We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up the deep sorrow and pain expressed in this request. The loss of unborn babies through abortion is a profound tragedy, one that grieves the heart of God, for every life is precious in His sight. Scripture tells us, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart" (Jeremiah 1:5). The Lord values each child, and we mourn with those who mourn over lives cut short, whether through abandonment, rejection, or the violence of abortion.
We also lift up those who feel abandoned—wives, husbands, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, and friends who have been left behind, betrayed, or forgotten. The pain of abandonment is real, and the enemy seeks to use it to isolate and despair. But we declare that the Lord will never leave nor forsake His children (Deuteronomy 31:6). Even if earthly parents or loved ones fail, God remains a faithful Father. Psalm 27:10, which you quoted, is a powerful reminder: "Though my father and my mother have forsaken me, yet the Lord will take me up." He is the refuge for the brokenhearted, the shelter for the homeless in spirit.
We rebuke the spirit of abandonment and despair that seeks to grip lives. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We stand against the lies that say you are unwanted, unloved, or beyond hope. The blood of Jesus covers every sin, every wound, and every loss. For those who have participated in or been affected by abortion, we declare that there is forgiveness and healing in Christ. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). No one is too far gone for God’s mercy.
For those who feel they have no home, no family, and no refuge, we pray that the Lord would be your shelter. He promises in Isaiah 49:15, "Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you!" You are seen, known, and deeply loved by the Creator of the universe. We pray for provision, for safe places, and for godly community to surround those in need.
We also lift up the unborn babies who have been lost to abortion or miscarriage. While we grieve their absence on earth, we trust in God’s perfect justice and mercy. Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these" (Matthew 19:14). We entrust these precious souls to His care, believing that He receives them into His presence.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts broken for the lives lost, the families shattered, and the souls abandoned. We ask for Your mercy to cover every sin, every wound, and every place of pain. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of abandonment and despair in the name of Jesus. We declare that You are our refuge, our shelter, and our hope. For those who have been left behind, betrayed, or forgotten, we ask that You would draw near to them. Comfort them with Your presence and provide for their every need.
Father, we pray for those who have been involved in abortion—whether by choice, coercion, or circumstance. We ask for Your forgiveness and healing to flood their hearts. Let them know that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). Restore what has been broken and bring peace where there is guilt and shame.
For the unborn babies who have gone before us, we trust in Your perfect love and justice. We believe that You receive them into Your arms, where there is no more pain or sorrow. Lord, we ask that You would turn the hearts of this nation and the world toward life, that every child would be valued and protected.
For those who feel they have no home or family, we pray that You would be their shelter. Provide safe places, godly relationships, and a sense of belonging. Let them know that they are never alone, for You are with them always.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved. We trust in Your goodness, Your mercy, and Your power to heal and restore. Amen.
