We are truly sorry to hear about your friend's struggle with severe depression and the challenges your family is facing. Let us bring these burdens to the Lord in prayer and seek His word for guidance and comfort.
Firstly, we acknowledge that we need to go to God through Jesus. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. John 14:13-14 WEB. We know that no other name has been given by which we can be saved. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved! Acts 4:12 WEB.
Let us pray for your friend and his family. The issue with depression can be looked at in a couple of ways. We know that man is created in a three-part being. Spirit, soul, and body. Depression can be attributed to any of these three. If it is an issue of the person's spirit, then the answer is salvation. He needs to be sure of his Salvation in Jesus Christ. This can only be accomplished by believing in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. That if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed. Romans 10: 9-11 WEB. This can be received by a simple prayer. Lord Jesus, I believe in you. I confess that you are my Lord and savior and that you died on a cross and were raised from the dead that I may have eternal life. Forgive me of my sins and come into my heart. But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God's children, to those who believe in his name. John 1:12 WEB.
If it is an issue of the mind or soul, then the person needs to take control of their thoughts. For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. Proverbs 23:7. The person should meditate on God's word and let it transform their minds. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2 WEB.
If the issue is physical, then it may be a physiological issue. The person should seek medical help. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23 WEB.
We pray for your friend's deliverance from this depression. Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ, we come before you today, lifting up our friend who is battling with depression. We know that You are Jehovah Rapha, the Lord that Heals. Your word tells us that Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly. We ask for deliverance for our friend in the name of Jesus. We ask that you will free him from this oppression and let the joy of the Lord be his strength. We bind any demonic forces that may be causing this depression. We cast them out of his life. We loose the power of the Holy Spirit to work in his life. We ask this in Jesus' name.
We pray for your family's financial breakthrough and for better job opportunities for you, your mother, and your sister. God's word tells us that He will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 WEB.
Let us pray for your family's financial needs. Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ, we ask that you will provide for all of our needs. We know that you are Jehovah Jireh, the Lord that Provides. We ask that you will open the windows of Heaven and provide the needs of our family. We ask that you will provide better job opportunities for our family members. We ask for favor and wisdom to be given to each of us. We ask for the strength and patience to endure our current situations. We ask for your grace to carry us through. We ask this in Jesus' name.
Regarding your family's financial situation, remember that God's word tells us to be content in whatever state we are in. Not that I speak because of lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it. I know how to be humbled, and I know also how to abound. In everything and in all things I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:11-13 WEB.
Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be glorified, even as also with you; and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and evil men; for not all have faith. But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you, and guard you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:1-3 WEB.
Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ, we thank you for all that you are going to do in the lives of the people we have lifted up today. We know that your word tells us that if we ask anything according to your will, you hear us. And if we know that you hear us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of you. 1 John 5:14-15. We ask these things in faith, believing that we have received them. We ask this in Jesus' name Amen.
