NEED SUPPORT

Humble Prayer Partner
I know that God is a good god. I am trying so hard to do better with my life but the more I go to church take communion read my Bible the more stressors come and I am trying my best to do good in life. I have the same problems that I prayed for for many years and I am trying so very hard that God will help me cope with these things. Even though I do not have pranks in my yard anymore since I've had the cameras, I still have a distrustful neighbor that I suspected had something to do with some of those pranks a few years ago. Tonight my camera went off and my trusted neighbor that I like very well that has a dog was standing in the center of my yard tonight with the distrustful neighbors. It bothers me so bad when they are in my yard. And I prayed so hard for those distrustful neighbors to stay out of my yard but yet The more I've prayed about it the more it happens. I'm trying. And the guy ### that I was supposed to go out with on Sunday but I didn't hear from him until Sunday night and then jump to conclusions Monday and said that I wanted to end things. But for some reason even though I initially thought that he was lying to me, I thought about times where I've been falsely accused of things and I have not slept in three nights. Hopefully I can sleep better tonight because I reached out and sent an apology to him. It was if God led me to send a text message to send an apology even if I knew the guy was wrong or right. I don't know if he was telling the truth or not but I know that I did not feel right in my spirit not letting another go day go by not saying anything with an apology. I ask that you pray that God will send me a miracle and send me a really good Christian Dependable man. I don't know if it is the guy that I've seen the last couple of weeks that I call things off with or I don't know if God has someone else in mind but I'm very tired of being single

We hear your heart and we join with you in seeking God's will together in Jesus' name. We know how wearying it is when you are trying so hard to do what is right, going to church, taking communion, reading your Bible, and yet the stressors seem to increase and the same burdens remain year after year. We want to encourage you that God is indeed good, and He sees your faithfulness, but He does not promise that doing these good disciplines will immediately remove trials. In fact His word says Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:2-4. And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28. Communion and reading Scripture are precious because they draw us to Jesus, not because they earn us a problem free life, for it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast. Ephesians 2:8-9.

We understand how distressing the situation with your neighbors has been. Years of pranks and now the anxiety when anyone stands in your yard, especially those you have learned to distrust, can rob you of peace at home. We gently rebuke the spirit of fear and suspicion that keeps you on edge, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7. We also encourage you to guard your heart against assuming the worst. It is wise to have cameras and boundaries, but we are also called to love our neighbors and so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. Romans 12:18. If it is possible to have a calm and kind conversation about property boundaries, that can be honoring to God. And we are called to love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. Matthew 5:44. We will pray that God gives you discernment, protects your home, and replaces distrust with His peace that surpasses all understanding and will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7.

We also hear your weariness about being single and your desire for a really good Christian dependable man, and your confusion and sleeplessness over the man you have been seeing. We commend you for listening to the Holy Spirit and sending an apology even when you were unsure who was right. That is obedience to what we are taught to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32. And If therefore you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. Matthew 5:23-24. We do want to lovingly correct the pattern of jumping to conclusions and ending things quickly. He who answers before he hears, that is folly and shame to him. Proverbs 18:13. Let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger. James 1:19. In courtship we encourage you to move slowly, with clear communication and with the goal of discerning marriage, not simply companionship. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and being a boyfriend or girlfriend should be considered courtship with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity. 2 Corinthians 6:14. We will pray that if this man is a faithful believer who will honor you and pursue marriage in purity, God will make it clear, and if not, that God will close the door and lead you to a godly husband who will love you as Christ loves the church. We strongly endorse marriage when it honors God, and we encourage you in any courtship to flee sexual immorality. 1 Corinthians 6:18. For marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled. Hebrews 13:4. Sex before or outside of marriage is fornication and does not align with God's will, so we encourage you to keep any relationship pure and accountable.

We noticed you speak often of God and prayer, but you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your request. We say this in love because it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is through believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are forgiven and can come boldly to God. If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9. For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16. We encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus not only as helper but as Savior and Lord, and to pray in His name.

We also want to pray for your sleep and your exhaustion. You have not slept in three nights and you are tired of carrying these burdens alone. Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7. We remember the promise In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety. Psalm 4:8. And Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28.

We pray together now.

Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You that You are good and that You see our sister as she seeks to do better and to walk faithfully. We ask You to lift the heavy stress she carries and to teach her to trust You with all her heart and not lean on her own understanding, to acknowledge You in all her ways so You will direct her paths. Proverbs 3:5-6. Give her Your peace that guards her heart, help her to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let her requests be made known to You. Philippians 4:6-7. We pray for her home and her neighbors, protect her property, soften hearts, help her to set healthy boundaries while showing Christ's love, and let no weapon formed against her prosper. Grant her restful sleep tonight, for You give sleep to Your beloved. Psalm 127:2. For the relationship, we ask for clarity and forgiveness, heal any hurt from hasty words, and give wisdom to both. If this man is not the dependable Christian husband You have for her, we ask You to make it clear and to guard her from settling. If he is, lead them in a pure courtship toward a marriage that honors You. Above all we pray You will bring a godly, dependable Christian husband in Your perfect timing, for we know You have plans for peace and not for evil, to give hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11. Help her to delight herself in You while she waits. Psalm 37:4. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior. Amen.

Thank you for sharing so honestly with us. We hear how hard you have been trying to walk faithfully and do what is right, and how discouraging it feels when the same stresses remain and even seem to increase.

It makes sense that having neighbors in your yard would leave you feeling unsettled, especially after past pranks, even though the cameras have helped. It is also understandable that the situation with this man has weighed on you. Reaching out to apologize when your spirit felt unsettled took humility, and waiting without knowing how he will respond, while going three nights without good sleep, would leave anyone feeling worn down and anxious. And we hear your deeper longing underneath it all, you are tired of being single and you long for a dependable, faithful Christian husband.

When worry and poor sleep build up they tend to feed each other and make every other concern feel heavier. If the sleeplessness and the sense of being wound up continue, we encourage you to talk with your pastor and also with your doctor or a counselor in person, alongside prayer, so someone who knows you can support you directly.

We are grateful you reached out and we will keep praying for you for rest, for wisdom about boundaries with your neighbors, and for clear direction in relationships.

Father, we lift our sister to You. You see how hard she is trying and how tired she feels. Grant her peaceful sleep, calm her heart, give her wisdom for each relationship and each next step, and remind her she is not alone. Lead her in Your good way. In Jesus' name, amen.

The heart that seeks the Lord and yet feels the pressure increase is not forgotten by Him. You tell us that the more you have attended to the means of grace, the more the stressors have multiplied, and that prayers long offered seem still unanswered. This is a common trial of the saints, and it does not mean that God has turned from you.

Have you not found that the very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. You are in a great hurry to do something or other and that something or other does more mischief than could possibly have happened if you had kept still, resting in the Lord and waiting patiently for Him. Your reading and your coming to the table are precious, yet they do not purchase His favor. Salvation and acceptance are through Jesus Christ alone, who died the Just for the unjust that He might bring us to God. Rest not in the act of reading or communing, but in the Person who is set forth therein.

You speak also of sleeplessness and a troubled spirit concerning neighbours and concerning a man you have lately known. Let this whisper drive away despair. There is forgiveness with God. It is a divine forgiveness, I even I am He that blotteth out thy transgressions, and it is surprising forgiveness and complete forgiveness, and it is to be had now through the blood of Christ. If you have trembled with a penitent heart and desired forgiveness, hear the certainty of the word, There is forgiveness with Thee. Where God draws no limit, do not you draw any. Whatever your sins have been, there is forgiveness with Him, and He continues daily to forgive. Take this to your own soul first, that you may know yourself fully pardoned in Christ, and then you will find strength to practice that joint work of mutual forgiveness, forgiving one another even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. This is the Lord's release, and it frees the creditor as well as the debtor.

Concerning your neighbours, it is understandable that to see those you distrust standing in your yard should stir fear and anger. Great love for home and peace has that dangerous neighbour jealousy not far off. Yet pray that the Lord will keep your heart from being consumed by suspicion. Ask Him to give you wisdom to guard what is yours with quiet prudence, to do no harm, to speak no evil, and to commit your dwelling to His watch. He who sees the camera and the yard sees also your heart, and He can give you sleep when you lie down.

Concerning the man you mention, I hear your weariness in being single and your desire for a dependable Christian husband. Your apology after hasty words was meek and right, for we who have received so much manifest forgiveness ought to find it natural to open our hands to forgive and to seek peace where we have offended. Whether this particular man is the one God would have for you or not, I cannot know, but I will pray that the Lord will lead you in His holy way. Marriage as God has ordained it is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all that belongs to the intimacy of husband and wife belongs only within that covenant. Pray not merely for a companion to ease loneliness, but for a man who loves Christ above all, who will love as Christ loved His spouse and gave Himself for her, with a love that is special and particular and set apart. And pray also that whether the Lord grants marriage or calls you to serve Him in singleness for a season, He will make you content and pure and steadfast, keeping yourself unto His will and waiting patiently for His timing rather than hastening in anxiety.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, with whom there is forgiveness, look upon this weary and anxious soul. For Christ's sake blot out transgression and speak peace to the conscience. Thou hast promised that there is forgiveness with Thee that Thou mayest be feared, grant faith to receive it and to rest in Jesus alone for salvation. Quiet the troubled thoughts that banish sleep, and help this Thy child to rest in Thee and wait patiently for Thee. Guard the home and give wisdom and charity toward neighbours, that bitterness may not take root. Forgive as Thou hast been forgiven, and teach the release which Thou callest Thine own. And concerning marriage, grant guidance, purity, and contentment. If it be Thy will, provide a faithful Christian man who walks with Christ and will honour the covenant of marriage as Thou hast ordained it, one man with one woman for life. If not, be Thyself the portion and keep the heart in holiness until Thou shalt order otherwise. Make the path plain and keep this soul from hasty steps, but settled upon Christ the sure foundation. In Jesus' name, Amen.
