We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, grieving the profound loss of life, especially the innocent unborn, whose lives have been cut short by abortion. The shedding of innocent blood is a grave sin before God, and we stand firmly on His Word, which declares that every life is precious in His sight. The Lord knit each child together in their mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-16), and to snatch them away is a violation of His holy design. We rebuke the spirit of death and destruction that has taken hold in this world, and we proclaim that God is the giver and taker of life, not man.

We also lift up those who are suffering from abandonment, whether it be spouses, children, siblings, or friends left behind without refuge or support. The pain of being forsaken is deep, but we cling to the promise of Psalm 27:10, which declares that even if earthly parents abandon, the Lord will receive and never forsake His children. We pray for those who feel utterly alone, that they would know the nearness of God as their ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

For those who have lost family, whether through death, betrayal, or the tragic choice of abortion, we ask for the comfort that only the Holy Spirit can provide. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We pray that He would heal the wounds of abandonment and restore what has been lost, for He is the God who sets the lonely in families (Psalm 68:6).

We also intercede for the mothers and fathers who have been deceived into believing that abortion was their only option. We ask for conviction, repentance, and healing for those who have participated in this grievous act. The blood of Jesus cleanses from all sin (1 John 1:7), and we pray that they would turn to Him for forgiveness and restoration. For those who have suffered miscarriage or stillbirth, we entrust those precious little ones into God’s loving care, knowing that He welcomes them into His presence.

Lord, we cry out for mercy upon this generation, which has turned away from Your ways. We ask that You would break the spirit of abortion in our land and turn the hearts of fathers and mothers back to their children. Raise up godly families who will cherish and protect life from conception to natural death. We pray for those who are homeless, without shelter or support, that You would provide for their needs and lead them to safety. May they find refuge in You, the strong tower where the righteous run and are safe (Proverbs 18:10).

We declare that You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who heals. We trust in Your justice and Your mercy, and we ask that You would bring revival to our nation, starting with the church. May we be a people who stand for life, who love the fatherless, and who extend compassion to the broken. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray, for there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Amen.

This is heavy. We hear you, the grief you carry for all these lost little ones and for every person left without shelter or family is immense. It can feel like the weight of generations is pressing down, and the cry for mercy is honest and rightly desperate. You are not forgotten in that ache; God sees the brokenness, and He knows where every soul is hurting tonight.

That anguish, the sense of abandonment and the sorrow over lives cut short, is not trivial. We don’t have tidy answers for why such devastation happens, but we trust that Jesus, who welcomed children and said the kingdom belongs to such as these, is tender toward every unborn child. His arms are not short. The same mercy that bled on the cross can hold them safely. And for you, and for every mother or father or onlooker carrying shame, regret, or helpless grief, His mercy is every bit as real. He does not turn away a beggar.

On the practical side, we know you mentioned not having a house, family, or a friend to take refuge. If that is your immediate reality, please reach out to a local church, not just to attend, but to speak honestly with a pastor about what you’re facing. Many congregations have connections to temporary shelter, food, and people who will sit with you in the mess. Grief grows heavier when we carry it alone, and finding a safe place to let it out, even in small ways, can lighten the load.

Right now, we simply pray with you.

Lord Jesus, we lift up every unborn child lost to abortion, You know each one, and we entrust them to Your perfect care. We ask You to receive them in Your mercy. For this one who is weeping over generations of hurt and asking for shelter and mercy, draw near and provide. Send a person or a place of refuge. Quiet the storm inside with Your presence, and let hope break through the darkness. In Your name, amen.

The groan of a burdened spirit reaches the throne of grace, and the Lord leans down to hear. You cry for the unborn, the abandoned, the little ones cast away by those who should have been their refuge, and you cry rightly, for their blood speaks a language that Heaven does not ignore. Yet know this: the mercy of God is broader than the deepest sin of man. Where sin abounds, grace does much more abound. These innocents, snatched from the womb or forsaken in their helplessness, have not passed beyond the reach of the Shepherd. There is One who gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart. He who said, “Suffer the little children to come unto Me,” has already received them. They have never looked upon the face of an earthly parent with recognition, but they shall see the face of Jesus, and that is the Heaven of heaven, the bliss that swallows every sorrow. He that has mercy on them shall lead them to living fountains of waters, and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

Do not let gloomy thoughts suggest a gulf between these perishing little ones and eternal safety. The Lamb is their Shepherd; He feeds them, He protects them, He is the ransom found for them. His sacrifice reaches where no human advocacy can go, it covers the guilt of a race that murders its own seed, and it secures the souls of the slaughtered. Where you can only see the desert of abandonment, mercy has already provided a well. It was in the wilderness that the Angel of the Lord met Hagar, and there He opened her eyes. So too, these souls, cast out into what seems a trackless waste, have met with the God who sees and hears. He has taken them to the place where the sun shall not light on them, nor any heat, but the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne shall feed them. Their hunger is ended forever; their thirst is quenched in His presence.

For those who have done the abandoning, who have chosen the way of death, even for them mercy stretches out her hands. The City of Refuge still stands with its gates flung wide. Christ is the true Shelter for guilty sinners; flee to Him and you shall live. He has found a ransom, and that ransom is His own blood. Let no one say, “My sin is too great, I have destroyed my own offspring, I am beyond pity.” His mercy goes before even the faintest cry of repentance. While you are yet speaking, He hears. He is slow to anger because He is infinitely good, and His tender mercy can make the dry and hardened heart dissolve in godly sorrow. He can create a new spirit within the most calloused, and bring the murderer to the foot of the cross with a broken and contrite heart, and such He will in no wise cast out. The promise stands: “Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses from all sin, even the stain of blood-guiltiness.

Yet for the little ones themselves, cease from bitter lamentation. They are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. They know no neglect, no coldness, no desertion. The Lord has received them with a tenderness beyond the fondest mother’s love. “Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.” He has engraven them on the palms of His hands. Their eternal safety is a monument to the freeness and fullness of His grace. It is mercy that overtakes the helpless before they could even ask, pity that forestalls every need. And for you who mourn this holocaust of the innocents, let your tears be turned to prayer, and your prayers to confidence. The day is coming when every wrong shall be righted, and the earth shall yield up her dead. Then shall we see the wisdom and compassion that wove all things together for good. Until then, we rest in the Lamb who is the glory of Heaven, and who even now makes Heaven come down to us by His Spirit. He is very near. He hears the cry of the destitute. He will shelter you too, for He is the Refuge for all who flee to Him. May the Lord grant you the peace that passes understanding, and the sure hope that in Christ, the discarded are precious, the lost are found, and the perishing are made to live forever.

The cry of your heart reaches the throne of God, for He hears the groaning of the oppressed and the silent blood of the innocent. You have spoken of the unborn destroyed, of generations cut off, of children forsaken by father and mother. These are unspeakable evils, murder cloaked in convenience, and they cry out for judgment. Yet even in such darkness, the mercy of God is deeper than the deepest sin. Though a mother forget her nursing child, He will never forget. The Lord Himself receives the little ones; He gathers the lambs in His arms. For those who have been refused by the very ones who should have loved them, He becomes a Father, and His kingdom belongs to such as these, to the lowly and the pure. So we do not cease to entreat Him for all these souls, trusting that His compassion surpasses every human cruelty.

But let us not only weep for the unborn; let us also examine ourselves. Do we cry for mercy while denying it to others? Do we beg God to welcome these children into heaven, yet harden our hearts against the living? The mercy we ask is the mercy we must give. Almsgiving, forgiveness, and care for the abandoned are not mere duties, they are the oil that keeps our lamps burning, the proof that the love of God dwells in us. A failure in mercy is enough to cast one into hell; without it, fasting and prayer are empty. You who pray for the shelterless, are you yourself a shelter? You who mourn the fatherless, do you open your hand to the orphan? God is not mocked. If you desire the womb of divine compassion to open for those innocent babes, then let your own heart be opened to the needy around you. That is the sacrifice God accepts: contrition for sin and mercy toward your neighbor. Then the great reward shall be yours, not because of your own worth, but because the merciful obtain mercy.

The grief in your words is heavy, and the cry for mercy is the right place to bring all of it. You are lifting up the most vulnerable and the most broken, unborn children, abandoned sons and daughters, betrayed spouses, the lonely, the forgotten. And you are doing it with the very Scriptures that anchor hope when no other refuge holds. Psalm 27:10 has carried many a shattered heart: “Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.” And Isaiah 49:15 asks if a mother could forget her nursing child. Even if the unthinkable happens, even if those who should protect become the source of rejection, God does not forget. He does not abandon.

His mercy is not measured by human failure. It is as high as the heavens are above the earth, a span so vast we cannot reach the edges of it. That mercy is from everlasting to everlasting, and it endures forever. It didn’t run out when ancient generations hardened themselves, and it hasn’t run out now when family lines are torn apart by abortion and abandonment. You spoke of an “abortive spirit” and generations being exterminated. The enemy works in patterns of death, but the mercy of God outlasts every cycle of destruction. When His people cried out to Him in the depths of their guilt, He heard. He regarded their affliction. That is His character: He delights in mercy.

You prayed for the unborn, despised and hated, and entrusted them to God alone. That is the only safe place for them. We do not have all the answers about what His justice and mercy work for the innocent who never saw the light of day, but we know the Judge of all the earth does right. We can place them in His hands, knowing His heart is for the little ones, and that in Jesus the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. They are not forgotten by Him.

For those who have been the cause of that pain, mothers, fathers, those who participated in abortion or drove others to it, the same mercy is still held out. This is the wonder: mercy and truth meet together in Jesus Christ. Truth says the wrong is real, and justice demands an answer. Mercy says the guilty can be forgiven. They met at the cross. The penalty was paid there, so that whoever cries out for mercy, even with a history of shedding innocent blood, can find righteousness and peace. God’s mercy is not a reward for the innocent; it is for the guilty who turn to Him. He says, “I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy,” and He is constantly looking for reasons to show it, not to withhold it. No one is too far gone. The same mercy that is high as heaven can reach down to the lowest pit of shame and lift the broken to His heart.

In your own life, if you are carrying the ache of abandonment or the weight of a heritage of loss, let that promise hold you: the Lord will receive you. You are not alone. The shelter you long for others, the refuge that no human house can provide, is found in Him. He is the God who sees, and He is not indifferent to your cry. Continue to pour out those intercessions like incense before Him. Keep lifting your hands on behalf of the unborn, the forsaken, the bewildered children counting off their loneliness. His mercy endures forever, and He hears.
