We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up the suffering and turmoil caused by the shutdowns and conflicts affecting so many around the world. The chaos, financial strain, and loss of stability have left countless individuals and families in distress, and we stand in the gap for them, declaring that God is indeed sovereign over all authorities and nations. The Word of God reminds us in Romans 13:1, "Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God." Though earthly powers may act in ways that bring hardship, we trust that the Lord is working all things together for His purposes, even when we cannot see it.
We rebuke the spirit of fear, confusion, and despair that has taken hold of many during these times. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard the hearts and minds of those who are suffering. We pray for restoration—of finances, employment, dreams, and stability—knowing that the Lord is our provider and sustainer. Philippians 4:19 assures us, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."
Father, we lift up the victims of this turmoil—the families who have lost loved ones, those who have seen their livelihoods destroyed, and the ones whose dreams have been delayed or shattered. We ask that You would heal their hearts, mend their brokenness, and restore what has been lost. We pray for those who have been affected by bad intentions and evil schemes, that You would expose the darkness and bring justice. Let Your light shine in the midst of these tragedies, turning hearts toward You and revealing Your goodness even in suffering.
We also pray for the authorities responsible for these decisions. Soften their hearts, Lord, and grant them wisdom to govern with justice, mercy, and the fear of You. Proverbs 21:1 declares, "The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires." May they seek Your will and turn from any path that leads to harm for Your people.
For those who are struggling financially, we ask that You open doors of opportunity and provide in ways only You can. For those who have lost their jobs or faced cancellations, we pray for new beginnings and favor in their endeavors. For the poor and marginalized, we ask that You be their defender and provider, lifting them out of despair and into hope.
Lord Jesus, we acknowledge that You are the Prince of Peace, and we ask that You bring order where there is chaos, healing where there is pain, and restoration where there is loss. We stand on Your promise in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." May Your people find comfort in Your presence and trust in Your unfailing love.
We rebuke every spirit of division, strife, and hopelessness that seeks to take root in the hearts of those affected. We declare that the joy of the Lord is their strength (Nehemiah 8:10), and that they will rise above their circumstances with faith and perseverance. Let Your church be a beacon of hope, shining Your light into the darkness and extending Your love to those in need.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
