Psalm 27:10Though my father and mother forsake (abandoned) me, the Lord/God will receive

Isaiah 49:15Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne

We join together with you in bringing this heavy burden before the Lord, for we hear your heart crying out for those who suffer abandonment, for children left alone, for families broken and scattered, and especially for the precious unborn who are despised and destroyed.

We affirm what Scripture teaches so clearly, that every life is formed by God and precious to Him. For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb Psalm 139:13. Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you Jeremiah 1:5. Jesus said, Allow the little children to come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these Matthew 19:14. To take that innocent life through abortion is to violate God's command, You shall not murder Exodus 20:13, and we must call it what it is, sin that requires repentance and the mercy of God. Yet we also know that God in His mercy can forgive and heal those who have participated in this, when they turn to Jesus Christ in repentance.

We also hear your anguish over abandonment, whether a wife abandoned by a husband, a husband by a wife, a daughter, a son, a brother, a sister, or a friend betrayed, and children left with no house, no family, no refuge. We take comfort together in the promises you quoted, When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up Psalm 27:10, and Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you Isaiah 49:15. Even when all earthly supports fail, the Lord remains our refuge and shelter. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1. And nothing can separate us from His love, For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God's love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord Romans 8:38-39.

We must also gently correct and rebuke what is not aligned with God's will in this request. We cannot pray for the extermination of a neighbor's generation or that they die and not see the next generation, even if we believe they have caused sabotage or spoken false prophecy. Vengeance belongs to the Lord, and we are commanded to pray for repentance and mercy, not for destruction. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave room for God's wrath Romans 12:19. We also rebuke the work of false prophecy, gossiping and distraction that brings disorder to neighborhoods and environments, for God is not a God of confusion but of peace 1 Corinthians 14:33, and we are told to keep our tongue from evil and our lips from speaking deceit Psalm 34:13, and to speak truth in love.

We are thankful you invoked the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by trusting in His death and resurrection that we receive forgiveness for all sin, including the sin of abandonment and abortion, and receive eternal life.

So we pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up every child abandoned, every wife and husband forsaken, every son and daughter left alone, every brother and sister betrayed, and every person who has no house or shelter to refuge in. Be their Father to the fatherless, their defender, their provider, and bring godly people and godly marriages and families around them to care for them. We lift up every unborn baby who is hated by mother or father or despised by this world, every child lost to abortion or miscarriage. Lord, we entrust these innocent ones to Your care and mercy, believing You receive them into heaven and that they rest in peace with You. Forgive our nation and our neighbors for the shedding of innocent blood, and bring conviction and repentance where there is hardness of heart. Heal those who suffer guilt and trauma from abortion with Your forgiveness and compassion. For those who speak false prophecy and stir gossip and disorder, we ask that You silence lies, bring truth, and lead them to repentance rather than judgment. Provide shelter for the homeless, comfort for the lonely, and hope for the beggar who cries out for refuge, and protect minds from confusion and despair. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and let Your mercy and justice prevail. We ask all this in the saving and powerful name of Jesus Christ, amen.

We hear the weight you are carrying as you lift up so many people around you, children without homes, parents and families who feel abandoned, and little ones lost before birth. It is a lot to hold in prayer, and it shows a tender heart that you notice those who feel forgotten.

Grief over these kinds of losses is deep and very personal. No two people walk through it the same way, and what you are feeling as you intercede for your neighbors and community makes sense when so much loss is close by. It is normal for that sorrow to come in waves, and for it to affect sleep, energy and relationships too.

It can help not to carry this alone. We encourage you to stay rooted in a small circle where you can share these prayers out loud, perhaps a pastor or a couple of trusted believers who can stand with you and help you keep perspective when the needs feel overwhelming. Continuing to bring these names and situations to God, one at a time, can be steadier than trying to hold them all at once.

Father, in Jesus name we bring every child, every mother and father, every lonely neighbor before You. Receive those who have no refuge and comfort those who grieve. Give our friend rest and clarity as they pray, and show them how You are near to those who feel forsaken. Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

There is a weight of sorrow in the prayer you have poured out, and it has been heard with tenderness and with tears. The Lord knows what it is to be forsaken, to be left without house or family or friend to give refuge, and He knows the cry of the little ones who have no voice of their own.

We join you in prayer for all who suffer under this spirit of abandonment, for the wife forsaken by her husband and the husband forsaken by his wife, for parents who mourn children and for children who mourn parents, for sons and daughters left alone, for brothers and sisters scattered and betrayed, for every lonely child and every neighbor who wanders without shelter. May the Lord who is a Father to the fatherless and a Defender of the widow draw near to each one, and provide refuge, bread, shelter and faithful friends to support them. We ask that He would sweep the house and light the candle to seek out those who feel lost and unseen, as He sought Hagar in the wilderness when she fled and thought no man cared for her soul, and He asked her, where have you come from and where will you go.

We join you also in entrusting to His care the unborn who are despised or hated, the innocent who have been aborted or miscarried, and those whose lives have been taken before they could draw breath. The Scriptures you have quoted are precious and true, Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me, and, Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne. Though a mother may forget, yet will the Lord not forget. His mercy is tender and boundless, and His heaven is wide and large, with room for all who are received through Jesus Christ. We pray that He will take these little ones into His own keeping, and give rest and peace in His presence, for they are safe in the hands of Him who said, Unless you are converted and become as little children, you shall in no wise enter the kingdom of heaven.

We pray too for mercy upon those who have done this evil or consented to it, and for all who live under guilt and shame and gossip and disorder. Far be it from us to speak lightly of sin, for sin must be punished, yet mercy pleads with the sinner and says, God has no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. There is not one heaven for the great sinners and another for the little ones, but the same heaven for all who repent and trust in Jesus, for His blood is sufficient for the greatest sin. Friend, you will never get mercy for a great sin from a little God. He must be a great God to you, who pardons iniquity and passes by transgression. If any now feel sick unto death with sorrow and guilt, let them cry from the soul, God be merciful to me a sinner, and look for salvation only from the Lord, for salvation will come. His mercy goes before us, laid up in covenant in Christ before we had any being, and it follows us and overtakes us even when we flee.

So we pray, O Lord, have mercy. Establish those who are far from oppression and far from terror. Heal the brokenhearted and deliver them from their destructions. Turn faces that have been turned away, and give repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation. Let those who hope in Your mercy find comfort, for those who hope in Your mercy are those who fear You, and Your eye is upon them. Let Your goodness be praised and Your wonderful works be declared with rejoicing.

We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only Refuge and Advocate, who bore our sins and who lives to intercede for us. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your prayer and we join you in bringing these heavy burdens before the Lord with compassion and with hope in His mercy.

We pray for all who know the pain of abandonment, those who have lost family, who have been forsaken by wife or husband, by parents or children, by brother or sister or friend, and who now have no house or refuge or shelter. Scripture promises that though father and mother may forsake us, the Lord will receive us, and that even if a mother could forget the child at her breast, the Lord will not forget His own. We ask God to be their refuge and shelter, to provide for their needs, to comfort the lonely, and to draw near to every child who feels alone and without support.

We also lift up every unborn child who is despised or rejected, every innocent life lost through abortion or miscarriage. We entrust these little ones to the care of God who formed them, asking Him in His mercy to receive them into His presence and to grant them rest and peace with Him. We pray for mothers and fathers who are tempted to reject their children, that God would give them compassion, courage and help to choose life, and for all who have taken part in the taking of unborn life, that they would find conviction, repentance and forgiveness through Jesus Christ alone, for there is salvation in no other name.

We pray against a spirit of abandonment and destruction that seeks to tear families apart and to end generations, and we ask the Lord to bring healing where there has been betrayal, gossip and falsehood, and to restore what has been broken according to His will.

We encourage you to persevere in prayer even when answers seem delayed. God does not turn away from our supplication but uses even waiting and trial to draw us closer to Himself, that we may continually flee to Him as to a safe refuge and abide there. As a loving father and mother draws a child back to their arms, so the Lord draws us to His own heart when we seek Him.

May the Lord in His mercy hear these prayers, provide shelter for the homeless, comfort for the abandoned, protection for the unborn, and healing for families. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, trusting in His grace and mercy. Amen.

Your prayer reflects a deep burden for those who are suffering abandonment and loss, for families that have been broken, for children left alone, and for unborn lives that are despised or destroyed. God sees all of this grief, and His Word speaks directly to it.

You quoted Psalm 27 verse 10, though my father and my mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me. That is a true promise. When earthly family fails, when a husband or wife walks away, when a mother or father rejects a child, when brothers, sisters and friends turn aside, the Lord does not turn away. Isaiah 49 verse 15 asks, can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne. Even if that human compassion fails, God says He will not forget. He receives, He remembers, and He has compassion.

Scripture also tells us in Isaiah 53 verse 4 that He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows, and the word there includes our sicknesses and infirmities. Jesus showed this when He walked among people, healing sickness, touching those no one else would touch, and having authority over evil spiritual powers. He has power in the physical realm and in the spiritual realm, and His healings were a sign of the mercy He came to bring.

We do not always understand healing. Sometimes it is instant and can be felt in a moment. Sometimes it is gradual, through the natural processes God Himself built into our bodies, which are no less divine because they are natural. Sometimes the healing God does is in the mind and emotions, mending the deep wounds and scars left by abandonment and violence. We do not know why some are healed in one way and others in another, but we can trust His compassion and wisdom in every case.

Jesus also knows the pain of rejection by His own family, and He knows the grief of parents who lose a child. When He raised a little girl, it was out of compassion for her grieving parents. For her sake He could have left her in peace, but for their sake He brought her back. He understands the wailing that comes with death. In that culture people would even hire those who were skilled in lamenting to express the depth of loss so the whole community would know. God hears that kind of grief without needing it to be performed. He knows the loss of a family, as Job knew it, and He knows how grief can torment us with thoughts of if only I had done this or that. He does not want you to be crushed by that torment. Even pain and grief, though never good in themselves, can be tools He uses to shape character and to draw us closer to Him, not because He delights in suffering but because He redeems it.

You also carry a burden for children who never had a chance to be born, whether through abortion or miscarriage. It is right to entrust those innocent lives to God's care and mercy. We can ask Him in the name of Jesus Christ to receive them, for His mercy is great and His love for children is clear throughout Scripture. We rest in the hope that He is just and compassionate beyond what we can comprehend, and that those little ones are safe with Him.

For those who are abandoned without house, family or friend to give refuge, Scripture gives another comfort. When blood family is absent or broken, God gives a family of faith where the bond in Christ can be even closer than natural ties. He is a refuge and shelter Himself, and He often provides that shelter through His people.

So we pray with you. Father, in the name of Jesus, have mercy on those who are abandoned and alone, on wives and husbands forsaken, on sons and daughters and mothers and fathers who have been left, on children with no home and on every unborn child rejected or taken. Receive those whom others have forsaken. Comfort those who mourn and heal what is broken in body, mind and spirit, whether instantly or gradually according to Your wisdom. Deliver from gossip, falsehood and confusion, and lead us into truth and love. Provide refuge, shelter and faithful community for those with nowhere to go, and let all who suffer know they are not forgotten by You. Bring salvation through Jesus Christ alone, and help us to walk in Your ways regarding life, marriage and family. Amen.
