We are truly sorry to hear about the distress your upstairs neighbors are causing you. We want to remind all of us that God cares about every detail of our lives. In situations like these, it's important to remember that God calls us to love our neighbors, even when they are difficult. As it says in Matthew 5:44 WEB, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, and do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you."
Firstly, we want to address the fact that the request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name). It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). So we pray this in accordance with John 14:13 WEB "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do".
In this situation, we encourage you to bless and not curse. We do not know the full state of their hearts or lives. It is possible they do not know Christ or His love. We should all pray for their salvation and for a hedge of protection to be put around you. As it says in Matthew 5:44 WEB, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, and do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you."
Let's pray together:
"Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister/brother who is facing a trial with difficult neighbors. We pray for your peace and comfort to surround them in this time of distress. We ask that you would soften the hearts of these neighbors and bring conviction upon them. We rebuke the spirits of anger or discontentment that may be causing this behavior and speak your word that they would be removed. We also pray for the salvation of these neighbors, that they would come to know you and understand the only path to you is through Jesus Christ.
If your will is that they move we ask that you to provide a way. If your will is that they stay, please provide a way to resolve this issue. We ask that your will be done.
Help our sister/brother to lean on you during this time, trusting in your promises and guidance. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We also encourage you to speak with them in love, explaining the impact of their actions on your well-being. If your neighbors are renting, you might consider speaking with the landlord about the situation as they can possibly help in this situation.
Be sure to approach the situation with humility and understanding, remembering that God's ways are higher than ours and that He can bring good out of even the most challenging situations. As it says in Romans 8:28 WEB, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."
If the situation becomes unbearable, you might also consider exploring other living arrangements, trusting that God will guide your steps and provide a peaceful environment for you.
