Negative energy

Disciple of Prayer
I stay with my ex Girlfriend and her roommate ### and ### has been some of the causes of my breakup with ###. The relationship me and ### had was toxic and draining because of her so called friends she had/has around Jealousy played a big part in all of it. Lord I’m praying on fixing my relationship with ### but all the extra people that’s around in our business needs to be removed. I also admit my wrongs but lord I’m willing to fix my relationship and just be happy with ### if she just stop thinking everyone is her friends.

We hear your heart and the pain you’re carrying from this toxic situation. First, we must address the serious biblical concerns in your request. You mention living with your ex-girlfriend and her roommate, and while we understand the desire for reconciliation, Scripture is clear that sexual immorality—including fornication (sex outside of marriage)—is sin (1 Corinthians 6:18, Hebrews 13:4). If this living arrangement involves any sexual relationship outside of marriage, it must be repented of and ended immediately, as it grieves the Holy Spirit and invites spiritual oppression.

The Bible also warns against jealousy and toxic influences. Proverbs 13:20 says, *"He who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm."* If her "friends" are stirring up strife, division, or jealousy, they are not true friends but rather tools of the enemy to destroy what God intends for good. We must rebuke the spirit of jealousy and deception in Jesus' name, for where there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there is disorder and every evil practice (James 3:16).

However, we must also ask: Are you and your ex-girlfriend both believers in Jesus Christ? If not, 2 Corinthians 6:14 warns, *"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"* Reconciliation should only be pursued if both of you are committed to Christ and His Word, seeking godly counsel, and willing to honor Him in your relationship.

If you are both believers, then we must examine whether this relationship is truly God’s will. Marriage is a sacred covenant, not to be entered lightly or out of loneliness or emotional dependence (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:6). If this relationship is to be restored, it must be rebuilt on Christ’s foundation—with repentance, forgiveness, and a commitment to purity and godly boundaries. That may mean separate living arrangements until marriage, cutting off ungodly influences, and seeking accountability from mature believers.

We also notice that your prayer does not mention Jesus by name. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father (John 14:6), and without Him, our prayers lack power. If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and receive Him as your Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9-10). Only then can you walk in true victory and discern God’s will for your life.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and through which we have access to You. Lord, we lift up this situation before You, asking for Your wisdom, healing, and deliverance. We rebuke the spirit of jealousy, strife, and division that has infiltrated this relationship, and we command it to flee in Jesus’ name. We ask You to reveal any areas of sin—whether it be fornication, unforgiveness, or ungodly influences—and grant true repentance and a desire to walk in purity and holiness.

Father, if it is Your will for this relationship to be restored, we ask that You would purify it and make it a reflection of Christ and the Church. Remove every ungodly influence, every voice that speaks against Your Word, and every spirit that seeks to destroy what You desire to build. Help them both to seek You first, to walk in obedience to Your Word, and to surround themselves with godly counsel. If this relationship is not of You, Lord, we ask that You would close the door and lead them both into Your perfect will, even if it is separate paths.

We pray for healing from the pain and toxicity of the past. Fill them with Your peace, Your love, and Your truth. Help them to forgive one another and to release any bitterness or resentment. Teach them to love as You love—selflessly, sacrificially, and purely. If marriage is Your plan for them, prepare them both to be godly spouses who honor You in all things.

Lord, we also pray for salvation if either of them does not know You. Draw them to Yourself, reveal Your Son Jesus Christ to them, and save them by Your grace. May they walk in the freedom and victory that only comes through a personal relationship with You.

We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We break every curse, every generational stronghold, and every assignment of the enemy over their lives and this relationship. We loose the spirit of wisdom, discernment, and unity in Jesus’ name.

Father, we trust You to work all things together for their good, for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). May Your will be done in their lives, and may Your name be glorified. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to seek godly counsel from a pastor or mature Christian couple who can walk with you through this season. Surround yourself with believers who will speak truth into your life and hold you accountable. Remember, God’s timing is perfect, and His plans for you are for good, not for harm, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Trust in Him, lean not on your own understanding, and in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

We hear your heart's cry, dear friend, and we're here to stand with you in this challenging time. We understand the longing for reconciliation, but it's crucial to ensure it aligns with God's will and His Word. Living with your ex-girlfriend and her roommate, especially if it involves a sexual relationship outside of marriage, is not in line with biblical teachings (1 Corinthians 6:18, Hebrews 13:4). We encourage you to repent and make changes immediately to honor God and protect your spiritual well-being.

Jealousy and toxic influences from her friends must also be addressed. Proverbs 13:20 warns that walking with wise men brings wisdom, but companions of fools suffer harm. If her friends are stirring up strife or jealousy, they are not true friends but tools of the enemy. We must rebuke the spirit of jealousy and deception in Jesus' name, for where there is jealousy, there is disorder and every evil practice (James 3:16).
