We hear your cry about the ongoing disturbances from your neighbor's gatherings and the deep distress, loss of peace and sleep, and fear this has brought into your house and street. We join with you to seek God's will together in Jesus' name and to ask for His protection, peace, and justice over your home.
We take seriously what you describe as an invasion of privacy, noise and disorder day and night, and gatherings that feel intentional and oppressive. The word of God acknowledges that there are those who plot evil and stir up strife, as you referenced in Psalm 140:2 those who devise mischief in their hearts. They continually gather themselves together for war. And we know your weariness from broken sleep, for it is written in Psalm 4:8 In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety. God sees the torment and the loss of peace in your bed and in your house, and He is our refuge.
We also remember that our struggle is not ultimately against flesh and blood. As it is written in Ephesians 6:12 For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. That means we do not fight with hatred, retaliation, or sorcery, which God forbids, but with prayer, truth, and righteousness. We rebuke any spirit of fear, intimidation, sorcery, sexual immorality, discord, disorder and destruction that would seek to operate through these gatherings or through any demonic influence. We also gently rebuke the temptation to attribute every sickness, tragedy, divorce or hospitalization directly to your neighbor without clear cause, and to live in constant suspicion and fear, because God did not give us a spirit of fear. As it is written in 2 Timothy 1:7 For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. We are called to cast our anxiety on Him and trust Him to be our defender.
God calls us to love our neighbors even when they disturb us, and to pursue peace as far as it depends on us. Jesus said in Matthew 5:44 But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. And it is written in Romans 12:18 If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. And in Romans 12:19 Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. We encourage you to not return evil for evil, not to engage in spiritual retaliation or cursing, but to commit the matter to the Lord who judges righteously. At the same time God has given authorities for order and protection, and it is wise and biblical to seek appropriate help through respectful conversation, documented boundaries, and, if needed, lawful authorities who are appointed to maintain peace and order, as taught in Romans 13:1-4.
We are thankful you called on the name of Jesus Christ, for there is power and access only through Him. It is written in Acts 4:12 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. And in John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. We come to the Father through Jesus alone, and we trust that God is in control even when people act with bad intentions.
We pray together with you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son. We thank You that You are sovereign, that You see what is happening in this house and on this street, and that You never slumber. We ask You to rebuke every work of darkness, every spirit of fear, torment, discord, disorder, immorality and sorcery, and to command peace over this home. Let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard this heart and mind, as promised in Philippians 4:6-7 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Restore sleep in peace, restore quiet in the night and day, and make this house to live in safety.
Lord, we ask You to restrain what is evil and to convict those who gather to disturb, to deceive, or to harm. We pray for the neighbor and for all who gather there, that You would bring conviction, repentance and salvation in Jesus' name, and turn them from idleness and wrong ways to seek You. We ask for wisdom for how to set loving and firm boundaries, for favor and wisdom if speaking to the neighbor or to authorities, and for protection from retaliation or slander. We give to You all fear, anger and grief, casting our cares on You as taught in 1 Peter 5:7 casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. We choose to forgive and to not harbor hatred, and we ask You to repay justly in Your perfect time and way.
Cover this house with Your presence, let no weapon formed against it prosper, and let Your Holy Spirit fill it with order, security and quiet. We declare Your word in John 14:27 Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful. We trust You to act and to keep this family in Your hand. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray and agree, amen.
We encourage you to continue to bring your requests to God with thanksgiving, to stay rooted in Scripture, to guard your heart from constant fear by fixing your thoughts on what is true and holy, and to seek counsel from a trusted pastor or mature believer nearby who can walk with you and pray with you in person. Keep praying for your neighbor's salvation while also taking wise and lawful steps to protect the peace of your home. The Lord is your keeper and He hears your cry.
