We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation where the pain of divorce and the ripple effects of sin have brought torment and negativity into your life. The Word of God is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant, designed by God to reflect His love and faithfulness. When that covenant is broken, especially through sexual immorality as referenced in Matthew 19:9, it leaves deep wounds—not just for the couple, but for families and even neighbors who are drawn into the chaos. "And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and he who marries her when she is divorced commits adultery." This is not a light matter, and the enemy seeks to use such brokenness to spread strife, mockery, and further sin.
We rebuke the spirit of chaos and division that has taken root in this situation. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We stand against the mockery of God’s design for marriage and family, and we declare that the blood of Jesus breaks every chain of bitterness, unforgiveness, and ungodly influence. We pray that the Lord would expose any hidden works of darkness in this situation and bring them into the light, for "everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light" (Ephesians 5:13).
Father, we ask You to surround this neighbor with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). If there is any unforgiveness or bitterness in their heart, we pray that You would soften it and replace it with Your love and grace. Help them to see this situation through Your eyes, not with judgment, but with compassion for those who are lost in sin. We ask that You would deliver them from any toxic negativity that has sought to cling to them, and we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Lord, we also lift up the individuals involved in this divorce. If they do not know You, we pray that You would draw them to Yourself. Break the hardness of their hearts and reveal to them the truth of Your Word. If they are believers, we pray for repentance and restoration where possible, for Your Word says that You desire all to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). We ask that You would heal the wounds caused by this broken covenant and bring redemption to every life touched by this situation.
We declare that the enemy will not have the final say in this matter. We stand on the promise that where sin abounds, grace abounds much more (Romans 5:20). We pray for a hedge of protection around this neighbor, their home, and their family. May Your angels encamp around them, and may Your presence be a shield against every attack of the enemy (Psalm 91:11). We ask that You would fill their home with Your peace, joy, and righteousness, and that they would be a light in the midst of this darkness.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would use this situation for Your glory. May Your name be lifted high, and may Your will be done in every life involved. We trust in You, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we have access to You and the only name by which we are saved. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Amen.

God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.
