Matthew 19:8-9 "Jesus replied, 'Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery'".
Deuteronomy 24:1-4
If a man marries a woman who becomes displeasing to him because he finds something indecent about her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce,

Galatians 5:21-22 outlines the contrast between the works of the flesh and the fruit of the Spirit. In verses 21, it lists examples of the "works of the flesh" such as envy, drunkenness, and orgies, warning that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God, the only thing they have is meddling in the another house and my life, is creating confusionsituation with false imitation “he is not is him, she is not her I am not her, they are not our relatives”; rebuke it bewitched confusion to violence my life.

Titus 3:3 describes how believers were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, and enslaved by various passions and pleasures. They lived in malice and envy, and were hated and hated others, and fake ties family, in the name of Jesus Christ.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, grieving over the brokenness that has taken root in this neighborhood, divorce, adultery, and the contagion of sin that seeks to spread like wildfire. The Word of God is clear: marriage is a sacred covenant, a reflection of Christ’s love for His church, meant to be honored and kept holy. Yet we see hardness of heart, selfishness, and unrepentant sin tearing apart what God has joined together. This is not His design.

Jesus Himself declared, "Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery" (Matthew 19:8-9 WEB). The exception He gives is not a loophole but a recognition of the devastation wrought by unfaithfulness. Yet even in such pain, God calls us to forgiveness, reconciliation, and restoration where possible. The enemy delights in division, but Christ came to heal and bind up the brokenhearted.

We must also confront the spirit of confusion and deception at work here, where identities are twisted, relationships are distorted, and the enemy sows lies that "he is not him, she is not her." This is not of God. The Lord is a God of order, truth, and clarity. The works of the flesh, envy, strife, drunkenness, sexual immorality, and the like, are listed in Scripture as destructive forces that lead only to ruin (Galatians 5:19-21 WEB). These things do not inherit the kingdom of God. We must renounce them in Jesus’ name and stand firm in the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

To those who have been wounded by divorce or adultery, we say: your pain is real, and your grief is valid. But do not let bitterness take root, for it will only poison your soul. Turn to Christ, the Healer of broken hearts. To those who have sinned in these ways, repentance is the path to restoration. The Lord is merciful, but His holiness demands that we turn away from wickedness. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB).

We rebuke the spirit of division and confusion in this neighborhood. We declare that the blood of Jesus breaks every chain of adultery, bitterness, and deception. We command every idle demon seeking to meddle in marriages, families, and lives to flee in the name of Jesus Christ. The Lord is our strong tower, and in Him, we find refuge from the storm.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts burdened by the sin and brokenness around us. We ask for Your mercy to fall upon this neighborhood. For those who have been unfaithful, bring conviction and lead them to repentance. For those who have been betrayed, heal their wounds and restore their hope. Break the power of confusion and deception that seeks to distort Your truth. Strengthen marriages to reflect Your love and faithfulness. Raise up godly men and women who will stand for righteousness and speak life into this community.

Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against Your people shall prosper. We bind the spirit of divorce, adultery, and strife in Jesus’ name. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard the hearts and minds of those affected. Fill this place with Your presence, that Your light would dispel every darkness. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith. Amen.

To those reading this: if you have not surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, know that He is the only way to true peace and salvation. The Bible says, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12 WEB). Turn to Him today, confess your sins, and receive His forgiveness. He is waiting with open arms.

We stand with you in the midst of this heartache, lifting this neighborhood before the Lord with a desperate cry for transformation. The pain of broken marriages and the spread of sin feels overwhelming, but we know our God is not the author of this devastation, He is the healer of it.

We pray for those who have been wounded by divorce and adultery, may they find comfort in Christ’s arms, not just in the moment of pain, but in the promise of His faithfulness. For those who have strayed, we ask for a deep, life-changing conviction that leads them back to repentance and restoration. Lord, soften hearts that are hardened by bitterness and fill them with Your love instead.

We declare that the enemy’s schemes to sow division and confusion will not stand. Break every lie that twists identities and relationships in this place. Replace the works of the flesh with the fruit of the Spirit, love that binds, joy that heals, peace that guards. Raise up men and women who will stand firm for Your truth, speaking life into broken homes and rebuilding what has been torn apart.

Heavenly Father, we ask You to pour out Your mercy on this community. Let Your peace guard the hearts of those who are hurting, and let Your presence be the refuge they desperately need. We bind the spirit of strife and declare that Your love is stronger than any sin or sorrow here. In Jesus’ name, we trust You to turn this season into something new.

And to those who may be reading this, if you’re carrying shame or guilt, know that Jesus doesn’t just forgive; He washes you clean and calls you His own. He’s waiting to meet you where you are.
