To Mothers
A mother’s godly life shapes her children’s faith and future more than any other influence.
Rizpah On the Rock
A mother’s love endures beyond death and calls us to live worthily of her watchful care.
Treatment of Parents
A foolish child breaks a parent’s heart so honor them with gratitude and obedience.
We join you in bringing this heavy burden before the Lord and we hear your heart for those who are suffering abandonment, for children left alone, for wives forsaken by husbands and husbands forsaken by wives, for sons and daughters and brothers and sisters who have been betrayed by family and friends, and for the most vulnerable among us, the unborn.

We take comfort together in the promises you quoted, that even when earthly family fails, God does not. Psalm 27:10 says When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up. And Isaiah 49:15 says Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you. He is a Father to the fatherless and He sets the lonely in families, Psalm 68:5-6, and He is a refuge for those who have no house or shelter to run to. We pray for every person you mentioned who feels alone, abandoned, or without refuge, that they would know God has not abandoned them and that He will provide shelter, comfort, and godly community to support them.

We also join you in praying for the unborn who are despised or rejected by their mother or father. Scripture is clear that life begins in the womb and is precious to God. Psalm 139:13-14 says For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Jeremiah 1:5 says Before I formed you in the belly, I knew you. Before you came out of the womb, I sanctified you. To shed innocent blood is an abomination before God, Proverbs 6:16-17, and Exodus 20:13 says You shall not murder. Abortion is the taking of innocent life and we must call it what it is, yet we also entrust every aborted, miscarried, and unborn child to the mercy and care of God, believing He receives them into His presence. We pray for mothers and fathers who are considering abortion or who have participated in it, that they would repent and find forgiveness and healing through the blood of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can be saved.

We must also gently correct and rebuke some of what is expressed in this request. We understand the pain of seeing neighborhood disorder, gossip, sabotage, false prophecy and what you describe as a bewitching environment, but we must not pray for the extermination of a generation or that babies would die unborn or that any family would be cut off and never see the next generation. Vengeance belongs to the Lord, not to us. Deuteronomy 32:35 says Vengeance is mine, and recompense, and Romans 12:19 says Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. And our Lord commands us in Matthew 5:44 to love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. Instead of praying for death, we pray for repentance, for conviction, and for mercy.

We also rebuke the works of gossip, false prophecy, and witchcraft or sorcery. Leviticus 19:16 says You shall not go around as a slanderer among your people, and James 3:6 warns that the tongue is a fire and can defile the whole body. Those who speak false prophecies and lead others astray will give an account, Jeremiah 23:32, and any practice of witchcraft or bewitching is forbidden, Deuteronomy 18:10-12 says Whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh. We pray that any such influence in your neighborhood would be broken in Jesus’ name and that truth and peace would reign.

We thank you for lifting this up in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father, John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, and Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved.

We pray together now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace. We ask for Your mercy on every suffering soul, every abandoned child, every lonely widow, widower, and orphan. Be their shelter and refuge when they have no house or family to run to. Comfort those who mourn the loss of unborn babies and receive those little ones into Your heavenly care. Forgive the sin of abortion in our land and bring healing to parents who carry that guilt. Convict those who gossip, deceive with false prophecy, and practice disorder and witchcraft, and bring them to repentance that they might be saved and walk in truth. Turn hearts from hatred to love, from cursing to blessing, and let Your peace rest upon these homes and neighborhoods. Let Your will be done and let Your name be glorified as You protect the innocent and defend the helpless. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior, amen.

We have been sitting with your prayer and we hear how much sorrow you are carrying, for neighbors who have lost babies before birth, for children and parents who feel abandoned, for families and friends without a home or refuge, and for the little ones you entrusted to God's care.

You named so many kinds of loss at once, and it makes sense that it would feel overwhelming. Grief is a natural response to real loss, and it is also very personal. No two people walk through it the same way, and there is no single timeline for how it settles. When so many losses are layered together, a death, a broken family tie, the lack of shelter or support, the heart can feel the weight of all of them together.

You are doing a tender thing in bringing each of these people and children before the Lord and asking for His mercy and nearness. You do not have to carry all of this alone. If you have a pastor or a trusted mature believer nearby, we encourage you to share this burden with them in person, so someone can walk with you and pray with you regularly. If you know families nearby without shelter or support, a local congregation or community care ministry may also be able to help connect them to practical help.

Father, we lift to You every person our friend named who feels abandoned, alone, or grieving, and every unborn child. Show Yourself as refuge and comfort, give wisdom and steady care to those who are trying to help, and draw each heart to know Your presence and mercy. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The heart is deeply moved to hear this burden of sorrow, of those forsaken and abandoned, of children despised before they have drawn breath, and of families scattered without house or refuge. The Scripture you have set forth is a true anchor for such grief, for it is written, Though my father and my mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me, and again, Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne. Though she may forget, yet will not the Lord forget His own.

There is a City of Refuge provided under the mercy of God, and there is but one, and that is Christ Himself. Wherever there are byroads and turnings in this weary world, the signpost still reads Refuge, Refuge, pointing the guilty and the grieving sinner to Him. Christ is the true City of Refuge and He preserves all those who flee to Him for mercy. If you know yourself to be forsaken, alone, without family or friend or shelter to support you, hear this cry, Refuge, and walk therein and you shall be saved. Even the weak are strong when God is their refuge, the most defenseless are safe when God is their defense.

Be assured that the Lord does not look upon such affliction without feeling. If there is any kind of grief in the one that is pitied, he that pities becomes a partaker of that grief. Your Father pities you as a father pities his children. He does not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men. In all your distresses He takes His share, though He hears also the music of heaven that shall yet come from your present sighs. He is not a passionless God, but one who can feel and who remembers His hidden ones, those whom the world overlooks and despises.

All of God's mercies, and they are more than can be numbered, come to us by way of the Cross and bear the mark of the Redeemer's blood upon them. The blood of Jesus Christ, God's dear Son, cleanses us from all sin. There is no other way of salvation, for God has justified His people in Christ alone, and who is he that condemns. It is God's tender mercy that appeals to the sinner and says, Behold, now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation. What the Gospel asks is not a price to be paid, but a trust to be placed in the bleeding Saviour who has borne our sin and hatred and sorrow in His own body.

Therefore we entrust to that tender mercy all those innocent children, aborted or miscarried, despised or hated by father or mother, and all who have been abandoned, whether wife or husband, daughter or son, brother or sister or friend, and those who wander without shelter or refuge. We pray that the Lord, who gathers the forsaken, would be their shelter and their strong refuge, that He would receive those little ones into His heavenly care according to His infinite compassion, and that He would show mercy to a generation that has forgotten His law.

We pray now, O God, You have taught us from our youth and Your wondrous works declare Your faithfulness. Look in pity upon every lonely and abandoned heart, upon every child cast off, upon every home broken and every wanderer without refuge. Let them find in Christ their City of Refuge. Let Your fatherly pity cover them, let Your tender mercy in the Lord Jesus Christ cleanse and keep them, and let Your promise be fulfilled that though earthly forsaking be bitter, You will never forsake Your own. We ask this not by any merit of our own, but only through the blood and name of Jesus Christ our Lord, in whom alone is salvation. Amen.

Your prayer has been heard and I join with you in bringing these heavy sorrows before the Lord.

You have lifted up those who know abandonment in many forms, wives and husbands forsaken, sons and daughters left alone, brothers and sisters betrayed, friends scattered, families without house or refuge or shelter, and children left without support. You have also lifted up the unborn, those despised and rejected, those lost through abortion or miscarriage, and the generations that grieve them. These are deep wounds, and it is right to bring them to God for mercy.

Know this, sorrow in this life spares no one. If not today then tomorrow, every household knows some grief, one through loss, another through betrayal, another through want. We share in one another's sorrows even when we do not share the same cause. So do not think you are alone in suffering, and do not let grief overwhelm you like strong drink. The Psalms were given for such times, to remind the soul where rest is found. Say with the Psalmist, return to your rest, O my soul, for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you, and I will fear no evil for you are with me, and you are my refuge from the affliction that surrounds me. Let those words be your comfort.

For the little ones you have named, we entrust them to the mercy of God. He alone is the judge and He alone is full of compassion. When a father and mother forsake a child, the Lord will receive that child. Though a mother might forget the child at her breast, God will not forget. We ask Him in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation, to receive these innocent lives into His care and to grant them rest and peace in His presence. We also pray for mercy for mothers and fathers and for all who have acted in hardness of heart or in despair, that they may find repentance and healing through Christ.

For those who are abandoned and without shelter, who wander without family or friend to receive them, we pray that God would provide refuge, raise up helpers, and show Himself as Father to the fatherless and defender of the helpless. Where there has been gossip, false words, sabotage and disorder among neighbors, we pray for truth, for forgiveness, and for a cleansing from all that defiles. Hate for others does not repair loss, and grief without measure only adds to affliction. Godly sorrow leads to good, but endless despair does not. Therefore fortify your heart by striking deep roots in His word.

I urge you to keep the Scriptures ever near you as medicines for the soul. Do not wait for another to teach you. Take up the Gospels, the Psalms, the Apostolic letters, and dive into them as into a chest of remedies. When loss or death or betrayal presses upon you, take comfort from them and keep them in your mind.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, have mercy. Look upon all who suffer abandonment and loss, upon every child without a home and every parent without comfort, upon neighborhoods torn by strife, and upon every unborn child entrusted to Your care. Receive those whom others have forsaken, forgive sins through the blood of Your Son Jesus Christ, heal the brokenhearted, provide shelter for the homeless, and grant rest to the weary. Lead us all to repentance, to sobriety of mind, and to trust in Your unfailing love. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we ask this, amen.
