Beloved of All
We have heard your request and your burden for your family in this season of financial need, and we are praying for you.
God sees and knows what you lack. He understands poverty. When Jesus came into this world He was born into a poor family, so poor that at the presentation required by the law His mother could only offer the provision allowed for the poor, a pair of turtle doves instead of a lamb. He knows what it is to have little in this world.
Above every material need is the need of the soul, and we want to remind you that God has provided one way for sin and guilt to be put away, through the death of His only Son Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit bears witness to this truth in the heart. If you have not already done so, turn to Jesus alone for forgiveness and eternal life, for there is no other provision God has made, either in this life or the life to come.
For those who belong to Jesus, God has brought us into a new family. The bond we have as the family of God is deeper than even blood ties, because it is through Christ. That means you are not alone in this trial. The church is one family, and when one member suffers all suffer together, and when one is helped all share the joy. We are standing with you as family and asking God to provide for you.
Scripture shows us that God is able to provide even when things look impossible. Under the law God even made a rule for the cleansing of a leper, though leprosy was incurable, leaving room for Himself to work a miracle if He chose. Give Him room to work in your situation as well.
The Bible also teaches us about handling lack. The believers in Macedonia gave generously to help others even while they themselves were in deep poverty and great affliction, and they did so out of the abundance of their joy in the Lord. And Proverbs teaches that the generous soul will be made rich, that one who scatters may yet increase while one who withholds may come to poverty, and that he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed. The prophet Haggai showed the people that when they put their own interests before God they earned wages only to put them in a bag with holes, and he called them to put God first and bring the first fruits of their increase to Him.
We pray that God will meet your daily needs, give you wisdom for each decision, provide work and provision, and fill your heart with His peace and joy even in this trial. We pray that you will keep putting Him first, trusting Him with what you have, and that you will experience His faithful care as your Father. May the Lord supply what you need according to His riches in Christ, strengthen your family, and draw each of you closer to Himself.
