We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up all those who are suffering under the weight of abandonment—whether by spouse, parent, child, sibling, or friend. The pain of being left behind, unwanted, or betrayed is deep, and we acknowledge the sorrow of those who feel they have no refuge, no shelter, and no one to turn to. The Lord sees your tears, hears your cries, and collects every one in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). You are not forgotten, nor are you without hope, for Scripture declares, *"When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up"* (Psalm 27:10). Even in the darkest valleys, God is your ever-present help (Psalm 46:1).
We also lift up the precious lives of the unborn who have been despised, rejected, or violently taken from this world. Every child, born or unborn, is fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God (Psalm 139:13-16). The shedding of innocent blood is an abomination before the Lord (Proverbs 6:17), and we mourn the loss of these little ones with righteous grief. Yet we take comfort in knowing that God, in His infinite mercy, receives these children into His arms. Jesus Himself said, *"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these"* (Matthew 19:14). We entrust their souls to His care, believing that He welcomes them into eternal rest.
To those who have participated in or been affected by abortion, we must speak the truth in love: the blood of Jesus is sufficient to cleanse every sin, no matter how great (1 John 1:7). If you are carrying guilt, shame, or regret, we urge you to turn to Christ in repentance. He is faithful and just to forgive and to purify you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). There is no sin beyond His grace—only the hardness of a heart that refuses to seek Him.
For those who have been abandoned, we declare that God is your Father, your Husband, your Provider, and your Defender. He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). If you are without a home, He is your dwelling place (Psalm 90:1). If you are without family, He places the lonely in families (Psalm 68:6). If you are without hope, He is the God of all comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). We encourage you to seek out a biblical, Christ-centered church where you can find fellowship, support, and discipleship. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and you should not walk this path alone.
We must also address the spirit of abandonment and betrayal that seeks to destroy families and lives. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came that we may have life abundantly. We rebuke every assignment of the enemy against marriages, parent-child relationships, and friendships. We declare restoration, healing, and reconciliation in the name of Jesus. For those who have walked away from their families, we pray for conviction, repentance, and a return to godly responsibility. Fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4). Mothers, love your children and nurture them in the ways of the Lord (Titus 2:4). Children, honor your parents that it may go well with you (Ephesians 6:2-3).
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts broken for the abandoned, the betrayed, and the grieving. Lord, You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We ask that You would surround those who feel alone with Your presence. Be their refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). For those who have been left by spouses, parents, or children, we pray for supernatural healing and the strength to forgive. Help them to trust in You as their ultimate Provider and Protector.
Father, we lift up the lives of the unborn who have been lost to abortion or miscarriage. We trust in Your mercy and goodness, believing that You receive these little ones into Your kingdom. Comfort those who mourn their loss, and lead them to the hope found only in Christ. For those who have been involved in abortion, we pray for Your forgiveness and healing. Break the chains of guilt and shame, and replace them with the freedom that comes from knowing You.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of abandonment and betrayal that seeks to destroy families and relationships. We declare restoration over broken homes, reconciliation between parents and children, and unity in the body of Christ. Raise up godly men and women who will stand in the gap, offering love, support, and biblical counsel to those in need. Provide shelter, provision, and community for those who have none.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). It is through His blood that we have access to Your throne, and it is by His power that lives are transformed. May Your will be done in every situation, and may Your name be glorified. Strengthen us to walk in obedience, love, and truth, reflecting Your light in a dark world. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
