Act 16:31
Believe in the Lord Jesus and then God will save you you and your household

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your family in fervent prayer. The pain of disunity, betrayal, and strife is a heavy burden to bear, especially in the wake of loss. The shouting, insults, and ungratefulness you describe grieve the Holy Spirit, for God’s Word commands us to "be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:32). The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but we stand in the authority of Jesus Christ to break every chain of division, bitterness, and deception over your household.

We rebuke the spirit of strife and rebellion that has taken root among your family members. The Bible warns, "For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work" (James 3:16). This is not the will of God for your family. We declare that every lie of Satan, every accusation, every offense, every word spoken in anger, is nullified in the name of Jesus. The Lord says, "I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds" (Jeremiah 30:17). We pray for a supernatural work of repentance and humility to sweep through your family, that hearts would be softened and pride would be broken.

Your mother’s struggle with suicidal thoughts and negativity is deeply concerning. We cry out for her deliverance, for the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We plead the blood of Jesus over her mind, that she would be filled with hope and peace. The tongue is a fire, but the Holy Spirit can tame it (James 3:5-8). We pray for a transformation of her words, that they would bring life instead of despair. Father, surround her with Your love and protection, and let her feel Your presence in a tangible way.

We also lift up your spouse, asking that God would grant wisdom and patience in navigating this tension. It is written, "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men" (Romans 12:18). While we cannot force reconciliation, we can choose to walk in love and trust God to work all things together for good (Romans 8:28). We pray for unity in your marriage, that you and your spouse would stand together in faith, even when family dynamics are difficult.

The financial strain and distance between you are real burdens, but our God is Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides. We declare that every need will be met according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). If it is His will, we pray for a way to be reunited, whether through provision for travel or a supernatural change of hearts. The Lord is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).

Most importantly, we thank you for your heart of forgiveness. Jesus said, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you" (Matthew 6:14). Your willingness to extend grace, even when it is not reciprocated, is a powerful testimony. We pray that your family would see Christ in you and be drawn to repentance.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace. We lift up this family to You, asking for a divine intervention. Break every chain of bitterness, anger, and division. Soften hardened hearts and open blind eyes to the truth of Your Word. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of strife and declare that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their hearts and minds (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we pray for healing, emotional, spiritual, and relational. Restore what has been broken and mend what has been torn. Let Your love be the foundation of their relationships, and let forgiveness flow freely. We ask for provision, both financially and in terms of opportunities to reconcile. Make a way where there seems to be no way.

For the mother struggling with despair, we ask for a supernatural encounter with Your presence. Let her know that she is deeply loved and that her life has purpose. Fill her with hope and surround her with godly support. For the spouse, grant wisdom, patience, and a heart that seeks Your will above all else.

Lord, we declare that this family will not be destroyed by the enemy’s schemes. You have plans for them, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We trust You to bring beauty from ashes and joy from mourning (Isaiah 61:3).

In the name of Jesus Christ, we command every evil influence to flee. We declare that this family is covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). May they walk in unity, love, and purpose, all for Your glory. Amen.

We encourage you to continue standing on God’s promises, even when circumstances seem impossible. Keep praying, keep forgiving, and keep trusting. The Lord is faithful, and He will not abandon you. If there is unrepentant sin in your family, whether it be bitterness, unforgiveness, or rebellion, we urge you to gently but firmly call it out in love, always pointing them to the hope found in Christ. Remember, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). The same grace you extend to them is available to all who turn to Jesus.

We’re so sorry you’re carrying the weight of this family pain, and especially the frightening news about your mother. Before we say anything else, please know: if she is having suicidal thoughts and you fear for her safety right now, the most loving thing you can do is encourage her to reach your local emergency services immediately, and help her find a free, confidential helpline at findahelpline.com. You don’t have to carry this alone; trained people are ready to help.

With that said, we hear how deeply you’re hurting. The bitterness, shouting, and control battles after your father’s death sound exhausting, and we can only imagine the extra sting of having offers of help met with ingratitude. Grief often scrambles family dynamics this way, old tensions flare, and people grasp for control when everything feels uncertain. None of that excuses the unkindness, but it may help you see that their behavior isn’t really about you; it’s the fallout of a loss they don’t know how to hold.

We’re moved that you keep choosing to forgive, day after day, even when the hurt is fresh. That’s real, honest work, and you don’t have to manufacture warm feelings for them right now. Sometimes forgiveness simply looks like setting the debt down and leaving justice in God’s hands, especially when you’re far away and your spouse can’t participate. You can love from a distance, pray, and still maintain peace in your own home.

Right now, the most urgent thing is your mother’s safety. After that, be gentle with yourself: you’re grieving too, and you can’t fix a whole family system from across an ocean. Keep doing the small, faithful thing, pray, release the outcome, and lean into the people and routines that steady you.

Let’s pray:

Lord Jesus, we lift up this mother to you, guard her mind and body; give her a reason to stay. Surround her with safe, wise people and guide her to the help she needs. For this whole fractured family, we ask for healing that only you can bring. Quiet the shouting, soften the blame, and let your mercy settle over their grief. Give this dear one courage to keep forgiving without being crushed, and protect their own heart and home. In your name we pray, amen.

There is forgiveness. Where the wound gapes deepest, there the Great Physician’s healing hand is nearest. Consider your Master’s betrayal, it was from one who ate bread with Him, from his own familiar friend. Yet Jesus, even as the foul kiss saluted His cheek, called that betrayer “Friend.” Do not think it strange that in your own household swords pierce your heart. The betrayal you feel, the shouting, the ingratitude, the venomous tongue, is the smoke of a fire kindled by the enemy, but the fire itself shall be quenched by the blood of the Lamb.

You speak of extermination, as though your family were blotted from the book of hope. But hear this shout from the cross: “I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.” That is a divine deed, an irreversible act. The quarrel of your house, the disobedience, the battling for authority, these are the waves, but the tide is turned by a bleeding Savior. When Jesus perceived the thoughts of the Pharisees, He healed. So too, Christ perceives the unspoken venom, the suicidal despair of your mother, the cold disdain of your spouse, and He saith, “Man, thy sins be forgiven thee.” That is the first word before the command to rise and walk. First forgiveness, then healing.

Now grasp this: “My thoughts are not your thoughts.” As high as the heaven is above the earth, so great is His mercy above your sight of this ruin. You think the debt must be repaid, that compensation is owed for the years the locusts have eaten. But the creditor himself throws the ledger into the depths of the sea. There is no limit here, “There is forgiveness.” Not a narrow crevice of hope, but a vast chasm of grace. For the chief of sinners, there is the chief of forgiveness. For the family that seems a withered branch, there is the sap of resurrection life.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. That word is a hammer to break the rock of despair. Let your forgiveness toward them be as natural as the opening of your hand. You cannot force a reunion, you cannot purchase a ticket with your own strength, but you can drop the ledger of their wrongs even now. A debtor to mercy alone, you must show the same grace you have received.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The turmoil you describe is a field where thorns of anger and bitterness have sprung up after your father’s passing, choking the life from your family. The apostle Paul commands us to put away all bitterness, wrath, clamor, and malice, but he does not stop there. After the weeds are pulled, the ground must be planted with good seeds. You cannot simply cease from shouting and insults; you must actively cultivate kindness, tender-heartedness, and forgiveness toward one another. This forgiveness is greater than settling a debt of money, for it mends the soul. When you feel the sting of ungratefulness or betrayal, resist the temptation to remember injuries and nurse old wounds. That is the practice of a soul that dwells in evil, and it leads only to death.

Let the peace of God act as umpire in your heart. When two thoughts wrestle within you after an offense, one urging revenge and the other endurance, do not let anger or contentiousness award the prize. Surrender to God’s peace, which He made with you freely, without receiving anything from you. This peace silences the shouting and calms the crying. It is not a peace that demands repayment or vindication, but one that mirrors Christ’s meekness at the Last Supper, reasoning gently even with His betrayer. You need no money, no long journey, no great labor to cast off these vices, only a ready will and a bridle for your tongue. Unseasonable reproaches and habitual anger can be dropped in a moment if you choose to walk in the Spirit.

For your mother, who suffers under the weight of suicidal thoughts and a toxic tongue, there is no second laver of baptism, but repentance remains always open. She must not despair as though her sins cannot be washed away. God’s mercy is rich; He invites us to bring our sins to mind and turn from them. Let her hear this: the path of revenge and despair leads to death, but genuine repentance renews the soul. Encourage her to lay hold of the heavenly gift of forgiveness and to taste the good word of God, rather than letting negative words poison her heart.

You speak of a spouse who does not care for your family, and you rightly say you cannot force affection. In this, guard your own soul against bitterness. You are not responsible for another’s heart, but you can stand as a peacemaker by refusing to let discord rule your own spirit. Do not let human peace, the kind that seeks payback or severs ties, prevail. Instead, let the peace of God shape your responses, so that even if others continue in strife, you remain a vessel of kindness.

You forgave them because, like our Lord, you saw they know not what they do. Hold fast to that posture. The Father sees your finances, your losses, and your longing for reunion. While a flight may be costly and distance great, there is no distance in prayer. Trust that God, who protected the Christ child by sending Joseph to Egypt, can protect and provide for your family now. He will heal what is broken as you uproot the thorns and sow the seeds of grace. Set your eyes not merely on a future meeting in heaven, but on the daily renewal of your own heart, so that the household of God may be built even amid ruins.

The pain you are describing is deep and real, disunity, betrayal, shouting, and a mother weighed down with suicidal thoughts. In times like these, it can feel as if your earthly family is being torn apart beyond repair. But remember what Jesus said when someone told Him His own blood relatives were waiting outside: He looked at those who were following Him and declared, "Here are my mother and my brothers. Whoever does the will of God, that person is my brother and sister and mother." When you gave your life to Christ, you were born into a family whose bond runs even deeper than blood. That does not mean you stop loving your natural family, but it means your first allegiance, your deepest identity, now belongs to God’s household.

Because you have chosen to follow Jesus, there may be a rift with those in your own home. You offer help, and it is met with ingratitude and anger. Yet your calling is to keep loving them, keep forgiving them, just as Jesus prayed for those who were crucifying Him: “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they’re doing.” Forgiving each day is not weakness; it is a reflection of God’s mercy at work in you. Your spouse may not share your heart for them, and you cannot force that. But you can be faithful in prayer and in showing kindness when the door opens.

The Lord also understands the ache of separation. You mentioned being far away, with tickets too expensive for a reunion. Yet physical distance cannot cut the ties of the Spirit. The same God who called Abraham to leave his father’s household and go to a land he would show him is able to sustain you when family ties are strained. And like Ruth, who left her own people to cling to Naomi and to Naomi’s God, you may find that God weaves new, loyal relationships within His family that become an anchor for your soul.

Your mother’s struggle with a toxic tongue and thoughts of taking her own life must be carried to the throne of grace boldly. Ask the Great Physician to guard her mind and heal her heart. Proverbs tells us that a generation that curses father and mother brings heartache, but the same Scriptures command us to honor them. So continue to honor her, even when words fail. Entrust her to the One who is able to turn hearts and provide for every need.

The promise you quoted, Acts 16:31, is still true: “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Claim that promise not as a demand, but as a seed of hope. The same Jesus who said we must love Him more than father or mother also promised that anyone who has left houses or family for His sake will receive a hundredfold now in this time, brothers, sisters, mothers, and children, within the family of God, along with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life. That hundredfold is already here: you are surrounded by a family knit together by His Spirit.

So do not lose heart. Keep pouring out your sorrow to the Lord. Let the love of Christ hold first place, and He will give you grace to walk through the shouting, the betrayal, and the grief. One day, whether in this life or in the age to come, every tear will be wiped away, and you will see the full redemption He has planned. Until then, stand on His mercy, receive the comfort of His people, and rest in the unshakable family that belongs to the Father.
