‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭2‬:‭23‬-‭24‬ ‭
“And Elisha went up from thence unto Beth-el: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little boys out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two boys of them.”

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, grieving with you over the loss of your mother to cancer, a battle no one should have to endure, especially while facing the added cruelty of neighbors who have chosen to inflict further pain. The Scripture you referenced in 2 Kings 2:23-24 is a sobering reminder of how seriously God takes mockery, disrespect, and the defilement of His servants. The boys who taunted Elisha did not merely offend a man, they mocked the anointing of God upon him, and the Lord responded with swift judgment. This passage is not about petty vengeance but about the holiness of God and the weight of His name. We must recognize that the enemy seeks to use people as instruments of chaos, but we do not war against flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12). The smiles, laughter, and malicious actions you describe are not of God; they are demonic assignments designed to spread discord, grief, and ruin.

First, we must address the spiritual warfare at hand. The sabotage, the spreading of inappropriate photos, and the mockery are not merely human actions, they are fueled by spiritual forces of wickedness. We rebuke every demonic spirit of mockery, discord, bullying, and disrespect operating in your neighborhood and beyond. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we command these spirits to be bound and cast out. "The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet" (Romans 16:20). We declare that no weapon formed against you or your family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and every tongue that rises against you in judgment shall be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). The Lord is your defender, and He will arise on your behalf.

We also rebuke the human agents involved in this cruelty. Proverbs 14:13 warns, "Even in laughter the heart may ache, and the end of joy may be grief." The smiles and laughter of those who delight in your suffering are hollow and will not go unnoticed by God. We pray that their hearts would be softened, that they would see the error of their ways, and that the Lord would grant them repentance. If they refuse to turn from their wickedness, we trust that God will deal with them in His justice. "Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says the Lord" (Romans 12:19).

For you, dear one, we pray for comfort and strength. The loss of your mother is a deep wound, and the added burden of this harassment only compounds your grief. But we remind you that Jesus is acquainted with sorrow (Isaiah 53:3) and that He collects every tear in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). He sees your pain, and He will not leave you to face it alone. We pray that the Lord would surround you with His peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and that He would heal your broken heart (Psalm 147:3). May He give you the strength to forgive those who have wronged you, not because they deserve it, but because it is the path to your own freedom (Colossians 3:13).

We also lift up the memory of your mother. Though her battle with cancer was hard, we trust that she is now at rest in the presence of the Lord, free from pain and suffering. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints" (Psalm 116:15). We pray that the Lord would comfort you with the hope of reunion in eternity, where there will be no more tears, no more pain, and no more death (Revelation 21:4).

Finally, we must address the importance of the name of Jesus in this battle. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father (John 14:6), and it is only by His name that we can rebuke demonic forces. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). This is the foundation upon which all spiritual warfare is built.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts broken for this dear one who has endured so much. We ask that You would be their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Lord, we rebuke every spirit of mockery, discord, and bullying that has been unleashed against them. We command these spirits to flee in the name of Jesus Christ. Bind the enemy’s hands and shut his mouth, Lord. Let no weapon formed against this family prosper.

Father, we pray for the neighbors involved in this cruelty. Soften their hearts, Lord. Open their eyes to the pain they have caused and lead them to repentance. If they refuse to turn from their wickedness, we trust You to deal with them in Your justice. But for this dear one, we ask that You would pour out Your comfort and peace. Heal their grief, Lord, and fill them with the hope of eternity. Surround them with Your love and protection.

We also lift up the memory of their mother. Thank You, Lord, for the time You gave them with her. We trust that she is now in Your presence, free from pain and suffering. Comfort this dear one with the hope of reunion in Your kingdom, where there will be no more tears or sorrow.

Lord, we declare that this family is covered by the blood of Jesus. No demonic assignment will prosper against them. We thank You for Your faithfulness and for the victory we have in Christ. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We are so sorry for the death of your mama, and we hear how much the neighbor’s photos and mockery are adding to your grief. When you are already carrying a heavy loss, cruelty and laughter can feel unbearable, and your anger is understandable. We won’t pretend to know what is in another person’s heart, but we know the hurt is real and the harassment needs to stop.

A practical next step: if photos are being spread to bully or shame, save what you can, including dates and messages, and bring them to someone you trust, like a church leader or local authorities. You do not have to manage this alone. But even before that, please let yourself grieve your mama without letting this conflict become the whole story of her life. The Lord knows your tears, and He is not laughing at them.

Father, we ask You to hold this person close in the loss of their mother. Comfort them with Your presence, and give them safe people to walk with them. Put a stop to the harassment and confusion around them, and give them wisdom about what to report and what to release. Protect their heart from bitterness, and let Your peace be bigger than the noise. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Let this be said plainly: the Lord sees every malicious photograph, every sneering smile, and every act of sabotage that has been aimed at you and at your dying mother. He is not indifferent to the cruelty of those who make sport of another's grief. The Holy One weeps with those who weep, and the laughter of the wicked is an abomination to Him. In the name of Jesus Christ I join with you in rebuking the unclean spirit of mockery, the demonic glee over suffering, the spirit of bullying and discord that spreads these images through the neighborhood. Let that power be silenced, let its poison be stopped, and let the malicious photographs come to nothing. May the Lord confound the devices of those who delight in your mother's pain.

Yet hear a careful word. You have cited the story of Elisha and the she bears, and I must tell you plainly that this is not the pattern for your private quarrel. That was a unique judgment upon those who mocked God's prophet and God's word under the old covenant. You and I are not called to call down bears upon our neighbors. We may rebuke the demonic power, but we must leave the souls of men to the Judge of all the earth. Our Lord Jesus was mocked upon the cross and reviled, yet He prayed, Father, forgive them. The servant is not greater than his Lord. The archers sorely grieved Joseph, shot at him, and hated him, but his bow abode in strength; he did not turn his bow upon them. He rested while they raged. Yes, we can bear mockery and much more for His sake who died for us.

Therefore guard your own heart. The evil one would use this injury to plant bitterness in you, and that would be a second grief added to your mother's cancer. Do not let the mockers become bigger in your soul than Christ. Go before the Lord in brief, silent prayer as Nehemiah did. If there are unlawful photographs, remove what may be removed, seek lawful help if it is needed, and commit the rest to God. His banner is always the chief object of attack, but He is still lifted up. The adversary may strike, but the Banner is not torn down.

And this above all: turn your chief prayers to your mother. Her dying is under the eye of the Lord. If she knows Christ, death is gain. If she does not yet rest in Him, plead with her now to look to Jesus, for none but He can carry her through the valley. Do not let the neighbors' malice steal the hours that belong to her soul. Even in laughter the heart may ache, and the rejoicing of the wicked will end in grief, but the redeemed shall be shut in with God, far from the world of grief and sin.

May the God of all comfort overshadow you, may the power of Christ silence the mockers, and may your mother be carried into the arms of her Savior. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You are right to name this as evil. When someone smiles while spreading a photograph to wound a dying woman and her family, that is not harmless humor; it is malice, and the Lord sees it. The proverb you cite tells us their laughter may hide an aching heart, but it does not hide sin from God. In the name of Jesus Christ, I join you in rebuking the spirit of mockery and cruelty at work in this, and I ask him to silence it and to shield your mother and your household.

But I must correct your use of Elisha. Do not take the bears as your pattern for personal vengeance. Elisha was a prophet under the old covenant, and the judgment fell because the Lord’s word was despised. You are not the prophet, and your neighbors are not yours to curse. Christ commanded us to pray for those who mistreat us. Therefore we rebuke the sin and the unclean spirit, but we do not hand over the persons to destruction. If we ask God to ruin them, we become like them in our hearts, and the enemy wins a greater victory in us than he has won through their photographs.

Pray rather in this manner: Lord Jesus Christ, rebuke the spirit of mockery and malice. Let the images meant for shame be stopped and their harm confounded. Protect this family from disgrace. Be near the mother in her cancer, and grant her comfort, peace, and saving grace. Turn the hearts of the mockers to repentance, or if they will not turn, restrain them and be the judge.

Then keep your own soul. Do not return slander for slander or spread your own accusations in bitterness. If the photos are being circulated, bring the matter to those who can stop them and to the church for protection and truth. You may hate the cruelty, but you must not let hatred nest in you. That is the harder rebuke, and I give it to you in love.

Your burden over this mocking and cruel behavior in your neighborhood is heard, and the pain you describe is real. To see people smile and laugh while others suffer, to see misery and ruin treated as entertainment, and to see shameful photos spread to bully and dishonor others, is a deep disorder. You are right to quote Proverbs 14:13, that even in laughter the heart may ache and rejoicing may end in grief. That laughter is empty and God sees through it to the aching heart underneath, both in those who are hurt and in those who mock.

Scripture shows that such delight in doing harm and such disrespect for others is not merely human unkindness. There is a spiritual power behind it. Evil spirits can influence and control people, and when they do, people are able to do inhumane and malicious things they would not otherwise do. That spirit of mockery and discord is contagious when it is not confronted, spreading from one person to another and from one place to another. Satan often uses ridicule and mockery as a tool to discourage, to wound, and to tear down what is good. You have felt that discouragement as you have been targeted and as you have watched others be targeted.

God does not take this lightly. You mentioned when Elisha was mocked as he went up to Bethel, and how God brought judgment on those who mocked him. That account shows that God hears mockery against those who belong to Him and He will act as the righteous Judge. At the same time, the pattern given to us for how to respond is prayer. When Nehemiah and the people were mocked while doing the work of God, they did not return mockery for mockery. They prayed, Hear, O our God, for we are despised, and asked God to turn the reproach back on those who were doing wrong and to give justice. We are to bring the oath and the complaint before the altar of God in heaven, and ask Him to hear and to judge, condemning the wicked by bringing his way upon his own head and justifying the righteous.

Jesus has given His people authority over the powers of darkness. In His name there is power to rebuke evil spirits and to stand against every work of disorder and disrespect. Nothing shall by any means hurt those who abide in Him when they walk watchfully and keep their garments clean before Him. The greatest command is to love God with all the heart, soul, mind and strength, and the second is to love your neighbor as yourself. That love does not mean we approve of evil. It means we love God first, and from that love we seek what is truly good for our neighbor, which includes truth, respect, and protection from harm. Your neighbor is the one in need, the one who is suffering, including the family grieving the loss of a mother to cancer and those shamed by these photos.

So let us pray together in the name of Jesus Christ. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of mockery, bullying, and discord that delights in the suffering of others. We ask You to stop the spreading of these sabotaging pictures and to break the contagious power of this disrespect in this neighborhood and in every place it has spread. Convict those who smile at misery and bring them to repentance. Bring Your judgment upon wickedness and Your protection and justification upon those who have been hurt. Comfort those who mourn, especially those grieving this death from cancer, and heal the ache that hides behind both tears and false laughter. Let Your peace replace disorder, and let respect and mercy be restored. We ask You to guard every heart and home, and to let no weapon formed against Your people prosper. Keep us watching and close to You, trusting that You see, You hear, and You will act in Your perfect time. Amen.
