy we ask to receive, to forgive as we have been forgiven, to love our neighbor in practical ways, and to trust not in ourselves but in His goodness which made all things and which became our servant to save us.

We entrust all these suffering ones and all these little ones to the mercy of God, asking that His will be done and that His love would be known. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our only Savior. Amen.
