[Psalm 140:2]: "O LORD, rescue me from evil people. Protect me from those who are violent, those who plot evil in their hearts."

We hear your distress about these ongoing gatherings and parties with your neighbor and we join you in seeking God's will together in Jesus' name. We understand how wearying it is when week after week, day and night, on weekdays and weekends, there is loud disturbance in the street, gossip, an invasion of privacy, and a sense of disorder brought right to your home. It is right to desire peace in your house and on your street, and to bring this burden before the Lord who sees all and is in control.

We also must gently rebuke and correct what is not aligned with biblical principles in how this request is framed. You have asked for horror, hospitalization, ruin, disgrace, tragedy, discord, war and even death and the cemetery to come upon your neighbor, and for torment to come upon them each week. While we understand the depth of your frustration, we cannot agree in prayer for harm, vengeance, or destruction to fall on anyone. God calls us to a different way.

Vengeance belongs to the Lord alone, not to us. Romans 12:19 says, Do not seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. And Romans 12:17 says, Repay no one evil for evil. Romans 12:21 says, Don't be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. 1 Peter 3:9 says, not rendering evil for evil, or insult for insult; but instead blessing; knowing that to this were you called, that you may inherit a blessing.

The Lord Jesus teaches us to love even those who trouble us. Matthew 5:44 says, But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. This includes a difficult neighbor. We are not called to pray for their ruin but for their repentance, for their salvation, and for peace to reign.

You quoted Psalm 140:2 rightly, O LORD, rescue me from evil people. Protect me from those who are violent, those who plot evil in their hearts. We agree with that cry for protection, but we remember the battle is ultimately spiritual. Ephesians 6:12 says, For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Your neighbor, though idle and acting imprudently and causing discord, is not the ultimate enemy. He is a soul for whom Christ died, and he needs the Lord as much as we do.

We also rejoice that you ended your request in the name of Jesus Christ and declared that God is in control. That is the truth. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We thank God that you have called on that name, for there is power and peace in Him alone.

We encourage you to pursue peace in a biblical way. Romans 12:18 says, If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Where appropriate, seek a calm, respectful conversation or a wise mediator, and if laws or ordinances are being broken regarding noise, street obstruction, or privacy, it is right to appeal to proper authorities with gentleness and not with retaliation. Proverbs 15:1 says, A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. Do not feel obligated to sponsor or protect disorder, but also do not repay disorder with curses. Guard your heart against gossip and against being drawn into a war of words, for Proverbs 16:28 says, A perverse man stirs up strife. A whisperer separates close friends.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, asking for Your will to be done in this neighborhood and in this home. Lord, You see the sleepless nights, the gatherings that disturb the peace, the invasion of privacy, the gossip and mocking, and the environment of discord and disorder. We ask You to be our refuge and protector. Psalm 46:1 says, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Lord, we ask You to forgive us for any desire for vengeance, for wishing hospitalization, ruin, or death upon our neighbor, and cleanse our hearts. Help us to overcome evil with good and to bless those who trouble us. We pray for this neighbor, that You would convict him of idle and imprudent ways, bring him to repentance, and give him a purposeful life in Christ. Draw him to salvation, that he may know Your peace and turn from causing strife. Let Your Holy Spirit bring conviction where there is sexual impurity, violence, or evil intent, and replace it with righteousness.

We ask for Your peace to guard this home. Philippians 4:7 says, And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Restore quiet, order, and respect on this street. Give us wisdom to set proper boundaries, to act lawfully and lovingly, and to not be overcome by anxiety but to make our requests known to You with thanksgiving. Philippians 4:6 says, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

We rebuke the spirit of discord, gossip, torment, and depredation in Jesus' name, and we ask You to break every scheme that seeks to steal peace and sow disorder. Let this house be a dwelling of Your peace, not of fear. Help us to be peacemakers, for Matthew 5:9 says, Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God. We trust that You are in control and that You will work all things for good for those who love You.

We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We hear how heavy these weeks have felt with the late gatherings, noise in the street, and talk among neighbors. When home no longer feels quiet or private it is understandable to feel on edge and worn down, and we are grateful you reached out.

One perspective that often brings a little steadiness is remembering what is ours to carry and what is not. We cannot control how others spend their time or what they choose to do on their property, but we can tend to our own boundaries around our time, our home, and how we respond. That can look like choosing not to get drawn into gossip, keeping interactions brief and respectful, and giving ourselves permission to step away and guard our peace when things get loud.

When the friction keeps repeating it also helps not to carry it alone. If a calm direct conversation does not feel safe or has not helped, a practical next step many find useful is keeping a simple private note of dates and what happened, and asking a neutral third party to help, such as a building manager, homeowners association, or local community mediation service, so any discussion stays structured and respectful rather than escalating.

Father, we lift this neighbor situation to You. Bring protection and quiet to this home, calm the tension on this street, and give wisdom for each next decision. Guard this heart from fear and weariness and lead toward Your peace and direction. In Jesus' name, amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

Your distress under these disturbances in your street and home has been heard, and your appeal to Psalm 140 is understood, for the Lord indeed hears the cry for rescue from violent and evil plotting.

Yet we must deal faithfully with what you have asked. To pray for torment, hospitalization, ruin, disgrace, or death upon a neighbor, even one who is idle and vexing, is to ask God to do what He has forbidden us to desire. Vengeance belongs to the Lord, not to us. Our Savior teaches us to love our enemies, to bless those who despitefully use us, and to overcome evil with good. How can we treat another with unkindness when the Lord has dealt so generously with us, forgiving us for Christ's sake an eternal forgiveness, complete and without reserve.

There is forgiveness with Him, that He may be feared. If you have been wearied by sin, your own and others, remember that God says, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake. If you have been the chief of sinners, you may have the chief of sinner's forgiveness, and God can bestow it now. And the same forgiveness which we have received we are bound to extend. We can urge you to the tenderest spirit of forgiveness by pointing to God who for Christ's sake has forgiven you. What nobler motive can you require for forgiving one another. The Lord lets bygones be bygones so completely that He trusts pardoned souls with His secrets, and He would have us show how divine is the forgiveness we have received by forgiving those who trespass against us.

By peace here is not meant that a man will have great peace with everybody, for He who has put enmity between the serpent and the woman never meant that we should enjoy the friendship of the world. But there is a peace which God gives within, even when sorrows surge round. When we learn that our enormous debt of sin has been fully discharged by the Lord Jesus Christ, who did this for all believers, then is our heart at peace. Peace, perfect peace, in this dark world of sin, the blood of Jesus whispers peace within. That peace may rule in your heart even while duties press and neighbors rage.

We will not ask God to bring horror or ruin upon your neighbor, for that would be to ask Him to bless malice. Instead we will pray with you according to His will.

We pray that the Lord will guard your home and give you quietness, that He will restrain all violence and disorder, that He will turn the hearts of those who disturb the street from idleness and folly to sober and honest life, and above all that He will bring them to know forgiveness through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we must be saved. We pray that He will give you grace to forgive as you have been forgiven, to be calm and prudent in speech, to seek lawful and peaceable means for the protection of your privacy, speaking gently to those in authority if needed, and to leave all judgment in His hands. We pray that He will keep you from imposter fears and from the torment of gossip, and fill you with that perfect peace which passes all understanding, as you trust His providence, for God is indeed in control.

Cast your burden upon the Lord, continue in prayer for your neighbor's good, and walk before Him with a sense of that complete forgiveness, clear and unquestioned, which is yours in Christ.
