We hear the heaviness of your heart and we join with you in the name of Jesus Christ to lift your family before our Heavenly Father, for you have come in the only name by which we have access to God and by which we can be saved. As it is written, Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household Acts 16:31, and also Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. We thank you for praying in that precious name and we stand with you now.
We grieve with you over the torment in your family, the disunity, betrayal, sadness and anger that has grown since your father passed away, the shouting and yelling and insults that have replaced honest conversation, and the struggle over authority and control and finances. God sees this pain and He desires unity and peace among His people. How good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity Psalm 133:1, and we are called If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men Romans 12:18. The enemy would have you believe your family is exterminated or cursed beyond hope, but we rebuke those lies of Satan in the name of Jesus Christ, for if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away 2 Corinthians 5:17 and no weapon that is formed against you will prosper Isaiah 54:17. We also must gently address that anger and a toxic tongue bring deep wounds, for Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:31-32 and Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up Ephesians 4:29. A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger Proverbs 15:1. We encourage honest, gentle speech and quick listening, for let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger James 1:19.
We are moved by your heart to forgive each day even while you are hurt, remembering how Jesus prayed Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing Luke 23:34. Continue to bear with one another and forgive as the Lord forgave you Colossians 3:13, and know that If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. We pray that each member of your family would come to repentance, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord Acts 3:19, and that God would heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds Psalm 147:3.
We lift up your mother especially, who is suffering with suicidal thoughts and living in a negative environment with a toxic tongue. We pray with compassion for her, for Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. We remind her and you that God says For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. We plead for God to surround her with His protection, to quiet the lies of despair, to bring godly counsel and support around her, and to help her speak life. If these thoughts grow heavy we encourage you to stay close to her, to involve trusted pastors and believers and caring help near her, and to keep praying without ceasing.
We also bring before the Lord your finances and the distance that keeps you far away, with expensive flights making reunion difficult, and the ungrateful attitudes you have met when you have tried to help. God knows your needs and your limits. We pray My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19 and that as you seek first Gods Kingdom and his righteousness, all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33. We pray for provision for a way to be together in His timing, and for God to restore what has been lost over the years, for He promises I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten Joel 2:25.
We pray for your marriage as well. You shared that your spouse does not like your family and you cannot force anything. We honor marriage as God designed it, a lifelong covenant where a man leaves his father and his mother and is joined to his wife and the two become one flesh Genesis 2:24 and What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate Mark 10:9. We pray that God would give you and your spouse unity, understanding and grace toward one another, that your spouse's heart would be softened with compassion and that you would both show love and respect while also honoring your mother and family as the Lord commands Honor your father and your mother Ephesians 6:2. We pray for wisdom to love your family without forcing your spouse, and to love your spouse without abandoning your family, trusting God to work in both.
So we pray together, Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we bring this dear family before Your throne of mercy. Forgive their disobedience and mistakes, cleanse their hearts with honesty, heal their souls and make them whole. Rebuke every lie of the enemy that says they are destroyed or forgotten, and let Your truth reign. Remove shouting, yelling, crying, insults and ungratefulness, and replace them with gentleness, kindness, patience and a willingness to listen. Heal the sadness and anger and betrayal, teach them to forgive as You have forgiven us, and bring repentance where it is needed. Protect them from harm, provide for their financial needs, open a way for reunion according to Your will, and give them peace that passes understanding. Lay Your hand upon the mother who is suffering, deliver her from suicidal thoughts and a toxic tongue, fill her home with Your peace, surround her and the brother and his family with godly protection and provision, and let them know they are deeply loved and not alone. Bless this marriage, give unity and mercy between spouses, and help this dear one to continue forgiving daily as You have shown. We trust that after this life we will be with You and with loved ones who sleep in Christ, for to be with You is our hope. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, amen.
