We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up the deep sorrows and losses expressed in this prayer request. The pain of abandonment, the grief of lost children, both born and unborn, and the devastation of families torn apart is a burden no one should bear alone. We stand in the gap, crying out to the Lord who hears the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3).

First, we must address the grave sin of abortion, which is the murder of innocent life in the womb. The Bible is clear that children are a heritage from the Lord, and the fruit of the womb is His reward (Psalm 127:3). To take the life of an unborn child is to defy God’s design and commandment: "You shall not murder" (Exodus 20:13). We mourn for every child lost to abortion, entrusting them to the merciful care of our Heavenly Father, who knits each one together in the womb (Psalm 139:13-16). We pray for repentance and healing for those who have participated in or supported this evil, that they may turn to Christ for forgiveness and restoration.

For those who have suffered miscarriage or the loss of a child, we grieve with you. The Lord sees your tears and collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We pray for comfort that surpasses understanding, for peace that guards your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

To those who have been abandoned, by parents, spouses, children, or friends, we declare that the Lord will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Even if earthly family fails, God remains your Father, your Refuge, and your Strong Tower (Proverbs 18:10). We pray for provision, shelter, and community for those without a home or support, trusting that the Lord is a father to the fatherless and a defender of the widow (Psalm 68:5).

For those who feel utterly alone, like beggars without refuge, we remind you that Jesus Christ came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10). He is the Good Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to find the one (Matthew 18:12-14). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Only in Jesus can you find true shelter, mercy, and eternal life.

We also rebuke the spirit of despair and generational curses that may seek to destroy families and futures. The Lord is our light and salvation, whom shall we fear? (Psalm 27:1). We break every chain of abandonment, betrayal, and loss in the name of Jesus, declaring that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). The Lord will restore what the locust has eaten (Joel 2:25), and He will turn your mourning into joy (Jeremiah 31:13).

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts heavy with sorrow, yet filled with faith in Your goodness and mercy. We lift up every person who is suffering, those who have lost children, those who have been abandoned, those who feel utterly alone. Lord, You are the Father to the fatherless, the Defender of the weak, and the Comforter of the brokenhearted. We ask You to draw near to those who are hurting, to wipe away their tears, and to heal their wounds.

For the innocent lives lost to abortion, we entrust them to Your loving care. We pray for repentance and healing for those who have been involved in this sin, that they may find forgiveness and restoration in Christ. For those who have suffered miscarriage or the loss of a child, we ask for Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard their hearts and minds.

For those who have been abandoned, we declare that You will never leave them nor forsake them. Provide for their needs, Lord, and surround them with Your love and protection. For those who feel like beggars without refuge, we pray that they would find their shelter in You, the Rock of their salvation.

We break every chain of despair, generational curses, and destruction in the name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against Your children shall prosper, and that You will restore what has been lost. Turn their mourning into joy, Lord, and let them experience Your goodness and mercy every day of their lives.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above all names, the only Name by which we can be saved. Amen.

We hear how heavy this burden feels for you, and how much you are carrying for others. You came as a beggar before God for mercy, for those who feel abandoned and alone, for wives and husbands and children without a home or family to take them in, and for unborn little ones who are not welcomed or protected. That kind of intercession comes from a tender heart, and we thank you for bringing it to the Lord so honestly.

It is a lot to hold, especially when you see suffering everywhere and feel there is no refuge nearby for you or for those you are praying for. Grief and loneliness affect each person differently, and there is no single way it should look or feel. Please know you do not have to carry all of this sorrow by yourself. If you have a pastor or a trusted community of believers nearby, we encourage you to let them sit with you in this, so you are not isolated under the weight of these prayers.

We are joining you in prayer now.

Father, in Jesus' name we ask for Your mercy to rest on every child and every person who feels forsaken and without shelter. Show them they are seen and valued by You, and lead them to safe, caring help and community. Comfort the writer too in this heavy intercession, give him rest and steady companionship, and guide his steps day by day. Amen.

Your prayer lays before the Lord a great desolation, the abandonment of wife and husband, of daughter and son, of sister and brother, of little children left alone, and of unborn babes despised and destroyed, and the cry for shelter and mercy where there is no house and no refuge to be found among men.

The Scripture you have quoted is a true word for such sorrow. Though my father and my mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me. Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb. Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee, saith the Lord. Our God is a God who can feel, and who pities as a father pities his children. He does not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men, but in all our distresses He takes His share. He hears the groans and wails of the forsaken, and the silent cry of the unborn, and He registers every wrong done to the helpless in His own archives.

There is a refuge provided under the law of God, and there is a greater Refuge provided under the gospel. The cities of refuge were set at a convenient distance from any part of the land, and where there were byroads and turns there were signposts with this word plainly visible upon them, Refuge, Refuge, pointing the way in which the guilty and pursued should flee. So there is but one Christ, yet there is a Christ everywhere, a true City of Refuge who preserves all those who flee to Him for mercy. Wherever you are, though the avenger of blood, the fiery law of God, pursues the transgressor, the way to Christ is plain. Sinner, this is the way, walk therein and you shall be saved. He knows Himself to be a great transgressor who flees there, and Christ receives him.

Therefore I entreat you not to sit still and fold your arms and say there is no refuge for me. That were folly indeed. Flee to Christ now, for the blood of Jesus Christ, God's dear Son, cleanses us from all sin. There is salvation in no other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.

Let us pray together. O God and Father, whose pity is like that of a father toward his children, look in mercy upon all who suffer abandonment and upon those who have no house, no family, no friend to receive them. Be Thou their dwelling place and their shelter. Have compassion upon the lonely children and upon every wife and husband, sister and brother and friend who has been betrayed and left alone. Provide for them a refuge, both temporal bread and shelter, and the eternal refuge which is Christ.

We entrust to Thy care the innocent unborn, those despised and hated by father or mother, those taken by abortion or miscarriage. Thou art the God who forms the child in the womb, and we ask Thy mercy for this great sin which cries against our generation. Forgive where there is guilt, heal where there is wounding, and receive these little ones into Thy keeping according to Thy perfect compassion and justice. Grant repentance where blood has been shed, for Thou hatest sin and didst not spare Thine own Son but delivered Him because of sin, and yet Thou hast shown Thy love most clearly in that bleeding sacrifice.

Bring all the forsaken to know that they are not forgotten, but are received when they flee to Jesus. Make Thy church to be as those signposts, ever crying Refuge, that the guilty and the grieving may know the way. Let Thy Spirit go with Thy Word, for without Him it is but wasted breath, but with Him souls are made Thy jewels.

We have heard your cry and we join you in bringing it before the Lord with sorrow and hope. You have prayed for those who suffer abandonment, for families torn apart, for wives and husbands, daughters and sons and friends left alone, for children without house or refuge, and for the unborn who are despised and rejected even by their own mother and father. God sees all of this, and none is forgotten by Him.

The Scripture you quoted is true and remains our comfort. Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me, Psalm 27:10. And again, can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne, yet even if she forgets, I will not forget you, Isaiah 49:15. When human love fails, the mercy of God does not fail. He is the Father to the fatherless and the refuge for the forsaken.

We pray now for mercy, and we ask it in the name of Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved. We entrust to God's care the innocent unborn who have died through abortion or miscarriage, asking Him in His great compassion to receive them. We do not ask God to bless the act that took their lives, for the taking of innocent life grieves Him, but we do ask for His mercy upon all who suffer under this burden, mothers and fathers, families and whole communities, that they may find forgiveness and healing through repentance and faith in Christ who shed His blood for sinners. Where there has been hardness of heart, may God grant a merciful heart instead.

We also pray for those who are abandoned and alone, the children without shelter, the brothers and sisters betrayed, the friend cast aside, those who beg for a house or even a place of refuge. May the Lord Himself be their shelter, and may He move His people to show mercy with open hands. Nothing is so characteristic of a Christian as mercy, and we obtain mercy only as we show mercy. As we have received mercy from God, so we are called to be merciful as our Father in heaven is merciful, to offer bread, shelter, welcome and prayer, to remember the poor and not to turn away.

May God forgive us where we have failed to love, and may He teach us to love more fully. May He comfort those who mourn, give refuge to those without a home, restore what has been broken in families according to His design, and guard the life of every child as precious in His sight. We ask that those who are wounded by abandonment would know they are not abandoned by God, and that the innocent would be safe in His hands.

We lay all of this before the Lord, trusting not in our own worth but in His great goodness and mercy, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Your prayer reflects a heavy burden for those who feel forsaken and for the most vulnerable among us, and God hears that cry. The pain of abandonment by family, by a wife or husband, by parents or children, by friends, and the pain of having no house or shelter to turn to, is real to Him. He also sees every unborn child, even those despised or rejected by mother or father, and His heart is not distant from them.

Scripture gives you the very promises you quoted. Though father and mother may forsake us, the Lord will receive us. The question is asked whether a mother can forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne, and the answer points to the Lord who will not forget. When refuge fails and no one seems to care for our soul, we can still cry to the Lord and say, You are my refuge and my portion in the land of the living. He hears when we are brought very low.

In the law God provided cities of refuge placed so that no one was far from safety, and a person in danger could run there and be protected until a fair hearing could be given. Those cities picture what Jesus Christ is for us now. He is our refuge. He is holy and He is near to all who call upon Him. As long as we remain in Him we are safe, and He invites the abandoned, the betrayed, the lonely, and the guilty to come under His protection. That refuge was not for those who acted with deliberate malice, yet in Christ mercy and truth meet together. At the cross righteousness and peace embrace, because the penalty for sin was paid by Jesus. So through Him God can be both just and merciful, forgiving those who turn to Him in repentance and faith.

God delights in mercy. His mercy endures forever. That phrase is repeated again and again because we need to hear it. The same God who created the heavens and stretched out the earth and made the sun to rule by day and the moon and stars by night is the God whose mercy is as high as the heavens are above the earth and from everlasting to everlasting. He is not looking for a reason to condemn but for a reason to forgive. When people turn and say, God, I am sorry, He is ready to show compassion. Mercy is not something we deserve or earn. He has mercy on whom He will have mercy, and we can thank Him that He has chosen to have mercy on us in Christ. Even when we feel we have exhausted His mercy, His mercy is still available to all who call upon Him. When we cry out of distress, even when the trouble has come by our own doing, He hears because His mercy endures forever.

So we entrust to Him every child lost through miscarriage or abortion, asking Him in His sovereign compassion to receive them into His care in heaven. We ask Him to be shelter for every child, sister, brother, and friend who is abandoned or betrayed and has nowhere to go. We ask Him to forgive, to heal, and to restore those who have taken part in what grieves Him, for His mercy can cover and cleanse through the blood of Jesus. And we ask Him to be the home and family for those who have none.

May you continue to bring these sorrows to Him, trusting salvation through Jesus Christ alone, who alone can give lasting refuge, forgiveness, and a hope that endures forever.
