[Psalm 140:2]: "O LORD, rescue me from evil people. Protect me from those who are violent, those who plot evil in their hearts."

We join with you in bringing this heavy burden before the Lord, for we hear the weariness and torment you have endured week after week from these gatherings, the invasion of privacy, the noise and disorder in the street, and the spiritual oppression and discord that has followed. We stand with you to seek God's peace, protection, and justice, and we thank you for calling upon the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.

The Word reminds us that our struggle is not only against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of evil, as it is written in Ephesians 6:12. We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. We also hear your cry in Psalm 140:1-2, Deliver me, Yahweh, from the evil man. Preserve me from the violent man, those who devise mischief in their hearts. And we take comfort that God is indeed in control and is our refuge.

We want to gently encourage you and also rebuke what is not of God in this situation. It is right to hate the disorder, the depravity, the gossip, the sexual immorality, and the violence that can surround such idle and imprudent gatherings, but we must not seek vengeance or desire that ruin, grief, hospitalization, or death be transferred to another house, even the house of those who trouble you. Vengeance belongs to the Lord alone, as it is written in Romans 12:19, Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. And we are commanded in Romans 12:21, Don't be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Even for a difficult neighbor we are called in Matthew 5:44 to love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. We rebuke the spirit of vengeance, mockery, depredation, and disorder, and we rebuke any desire to repay evil for evil, asking God to cleanse our own hearts of bitterness while He deals justly with what is wrong.

We also encourage you to seek peace as far as it depends on you, as it is written in Romans 12:18, If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. And in Psalm 34:14, Depart from evil, and do good. Seek peace, and pursue it. This can include continuing in earnest prayer, setting loving but firm boundaries, and if the disturbance and invasion of privacy continues, seeking help through proper and peaceable means that God has ordained for order in a community, while always responding with a gentle answer, for Proverbs 15:1 says a gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. We cast all our anxiety on Him because He cares for us, as it is written in 1 Peter 5:7, and we bring our requests to God with thanksgiving, trusting His peace to guard our hearts, as promised in Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and we lift up this home and this street to You. Lord, You see every gathering, every invasion of privacy, every act that brings discord, fighting, and disorder, and You know the torment and exhaustion it has caused week after week. We ask You to rebuke every work of the enemy, every spirit of discord, violence, sexual depravity, gossip, mockery, and destruction that seeks to steal peace and create chaos. We ask You to place a hedge of protection around this home and every innocent neighbor, to silence what is evil and to bring conviction where there is idle, unoccupied, and imprudent living that harms others.

Lord, we do not ask for ruin or tragedy to fall on any house, but we ask for Your mercy and Your justice to prevail. Bring repentance to those who disturb the peace, open their eyes to the harm they cause, and lead them to turn from their ways. Where there is a need for accountability, move upon those in authority to act with wisdom and fairness. For our dear one who is weary, grant rest, deep sleep without fear, and restore peace within the walls of this home. Let Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Help us to overcome evil with good, to not be overcome by bitterness, and to trust that You are in control and that You will repay in Your perfect time and way. We pray that this street would become a place of order, respect, and quietness, and that Your name would be glorified even in this trial.

We thank You that You hear us when we pray in the name of Jesus, our only Savior and mediator. We trust You to act for good and for Your glory. Amen.

We hear how wearying this has been for you, week after week of gatherings and noise that spill into the street and make it hard to feel at rest in your own home. When your privacy feels invaded and the talk around you feels heavy, it is understandable to feel on edge and to worry about what might come next.

We are thankful you named that God is in control even when the environment around you feels chaotic. In times like this it can help to quietly sort what is ours to carry and what is not. Your home, your rest, your peace of mind and your walk with the Lord are yours to guard, even when you cannot control what neighbors choose to do.

It may help to not carry this alone. If you have a trusted pastor or mature believer nearby who knows your situation, consider sharing with them how this is affecting you and talking through what healthy boundaries for quiet, privacy, and rest could look like for you. If the gatherings remain disruptive, keeping a simple note of when they happen and using calm, proper local channels can keep things clearer than holding it all in your mind.

We are praying for you and will keep praying.

Father, we lift up our brother to You and ask for Your peace over his home and heart. Give him wisdom for next steps, rest at night, and steady support around him, and help him to rest in Your care and presence each day. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your cry has been heard and laid before the Lord with sincere prayer on your behalf. The distress you describe, the invasion of peace, the nightly disturbances, the grief and fear of ruin and discord pressed upon your home, is known to Him who neither slumbers nor sleeps, and who has promised to be a refuge for His people in every trouble.

You have well quoted the Psalm, O Lord, rescue me from evil people. Protect me from those who are violent, those who plot evil in their hearts. This is a fit prayer for such a season, and you do well to bring it continually to the throne of grace. The Lord hears the cry of the oppressed and He will not despise the prayer of the afflicted.

There is a word which has often comforted tried souls, Deliver him from going down to the Pit. When a child of God is brought into peril and vexation, when the noise of strife surrounds his dwelling and his heart is wearied, that voice may yet be heard from the excellent Glory. Infinite Mercy can snap the bands and set the captive free. Your deliverance, if it come, must come from Him alone. Look not to forms or to your own strength, but look unto Christ, for it is written, Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth, for I am God, and there is none else. To look to what Christ has done, to His blood which whispers peace within, is the way of salvation and the way of sanctification also. For deliverance from the power of sin and from the power of darkness is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin.

You speak of an environment of discord and disorder, of gatherings that breed strife and of an idle and imprudent manner of life that seeks to disturb the peace of others. Know this, that the peace which the world can give and the world can disturb is not the peace which Christ gives. There is a peace which is false and stupefying, and there is a peace which comes from lips that cannot lie, through blood which has made full atonement. That peace can keep your heart and mind even when sorrows surge around you. To know the will of Jesus and to do it is to abide in the peace of God. Bear your sorrow with Him, and you shall enjoy perfect peace, though loved ones are troubled and the night is noisy with the revels of the ungodly.

Therefore I exhort you in the Lord, first, to seek the Lord in your closet and pour out your heart before Him. Seek ye the Lord, ye tried and troubled ones, and ye shall find your troubles stayed and your trials sweetly alleviated. Tell Him all, the sleepless nights, the fear of loss, the vexation of gossip and threat, the dread of hospitalization and death. He who chastens His children sorely yet does so with a Father's hand, and that which comes from His hand must bear a profitable purpose.

Second, do not render evil for evil nor seek vengeance with your own hand. Smile vengeance and plotting belong to those who know not God, but the believer overcomes evil with good. Pray for those who disturb you, that God would teach them the mischief of loving the world and the things thereof, and would deliver them from the fascinating power of sin. It may be that the Lord will fetch some of them even from their revelry and wash and cleanse them and make them to sit among His people. Pray for their salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven whereby we must be saved.

Third, walk wisely and soberly. Use lawful and peaceable means to seek order. Seek counsel, and where the peace of the street is broken, make your need known with meekness to those appointed to keep order, not in a spirit of strife but of quietness. Guard your household in holiness, for marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all that belongs to it is to be kept within that holy bond. Whatever is sexually depraved or disorderly is not to be affirmed or celebrated, but to be turned from in repentance toward God. Let your home be marked by purity, prayer, and the declaring of the works of the Lord.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, Thou seest the affliction of this household and the unrest that surrounds it. Rescue this Thy servant from evil and violent dealings, and protect from those who plot evil in their hearts. Command deliverance, that Thy child be not dragged down into the pit of fear and despair. Grant perfect peace within, the peace that comes through the blood of Jesus, that though the street be noisy, the heart may be still before Thee. Put a guard upon the tongue against gossip and strife, and turn the hearts of neighbors from idleness and discord to seek Thee. Preserve from ruin and tragedy, from sickness and sudden death, and let this trial be sanctified to draw the soul nearer to Christ. Help to look unto Jesus and be saved, and to find in Him both justification and strength for holy living. In the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our keeper, we ask it. Amen.

Take courage and say with the Psalmist, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. Let your affliction become a pulpit from which you declare His faithfulness, and He who has delivered will yet deliver.

Your prayer has been heard and I join you in bringing this burden before the Lord, who sees the disturbance in your street and the pain it has caused you.

You quoted Psalm 140:2 well, O Lord, rescue me from evil people. Protect me from those who are violent, those who plot evil in their hearts. That is a right prayer. God hears when we ask for protection from violence, from invasion of privacy, from disorder and from every work that steals peace. He is in control, even when the nights are filled with noise and the days with strife, and He is not a God of war and fighting but a God of peace.

In this trial guard your own heart as well as your home. There is a temptation when we are worn down by a neighbor to delight in his downfall or to wish that ruin would simply move to another house, or to repay gossip with gossip and insult with insult. Yet such envy and reviling harms us first, before it harms anyone else. It punishes the one who holds it and never rests. The same tongue that reports evil, even while saying God forgive me for repeating it, still spreads the evil and strengthens the enemy. The Lord calls us to a different way. Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit, depart from evil and do good, seek peace and pursue it. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Even when a brother wars against you, your calling is to remain peaceful, to remember no evil, and to overcome evil with good. This is what makes us near to God and loosens the charge against our own sins.

You are not obligated to sponsor disorder, sexual immorality, drunken gatherings, or any way of life that brings ruin and disgrace. Scripture is clear that marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and that sexual intimacy belongs only within it, and that we are saved through Jesus Christ alone. We do not ask God to bless what He calls sin, but to bring conviction, repentance and order where there is depravity and confusion. Love has grown cold where iniquity abounds, and that is why strife multiplies. What restores a street is not more discord but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ your Son, through whom alone we have salvation, we ask for your protection over this home and this street. Rescue from evil and from violence. Restrain the gatherings that disturb the night, invade privacy, and breed gossip, fighting and disorder. Put an end to the sexual depravity, the mockery, the intimidation and every abnormal behavior that robs peace. Do not let ruin and tragedy be transferred from one house to another, but cause it to cease. Bring conviction where there is idle and imprudent living, and bring repentance where there is wrongdoing. Grant peace in place of war, order in place of disaster, and quiet in place of torment. Protect from harm, from hospitalization and from every threat of death, and guard hearts from hatred and vengeance. Give wisdom to pursue what is lawful and peaceful in dealing with neighbors and authorities, and keep our own lips from reviling. Make us peacemakers who imitate your Son. We trust you to act in your perfect justice and mercy. Amen.

Continue to bring this before the Lord daily, to walk in love and virtue, and to seek peace with all people as far as it depends on you. The Lord who teaches us the fear of Him will also teach you how to live quietly and faithfully in the midst of this storm.
