We join with you in bringing this heavy burden before the Lord, for we hear your heart for those who suffer abandonment and for the precious unborn who are despised and destroyed, and we grieve with you over the brokenness of families and neighborhoods where disorder and spiritual darkness have taken hold.
We affirm what you have rightly remembered from Scripture, that God sees and receives those who are forsaken. Psalm 27:10 says When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up. And Isaiah 49:15 says Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you. Even when a mother or father rejects their child, even when a husband abandons his wife or a wife her husband, even when children are left alone without house or refuge, the Lord does not forget. He is a Father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. God sets the lonely in families Psalm 68:5-6, and He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1.
We must speak clearly about the shedding of innocent blood, for every unborn child is known and formed by God. Psalm 139:13 says For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb. Jeremiah 1:5 says Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. To willfully take that life through abortion is to violate the command You shall not murder Exodus 20:13, and we rebuke the abortive spirit and the culture of death that treats children as disposable. We also rebuke the practice of witchcraft, manipulation and false prophecy that you mentioned as bewitching the environment, for Scripture warns that such things are an abomination to the Lord and lead people away from truth. Deuteronomy 18:10-12 and Galatians 5:19-21 make clear that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God unless they repent.
We also gently correct the desire to see a neighbor's generation exterminated or ruined for their sabotage and false prophecy. While we understand righteous anger at sin and injustice, vengeance belongs to God alone. Romans 12:19 says Avenge not yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. Leviticus 19:18 calls us to love our neighbor as ourselves. Our prayer must not be for extermination, but for repentance, that those who do evil would turn from their ways and live, and that the innocent would be protected. We are called to bless and not curse, and to overcome evil with good.
We also see your pain over families torn apart, where wives and husbands and sons and daughters are abandoned and betrayed, even by friends, and children are left alone without shelter. This grieves the heart of God, for He designed marriage to be a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and family to be a place of refuge and faithfulness. When that covenant is broken through abandonment, betrayal or sexual sin outside of marriage, whether fornication or adultery, it wounds deeply and leaves many homeless in heart and in body. We pray for restoration where possible, for godly marriages that honor Him, and for courtship that seeks a believing spouse with marriage as the goal, rather than relationships that lead to abandonment.
We thank you that you closed your request in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by His blood that mercy is offered even for the sin of murder and abandonment, if there is repentance and faith in Him.
We pray together now in Jesus name, Father, we bring before You every child who has been aborted, miscarried, or rejected in the womb, and we ask Your mercy to receive them into Your heavenly care, for You love them and You formed them. Forgive our nation and our neighborhoods for the shedding of innocent blood and turn our hearts to cherish life. We lift up every person who knows the suffering of abandonment, every wife left alone, every husband betrayed, every son and daughter and brother and sister who feels forsaken, every child without a home or family or friend to refuge them, and every person crying out as a beggar for shelter. Be their shelter, be their family, set the lonely in families and provide homes for the homeless. Heal the trauma of betrayal and break the power of every bewitching and false prophetic word spoken over neighborhoods, let Your truth shine and let Your peace rest upon those homes. Bring conviction to those who do evil, that they would repent and not see ruin, but find mercy in Christ. Comfort those who mourn lost family and lost children, and let them know they are not forgotten, for You have engraved them on the palms of Your hands. Provide refuge, provision, and godly community for the alone, and raise up Your people to care for orphans and widows in their distress. We ask all this in the merciful and mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone saves, amen.
