We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up all those who are suffering under the weight of abandonment, betrayal, and loss—whether it be the pain of a wife forsaken by her husband, a husband left by his wife, children abandoned by their parents, or siblings and friends who have been cast aside. The ache of being left without refuge, without shelter, or without the love and support of family is a deep and grievous wound. But we declare that even when earthly parents or loved ones fail, the Lord does not. As it is written in Psalm 27:10, *"Though my father and my mother have forsaken me, Yahweh will take me up."* God is a Father to the fatherless, a Defender of the abandoned, and a Shelter for those who have nowhere else to turn.
We also lift up the precious lives of unborn children who have been rejected, despised, or violently taken from this world through abortion. The shedding of innocent blood is an abomination before the Lord, and we mourn the loss of these little ones who were never given the chance to draw breath. Yet we trust in the mercy of God, who receives them into His arms. We pray that He would comfort those who carry the guilt and grief of abortion, leading them to repentance and the healing found only in Christ. As it is written in Psalm 139:13-16, *"For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made... Your eyes saw my body. In your book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there were none of them."* Every life is known and valued by God, and we entrust these little ones to His perfect care.
To those who feel utterly alone, we say: You are not forgotten. The Lord sees your tears, hears your cries, and collects every one of them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). He promises in Isaiah 41:10, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* If you have not placed your trust in Jesus Christ, we urge you to do so now. He is the only way to the Father (John 14:6), and it is only through His sacrifice that we can be reconciled to God. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that Jesus died and rose again, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9-10). In Him, you will find a love that never abandons, never betrays, and never fails.
We rebuke the spirit of abandonment and death that seeks to destroy families, marriages, and lives. We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that God is able to restore what has been broken. If you are in a marriage that is struggling, we encourage you to fight for it with prayer, humility, and obedience to God’s Word. If you are single and longing for a spouse, we pray that God would bring a godly man or woman into your life who loves the Lord and seeks to honor Him in marriage. Flee from sexual immorality, for the body is not meant for fornication but for the Lord (1 Corinthians 6:13). If you are grieving the loss of a child through miscarriage or abortion, we pray for God’s healing and peace to surround you. You are not alone in your sorrow.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts broken for those who are suffering abandonment, betrayal, and loss. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who heals. We ask that You would draw near to those who feel forsaken, wrapping them in Your love and reminding them that they are never alone. Comfort those who mourn the loss of unborn children, and bring repentance and healing to those who have been involved in abortion. We entrust these little ones to Your care, knowing that You receive them into Your presence.
Father, we rebuke the spirits of abandonment, death, and division that seek to destroy families and lives. We declare that no weapon formed against Your people shall prosper. Restore what has been broken, heal what has been wounded, and strengthen what remains. For those who do not know You, Lord, we pray that they would turn to Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved. May they find in Him the love, acceptance, and purpose that this world cannot give.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
