Act 16:31
Believe in the Lord Jesus and then God will save you you and your household.”

We hear the deep pain and turmoil in your heart as you describe the brokenness in your family. The shouting, betrayal, disunity, and ungratefulness you’ve endured are not God’s design for His children. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and it is clear he has been at work in your home, sowing discord and despair. But we stand with you in the authority of Jesus Christ, who came to bring life, and life abundantly. We rebuke every spirit of division, strife, and bitterness in your family in the mighty name of Jesus. The Word declares, "If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand" (Mark 3:25). This is not the will of God for your family.

We also lift up your mother, who is battling suicidal thoughts and a toxic environment. This is a cry for help, and we pray with urgency that the Lord would surround her with His peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Father, we ask that You dispatch Your angels to guard her mind and heart, shielding her from the lies of the enemy that whisper hopelessness. Remind her that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that her life has purpose in Your eyes. We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we plead the blood of Jesus over her thoughts, emotions, and circumstances.

Your request mentions forgiveness, and we commend you for choosing to forgive daily, just as Christ forgave you (Ephesians 4:32). Forgiveness does not mean excusing sin, but it releases you from the chains of bitterness. However, we must also address the call for "extermination" in your prayer. This is not a biblical response. God does not delight in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live (Ezekiel 33:11). Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil (Ephesians 6:12). We pray for repentance in your family, not their destruction. The Lord is rich in mercy (Ephesians 2:4), and He desires reconciliation, not ruin.

We also notice the financial strain and the distance separating you from your family. The enemy may use these challenges to deepen the divide, but we declare that God is your provider (Philippians 4:19). If it is His will for your family to reunite, He will make a way where there seems to be no way. We pray for open doors, favor, and provision to bridge the gap between you. But more importantly, we pray for hearts to soften, for pride to be broken, and for humility to take root. "Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you" (Luke 6:28). This is the path to healing.

We must also gently address the mention of your family’s salvation. You referenced Acts 16:31, which declares, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household." This is our prayer for your family, that they would come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If any in your family have not surrendered their lives to Christ, we pray they would do so today. Salvation is the foundation for true healing and restoration.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this family to You. Lord, You see the pain, the brokenness, and the division. We ask that You would move mightily in their midst. Break the chains of bitterness, anger, and unforgiveness. Soften hardened hearts and open blind eyes to see the truth of Your Word. We rebuke every spirit of division, strife, and despair in the name of Jesus. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we lift up this mother who is struggling with suicidal thoughts. Surround her with Your love and protection. Remind her of Your promises and fill her with hope. Send Your angels to minister to her and bring people into her life who will speak life and truth. Heal her mind and emotions, Lord, and let her know that she is deeply loved by You.

We pray for repentance in this family. Convict them of their sins, Lord, and draw them to Yourself. Let them see the error of their ways and turn to You with humility and sincerity. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we plead the blood of Jesus over every area of their lives.

Father, we ask for financial provision and opportunities for this family to reunite. Remove every obstacle and open doors that no man can shut. Let Your will be done in their lives, and let Your name be glorified through their restoration.

We thank You, Lord, that You are a God of mercy and grace. You do not treat us as our sins deserve (Psalm 103:10), and we ask that You extend that same mercy to this family. Heal their wounds, restore their relationships, and let them experience the fullness of life that comes only through You.

We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue standing in faith, trusting that God is at work even when you cannot see it. Keep praying, keep forgiving, and keep believing in His promises. The enemy wants you to feel hopeless, but God is greater. "And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up" (Galatians 6:9). Hold fast to His Word, and do not lose heart. Restoration is possible, and we believe God will bring beauty from these ashes (Isaiah 61:3).

We hear the weight of all that you’re carrying, the grief, the conflict in your family, and the fear for your mother. Before anything else, we need to address what you’ve shared about her having suicidal thoughts. If she is in immediate danger, she needs to contact local emergency services right now. For free, confidential support any time, she (or you) can also find a helpline in your country at findahelpline.com. She is not alone, and there are trained people ready to walk with her through this.

The loss of your father has understandably shaken everyone. When grief runs that deep, it often spills out sideways as anger, shouting, and disunity, especially in a family already under strain. It doesn’t excuse the hurtful behavior, but it can help to recognize that what you are seeing may be the sound of a family trying to mourn without knowing how. Your own choice to keep forgiving, even when your help is met with ungratefulness, shows real strength. Forgiveness isn’t the same as pretending the pain isn’t real; it’s deciding you won’t let bitterness take root. And sometimes the kindest thing you can do from a distance is to set a quiet boundary while you pray.

We’d encourage you to seek out a trusted pastor or counselor for yourself, someone who can help you sort through the guilt, the frustration, and the heavy sense of responsibility you feel. It’s not a failure to need that support. For your mother, if someone nearby could gently check in on her, perhaps a pastor or a mature friend, that could be a lifeline she’s not able to ask for right now. You cannot force a reunion or change hearts across an expensive flight, but you can keep doing what you’re doing: offering forgiveness, praying, and entrusting the outcome to the God who knows every detail.

Father, we lift this hurting family to You. Surround this mother with Your protection, quiet the lies that whisper destruction, and bring someone near her who will speak truth and hope. Comfort this whole family in their grief; untangle the anger and pain that keep them from seeing one another clearly. Give them courage to mourn honestly, and wisdom to find healthy ways forward. And grant this writer steady peace, knowing You see every tear and every effort. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Act 16:31

Before I say anything else, I must speak to the urgent danger you mentioned. If your mother is having suicidal thoughts, or if anyone is in immediate crisis, please get help right now, call local emergency services. There is also a global directory of helplines at findahelpline.com where you can find support in your country. Do not delay; safety is the first priority.

Now, come and sit a moment where we can talk heart to heart. I know the weight you are carrying feels crushing, a family torn up by shouting, grieving the loss of your dad, betrayal cutting deep, miles and empty pockets keeping you apart, and a mother whose mind is in a dark place. You have been trying to help, to give, to stretch out a hand of peace, and it has felt like throwing kindness into a storm. No wonder you cry out, “God, heal, protect, rebuke the lies of Satan!” You are not wrong to bring it all to Jesus. He is the only one who can reach into such a tangled mess and untie the knots without snapping the heartstrings.

Remember the man in the Gospel who was carried on his bed by four friends right through the roof to Jesus. He could not move a finger; he was utterly helpless and dependent on others. And what was the first word Christ spoke to him? Not “Rise up and walk,” but “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.” The deepest need was not the withered limbs but the guilty soul. So it may be in your family. All the shouting and the anger, the ingratitude and the harsh words, these are the symptoms of souls that are sick with sin and grief. And Jesus stands ready to forgive first, and then to heal. He can speak peace to the stormy hearts even before He mends the broken relationships. Have you not seen, in your own case, how He blots out your transgressions for His own sake? He does not remember them against you. If you, who have been so ill-treated, are able to forgive them day by day because they know not what they do, how much more will the Father’s heart run out to them when they turn to Him?

I want you to think for a minute about God’s thoughts toward you in all this. They are not like your thoughts. You are thinking, “The flight is too dear; we are scattered like dry leaves; my brother stays away; I can’t fix it.” And your thoughts are full of impossibility and exhaustion. But God’s thoughts are higher than yours as the heavens are higher than the earth. He is not limited by geography or bank accounts. He can gather a family without an airplane, and He can provision them out of His own riches when the purse is empty. And while you are lying awake in the night picturing ruin, God is thinking about you, precious thoughts, vast in number, kinder than you dare imagine. He sees the whole landscape of your sorrow, and He knows the way out.

And what of the betrayal you have tasted? You offered help and it was thrown back at you; you loved and were answered with coldness. You know a little of what your Master felt when His own familiar friend lifted up his heel against Him. Jesus was not captured by an enemy’s spear; He was sold with a kiss. So it was with you, perhaps the wound came from those who should have been closest. But hear this and take comfort: even the black sin of Judas did not derail the plan of redemption. It was made to serve the purposes of mercy. In the same way, the Lord can bring good out of this bitter family strife. He knows how to turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness, and He can make the very troubles you now lament the ground of future joy.

And there is something else I want to press upon your heart. You said, “God is rich in mercy.” That is your anchor. Because God is merciful, He delights to forgive. It is His very nature. He does not pardon grudgingly, like a king who waves a hand of amnesty while frowning. No, He runs to meet the prodigal. He loads the freed captive with gifts. And His forgiveness is not a bare pardon; it is so full that it even takes away the fear that would keep us from Him. “There is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared.” That means that the forgiven sinner is drawn near in reverence and love, not driven away in terror. This is what your family needs, not a lecture, not a fix, but to be laid at Jesus’ feet where forgiveness first heals the soul, and then the tongue is tamed and the heart softened.

Hold onto that word: “But.” After all the wreckage, after the record of wrongs, after the threats of judgment that our sins deserve, the Scripture says, “But there is forgiveness.” In the darkest night of family sin, that “but” is the first ray of dawn. It is the whisper of hope that comes into the soul when we have confessed how bad things really are. God is not marking iniquities against those who hide in Christ. And you are already there, pleading Christ’s name. So plead on. Believe that He is at work even now, though you cannot see it, like a father’s hand in the dark, holding you steady.

And for your precious mother, oh, I would that every reader might lift her up right now. The enemy has been pouring poison into her ear, making the world seem a place without hope. But Christ has the keys of death and hell, and no darkness can overwhelm His light. He is able to keep her from falling, and to present her faultless before His presence with exceeding joy. I pray that He will quiet the suicidal thoughts, silence the toxic tongue of the accuser, and let her hear His own voice saying, “Fear not: for I have redeemed you, I have called you by your name; you are mine.”

So do not let your heart despair. The reunion you long for, not just around a table, but heart to heart, may come in ways you cannot plan. And if this life should end before you meet again face to face, there is a family gathering that cannot be stopped: the great household of the redeemed before the throne, where your father already waits in the presence of Jesus. That hope is sure, anchored in the promise of the Gospel: “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved, and your house.”

Let me commend you to Him now.

Lord Jesus, look upon this dear one and the suffering family. You are the Great Physician; heal the wounds that bleed in secret, put a right spirit within those who are in turmoil, and rebuke the lies of Satan that have brought division. O Shepherd, seek out each wandering sheep, and carry them home. Quiet the storms of anger, lift up the mother who is cast down, and provide for every need according to Your riches in glory. Give the grace of repentance where it is needed, and flood this family with the mercy that leads to fearing You in love. And for this one who prays, steady the heart, calm the fear, and let the peace that passes understanding keep mind and heart in Christ Jesus. Amen.

You speak of your family being exterminated by disorder and betrayal, of shouting and ungratefulness, and you ask for prayer that God would heal and protect. But hear this: God is not a God of war and conflict. Every quarrel, every shouting match, springs from the root of worldly desires, covetousness, vainglory, envy. When you look closely at the anger and the fight over authority and money, you will see it is nothing but love for earthly things rising up and bearing bitter fruit. The more you grasp at what you think you deserve, the more it slips away and leaves torment behind.

Be the peacemaker in this storm. The harder your family wars against you, the greater your reward if you answer not with shouting but with a quiet and forgiving heart. Nothing delights God so much as to remember no evil. When they betray or show ingratitude, do not count it against them. Forgive them each day, just as you said you do, but let that forgiveness be not merely a prayer on your lips but a deep calm in your soul, so that you no longer let their sin disturb your peace. The one who robs you of money or honor has not injured you; they have only stolen from themselves. Your true treasure is stored in heaven, where no conflict can reach.

Do not try to force a reunion or change their hearts by argument. Deprecate conflicts instead of rushing into them. When we are not summoned to the fight by necessity, we should be quiet and wait for God’s time. The price of a ticket, the distance, the unwilling spouse, these are earthly barriers, but they cannot prevent the heavenly meeting if you all cling to Christ. Place your hope not in a family gathering here, but in the day when you and your father and all who believe will sit together in the presence of the Heavenly Father, with every tear wiped away.

Your mother’s suicidal thoughts and toxic tongue are the work of the evil one, who finds a foothold where the heart is not guarded by God’s law. Bring her continually before the Lord in prayer, and also do not neglect to speak peace to her, without retaliation. Write the words of Scripture on your own mind, and let the grace of the Spirit tame the fierceness in your household, as a wild animal is tamed by gentle training. The devil flees from a soul that holds fast to divine things.

Remember, you were once alienated and an enemy in your mind through evil works, yet Christ reconciled you through the death of His flesh to present you holy and without blemish before God. In the same way, reach out with that reconciliation, even when it is not returned. Press on to be holy, not high-minded. When you feel anger rising, cut it out at the root, and there will be no fruit of shouting and tears. So then, cease from war. Be at peace with all men as much as lies in you, and the God of peace will heal your family’s hearts and perhaps even bring salvation to your household, as you trust in the Lord Jesus.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
