We stand before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up the profound sorrow and anguish expressed in this plea. The loss of unborn children, whether through abortion, miscarriage, or abandonment, is a grievous wound upon the heart of humanity, and we mourn with those who mourn. The Scriptures declare that God knits us together in our mothers’ wombs (Psalm 139:13-16), and every life, from conception, is fearfully and wonderfully made in His image. To despise or destroy that life is a violation of His holy design, and we must confront this truth with both conviction and compassion.

The pain of abandonment, whether by parents, spouses, children, or friends, echoes the brokenness of a fallen world. Yet even in the depths of despair, the Lord does not forsake His own. As Psalm 27:10 assures us, "Though my father and my mother have forsaken me, yet Yahweh will take me up." And in Isaiah 49:15, the Lord asks, "Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you." God’s love is steadfast, even when human love fails. He is the Father to the fatherless, the Defender of the weak, and the Comforter of the brokenhearted.

We must also address the grave sin of abortion with clarity and urgency. The Bible is unmistakable: life begins at conception (Jeremiah 1:5), and to take innocent life is an affront to the Creator. Yet even in this darkness, there is hope in the gospel of Jesus Christ. For those who have participated in abortion, whether by choice, coercion, or circumstance, there is forgiveness and healing at the cross. Jesus bore the weight of all sin, including this, and His blood washes clean those who repent and turn to Him (1 John 1:9). We pray for conviction, not condemnation, and for a turning away from this culture of death toward a culture of life.

For those who have suffered miscarriage or the loss of children, we grieve with you. The Lord collects every tear in His bottle (Psalm 56:8) and holds the little ones who never drew breath in His tender care. We entrust them to His mercy, believing that He welcomes them into His presence, where there is no more sorrow or pain (Revelation 21:4).

For the abandoned, the betrayed, and the lonely, we declare that God is your refuge. He sets the solitary in families (Psalm 68:6) and provides shelter for the homeless. We pray for provision, for community, and for the strength to trust in Him when all earthly supports fail. If you are without a home, a family, or a friend, cry out to Jesus, for He is the friend who sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24).

And to those who may not yet know Christ as Savior, we must proclaim this truth: salvation is found in no one else. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so today. Repent of your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and receive the gift of eternal life.

Let us now lift our voices together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts burdened by the weight of sin, sorrow, and loss in this broken world. We mourn the lives of the unborn who have been taken by abortion, miscarriage, or abandonment. Lord, we trust that You receive these little ones into Your arms, where they are safe and loved beyond measure. Comfort those who grieve their loss, and bring healing to those who bear the guilt of past choices. Lead them to the forgiveness and restoration found only in Jesus Christ.

For those who have been abandoned, by parents, spouses, children, or friends, we ask that You be their refuge. Provide for their needs, surround them with godly community, and remind them that You will never leave nor forsake them. Heal their wounds and restore their hope.

We pray against the spirit of death that seeks to destroy life in the womb and the spirit of abandonment that seeks to isolate and despair. Break the chains of generational sin and rebellion, and turn hearts toward You. Raise up a generation that values life, cherishes family, and walks in Your ways.

Father, we ask for mercy upon our land. Convict us of sin, soften hardened hearts, and draw all people to Yourself. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Author of life and the Savior of our souls. Amen.

You have laid a vast and aching need before the Lord, and we believe He hears every name and every cry that you have lifted, even those you carry unnamed in your heart.

When we feel like a beggar at the door of mercy, it is no small thing to bring the brokenness of others there too. Your prayer for aborted and miscarried babies, and for all who have been forsaken by the ones who should have loved them most, reflects the heart of the Father who never abandons His children. He treasures every life, and He draws near to the crushed in spirit.

We want to gently remind you that even when human love fails, God’s care never wavers. The truth that the Lord receives the forsaken is not just a verse, it is a steady anchor for those who feel unmoored. So keep entrusting these little ones and these hurting people to Jesus. Your prayers are not mere words; they are acts of mercy in a world that can be so harsh.

If you know a neighbor who is grieving the loss of her unborn babies, perhaps the simplest kindness, a quiet meal left at the door, a note letting her know she is not forgotten, could be one way your prayer takes on hands and feet. Your presence may be the first shelter someone finds.

Lord, gather in your arms every child who has been taken before they could draw breath. For all who have been abandoned, by parent, spouse, child, or friend, be their refuge and their home. For the brokenhearted who pray as a beggar at the gate of mercy, pour out your compassion and remind them they are held securely in your love. In Jesus’ name we pray.

The cry of your heart is laid bare before the throne of God, and it is well that it is so, for in such sorrow there is no other refuge. The tender mercy of our God is the sole hope for the desolate and the broken. When father and mother forsake, the Lord receives; the living God forgets not the helpless. He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them in His bosom. Yet what a horror is this sin of abortion, the murder of the unborn, the extermination of a generation. It is the bitter fruit of a world that has cast off the fear of the Almighty.

But oh, even for this there is mercy, mercy through the blood of Jesus Christ, who came to seek and to save that which was lost. God’s mercy is sovereign and free. He finds souls in the desert, as He found Hagar in her extremity, and calls them by name. That mercy asks no payment from the sinner; it is all of grace. It comes to the very chief of sinners, to the woman who has taken the life of her own child, to the man who has urged it, to all who are crushed under the weight of their guilt. The errand of mercy is to the lost, the outcast, the gates of hell’s deserving. Yet mark this: the mercy of God never leaves a soul in its sin. Where mercy truly comes, it brings a new creation, new loves and new hates. If you cling to the world’s ways and claim His mercy, you deceive yourself. The first work of mercy is conversion, a turning from darkness to light.

Therefore, let your prayer be not only that the little ones be taken to heaven, for we may entrust them to the Judge of all the earth who does right, but also that those who have done this great evil might find repentance and life. Cry to God to stay the sword of justice, for He is slow to anger, and mercy holds back the wrath. While you are yet speaking, He hears. The God of mercy goes before His people, forestalling them with loving-kindness. There is a sacrifice; justice is satisfied in Jesus Christ. Look to Him crucified, and there is pardon full and free. Prayer is the forerunner of mercy; it sweetens the blessing when it comes.

And for yourself, if you feel abandoned and without a home in this world, know that the Lord is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. In your desolation, He is a shelter. The great Interpreter, the Messenger of the covenant, can speak peace to your troubled soul. Trust not in a false hope, a mere notion of mercy without regeneration. Fall at the Saviour’s feet, confess your need, and you shall prove that He is plenteous in mercy to all who call upon Him.

The innocent children, lowly and simple, are able to deliver the guilty by their prayers, for the kingdom of heaven is reserved for those who imitate them. When you lift up the unborn who have been despised and abandoned, know that these little ones entreat God for mercy with a voice that pierces the heavens. Trust in this, and let faith steady your heart: God, who is without beginning and unborn, is trusted with what reason cannot see. If we rely on faith to believe He is self-existing and unborn, how much more should we believe that in His unfathomable goodness He gathers the souls of these innocents to Himself? His mercy is deeper than a mother's compassion.

You mourn, and rightly so. Yet hear the promise: those who mourn shall be comforted, and the merciful shall obtain mercy. All these blessings shadow out the heavenly kingdom. But in your grief, do not let the root of bitterness choke out mercy. An excellent thing is mercy! Will you ask God to forgive your own debts while you refuse to forgive those who have abandoned or betrayed you? If you desire pardon, you must also pardon. Prayer without almsgiving, without a merciful heart, is unfruitful; mercy is the great light that breaks forth and the oil that quenches the fire. Nothing so attracts God to us as mercy, and nothing so incenses Him as pitilessness. Therefore, let your compassion be genuine, springing from a pure root, not stained by covetousness. Show mercy to the needy; forgive every wrong. In this you reflect your Father in heaven, and by this you lay up for yourself the garment of the kingdom and deliverance from the fire. The merciful soul honors God, and God will surely honor it.

What you are describing is a wound so deep it seems beyond healing. The image of a mother not having compassion on the child she has borne, the thought of little ones rejected or lost before they could draw breath, speaks of a sorrow that touches the very heart of God. The cry you have lifted up is not lost on Him.

The Scriptures give us a promise that stands directly against this kind of heartbreak. Though a father and a mother might forsake a child, the Lord will receive that little one. This is the foundation we stand on. He is the God who remembers us in our very lowest state, whose eyes roam the whole earth looking for those He can show His strength on behalf of. He does not need us to earn His compassion. It is His very nature to be merciful, because His mercy endures forever. We do not create this mercy with our prayers or our grief. We lean our full weight upon it because it is already there, as high and as vast as the heavens are above the earth.

God’s mercy is not a thin layer that can be used up. It springs from His own sovereign will, as He declared: I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. This is not a cold statement, but a deeply comforting one. It means that His mercy does not depend on the worthiness of the one receiving it, but flows freely from the heart of the Giver. He was looking for a reason to show mercy when His people deserved judgment, and He has found that reason in the person of Jesus Christ. At the cross, mercy and truth met together. Justice was served for sin, so that mercy could be offered to the guilty without compromising His holiness.

The ultimate answer for every abandoned soul and for these unborn children rests not in a human home, but in the harbor of that divine mercy. Only God can take these babies to heaven, and we entrust them to the Maker of heaven and earth, the one who stretched out the skies and knows every star by name. He is the God who gives food to all flesh. Will He not give shelter and belonging to the innocent? He alone is their refuge. His care for them is not lesser than ours, but unimaginably greater, perfect, and eternal. We do not come to God demanding justice for them, as if they had done wrong. We come pleading His mercy, which is exactly what He delights to give. We cry out with the blind man on the roadside: Son of David, have mercy. And when we do, Jesus stands still to receive the one who calls.
