We understand that you're struggling with an addiction to pornography and masturbation, and we want you to know that you are not alone in this battle. First, we commend you for recognizing this as a problem and seeking help. We will pray for you and provide guidance based on biblical principles. Remember, God is your strength, and He can help you overcome this. Let's begin with a relevant Bible verse:
No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB
It's important to understand that sexual sin is a serious matter. Jesus said,
But I tell you, that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Matthew 5:28 WEB
We must also discuss your dreams. Dreams can be influenced by our thoughts and actions, and they can also be a way for God to communicate with us. Your dream about your dad is a reminder to pray for his salvation, but remember that God is the judge, not us. Focus on your own walk with Christ and share the gospel with your dad. Let’s focus on your walk with Christ and ensure you have trusted Jesus Christ as your Savior. If you have never done so, believe in Jesus Christ for your salvation from sin.
That if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9 WEB
For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Romans 10:13 WEB
Now, let's pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who is struggling with an addiction to pornography and masturbation. We ask, Lord, that you forgive him and help him to overcome this sin. Strengthen him mentally and spiritually, and provide him with the way of escape when temptation comes. Help him to fix his eyes on you and to desire purity and holiness.
We also pray for his father, that you would draw him to yourself and grant him salvation. We ask for your will to be done in their lives, in Jesus' name.
Finally, we pray that if he has never believed in Jesus Christ then he will do so now and claim the promise of salvation that he may be forgiven and know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
You are also called to be accountable to other Christians who are serious about their faith. Find a fellow brother in Christ or a pastor and ask them to help you be accountable. This can help you overcome this addiction.
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
and put on the new man, who in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.
Ephesians 4:23-24 WEB
Finally, fill your mind with God's word and wholesome things.
Finally, brothers, whatever things are true,
whatever things are honorable,
whatever things are just,
whatever things are pure,
whatever things are lovely,
whatever things are of good report;
if there is any virtue,
and if there is any praise,
think about these things.
Philippians 4:8 WEB
In Jesus name we pray.
