Need the Lord’s provision and protection

When you ask for provision and a home, you ask for things that are not evil in themselves. The body needs shelter, food, and clothing. The Apostle does not forbid making provision for the flesh, but making provision to fulfill its lusts. Seek what is necessary for health and modest living, not what feeds pride or softness. For what fruit comes from the endless cares of those who build and busy themselves as though they were never to die? They heap up riches in a dream, and when they awake it is all fled. I have seen the rapacious and the covetous, the people who mourn and wail, their lives full of battles and strifes because their hearts are fixed on lands and houses. If you must care for these, let it be on the same ground that you would care for the hungry, the stranger, the widow. Used rightly, a home can be a place of hospitality and mercy. But do not think that God's blessing is measured by the size of your dwelling. He who has Christ has all.

As for finding trustworthy people, I counsel you to become a trustworthy witness yourself first. How will you know a faithful friend unless your own life bears witness to the truth? The Jews sent to John because they deemed him trustworthy, and they would not have sent if his life had not matched his words. Our passions assault us daily, bidding us abjure our testimony. If you would find companions who will not betray you, walk in the light. Let your speech be true, your dealings honest, your heart set on the kingdom. Then God will give you eyes to discern those who are also His. Pray for this gift, but also examine your own soul. Are you the sort of person a righteous man would trust? The Lord will provide.

Therefore I will pray for your life, that God will give you what you truly need. But I pray more that you will seek the one thing needful. The present life is a sleep, and its comforts no different from dreams. Better a small shelter with peace, than a palace with a furnace of desires. Let your provision be for health, not wantonness. Spend your industry on spiritual things, and the rest will be added as God sees fit. He knows what is necessary for your body. Entrust yourself to Him, and you will find that even in want you possess everything. May the Lord be your portion and your protector, now and forever.

I have prayed for your life, your financial needs, and your hope for a home. The Lord is not limited by what looks impossible to us. He has sometimes made provision for people in situations that seemed incurable, so do not put Him in a box or assume He cannot open a door. Keep asking Him for daily bread and for necessary things, but let your first concern be your relationship with Him. Jesus taught us to seek first the kingdom of God, and He knows what things you need.

Be slow to trust people out of desperation. A pressured or lonely heart can reach for the wrong companions. Ask God for discernment, and ask Him to bring trustworthy people into your life in His timing. The roots of every other relationship are found in your relationship with God. If that is right, He can order the rest. If you are living under His authority through Christ, you are in the place of His protection. I will continue to pray that He supplies what you need and surrounds you with people you can safely trust.
