Need To Be Closer To God? Here's How

If you are/feel distant from God and want time to spend with Him, ask Him to bring you to a quiet desert area to be closer to Him by reading your Bible, praying, fasting, and worshiping. Even Jesus left the crowd sometimes to be alone with His Father. He went to a quiet place alone to pray when John the Baptist died; in the garden of Gethsemane, He was away from the crowd and left His 12 disciples to go and pray alone. Though His disciples were in the garden with Him, He went into a quiet part of the garden to pray before He was arrested. Led by the Holy Spirit, He went into a quiet desert to fast for forty days on the last days. On His last day of fast, He was tempted by Satan. (Matthew 4:1-2; Mark 1:12; Luke 4:1-2) God Himself says He will bring us to a quiet place to spend time with Him where He will speak to us. (Hosea 2:14) God wants you to read His word, worship Him, and pray and fast, and if you don't have time to do it, ask Him to bring you closer to Him to a quiet desert area. Give God some of your time.

The word of God declares, when we seek him with their whole heart we shall find him. For a broken spirit and a contrite heart he will not despise. Lord, may you draw us closer to yourself and grant us the power to resist satan in all our ways. We pray for you give us a hunger and thirst for your presence and word in the name of Jesus Christ.
