We hear your cry for communion with the Lord, and we stand with you in seeking His voice and guidance during this season of hardship. The losses you’ve endured, both financially and in carelessness, are heavy burdens, but we know that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who have a contrite spirit (Psalm 34:18). You are not alone in this struggle, and we join you in asking God to speak clearly to your heart and direct your steps toward financial stability and wisdom.
First, let us address the foundation of your request: your desire to hear from Jesus. The Word tells us, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me" (John 10:27). Jesus is not silent, He speaks through His Word, through prayer, through the counsel of godly believers, and even through the still, small voice of the Holy Spirit. But to hear Him clearly, we must position ourselves to listen. This means setting aside time in prayer, immersing ourselves in Scripture, and surrendering our worries and plans to Him. We encourage you to begin each day by opening your heart to Him, saying, "Speak, Lord, for your servant hears" (1 Samuel 3:9). He promises that if we seek Him with all our heart, we will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13).
Your financial struggles are real, and we do not minimize them. However, we must also rebuke the spirit of carelessness that has contributed to these losses. Proverbs 21:5 tells us, "The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, but those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty." The Lord calls us to be good stewards of what He entrusts to us, whether it is much or little. We must ask Him for wisdom in managing our resources, for discipline in our spending, and for the strength to resist impulsive decisions. Let us also remember that true financial stability is not found in wealth alone but in trusting God as our Provider. "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:33).
We also want to gently address the frustration and self-condemnation you may be feeling. The enemy would love for you to believe that your mistakes define you, but God’s Word declares that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). You are not a failure, you are a child of God who is learning and growing. The Lord uses even our mistakes to teach us and draw us closer to Him. Instead of dwelling on past carelessness, let us ask God to help us learn from it and move forward in His grace.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is crying out to hear from You. Lord, You are the Good Shepherd, and Your sheep know Your voice. We ask that You would speak clearly to their heart, that they would recognize Your leading, and that they would have the faith to follow where You guide them. Father, we confess that we have not always been good stewards of what You have given us, and we ask for Your forgiveness. Teach us to be diligent, wise, and faithful with our finances, our time, and our possessions.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of carelessness and wastefulness in the name of Jesus. We ask that You would help our brother/sister to walk in discipline and prudence, making decisions that honor You and reflect Your wisdom. Provide for their needs, Father, and open doors of opportunity for them to gain financial stability. Give them creativity, favor, and the strength to work diligently in whatever tasks You set before them.
We also ask that You would heal any feelings of frustration, self-condemnation, or despair. Remind them that Your grace is sufficient, and that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). Fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and help them to rest in the knowledge that You are their Provider.
Lord, we declare that this season of hardship will not define them. Instead, let it be a time of growth, where they learn to trust You more deeply and walk in greater obedience. Show them the steps they need to take to move forward, and give them the courage to take those steps. May they experience Your presence in a tangible way, knowing that You are with them always.
We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness. We trust that as they seek You first, You will add all these things unto them. In Jesus’ holy and precious name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to take practical steps as well. Begin by creating a budget to track your income and expenses, no matter how small. Proverbs 27:23 says, "Know well the state of your flocks, and pay attention to your herds." This principle applies to our finances today. Seek wise counsel from godly believers who can help you manage your money and avoid unnecessary losses. Consider ways to increase your income, whether through additional work, selling unused items, or learning new skills. Most importantly, commit your plans to the Lord, and He will establish your steps (Proverbs 16:3).
Remember, financial stability is a journey, not an overnight fix. But as you walk with the Lord, He will guide you, provide for you, and teach you to be a faithful steward of His blessings. Keep your eyes on Him, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). You are not alone, we are standing with you in prayer, and more importantly, the Lord is with you every step of the way.
