We hear your cry and we join with you in bringing every one of these needs before our Lord Jesus, for we know He hears us when we call upon His name and we are comforted that you have come to Him in faith.

We are encouraged by your desire for His presence and comfort and for a clean heart and body, and we stand with you in asking Him to supply what you need and to help you in your work. Scripture reminds us, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19, and Fear you not, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. We also cling to His promise to forgive and to cleanse, for If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9, and we pray with the psalmist, Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me Psalm 51:10. For healing and restoration we remember, Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:2-3, and we trust that while He does not promise we will never face illness or difficulty in this life, He does promise to be our comforter and healer and to work all things for our good as we walk with Him, and He invites us, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28.

We also lift up your work and the difficulties you face there. We pray that God will give you wisdom, strength and diligence, and that you will find purpose in laboring for Him, for Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. We ask not only that all would go smoothly by our own measure, but that God would make your work fruitful according to His perfect will and that He would be glorified in all you do, and we trust Him to guide your hands and to give you peace even when the work is hard.

We pray together now, Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, and we thank You that we have access to Your throne of grace through Him alone. We ask You to be near to our dear one, to comfort and uphold them every day and every moment, to supply all their needs according to Your riches in glory, and to grant health and strength according to Your will. Forgive all their debts and guilt as they confess before You, wash their heart and body and make them clean by the blood of Jesus, and renew a right spirit within them. Assist them in all their difficult work, give them wisdom, endurance and favor, and let all they do go well as You direct their steps. Help them to rest in Your presence and to trust Your goodness in every circumstance. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus, amen.

We hear how much you are carrying in this prayer, and how sincerely you want Jesus near you in all of it. You started by asking for His comfort and presence, and for Him to supply what you need, to give health, to help with difficult work, to forgive and make your heart and body clean. Those are honest, deep longings and we are glad you brought them to Him directly.

It makes sense to want work to go well all the time and to feel well every moment, especially when work feels heavy. What we have found is that God's care shows itself not only by smoothing every task, but by staying with us through the hard tasks, giving wisdom for the next step and strength to keep going when things don't go as planned.

When there is a lot on your mind at once, it can help to narrow it for a day at a time. In the morning you might name the one or two most pressing parts of your work and quietly ask the Lord for help with just those, and if the burden of guilt or debts feels heavy, talking it through with a trusted pastor or mature believer can bring clarity and peace alongside prayer.

Jesus, thank You for this friend who is calling on Your name. Draw near and give comfort today. Provide for daily needs, grant health and strength according to Your will, give wisdom and steadiness in difficult work, and wash and renew heart and body by Your mercy. Lead in each step ahead. Your prayer for the Lord Jesus to be with you has been heard and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace. You have asked for comfort, for daily health, for supply in every need, for help in difficult work, for forgiveness of debts and guilt, and for a clean heart and body, and we bring each of these petitions to our merciful Saviour.

First we rejoice that you seek forgiveness above all. Scripture sets before us the man lying in the Presence of Jesus hoping and expecting forgiveness and healing, and then shows us the forgiveness itself given in one sentence, Thy sins are forgiven thee. This is a divine forgiveness, for the Lord himself says, I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions. It is a surprising forgiveness, so surprising that it is repeated lest any should doubt it, and it is a complete forgiveness. It does not require years to perfect the work of salvation, for such is the wonder working power of Christ that it can be done in a moment when received by faith. As in the days of Luther when a brother said to him, believe in the forgiveness of sins for yourself, so we say to you, believe in the forgiveness of sins for yourself through Jesus Christ alone. There is forgiveness with God, whatever your sins may have been, and however sinful your life has been until now, there is forgiveness for you if you trust in him. The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses from all sin.

With forgiveness comes cleansing, and you have well asked to be made clean in heart and body. There is a fountain opened for sin and for uncleanness, and God himself applies this cleansing, saying, I will sprinkle clean water upon you and ye shall be clean. This is not a partial cleansing and it is not to be had by our own moralities or charities or large gifts, which can never form an ointment to cleanse iniquity. When the soul learns to mourn before the Cross, then it shall perceive that there is cleansing from sin, and that cleansing is perfect and complete because Christ has finished his work and brought in everlasting righteousness. He came first to finish transgression and to make an end of sins and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and then to set up righteousness. Trust him who hung upon the tree to redeem his people and to sanctify you wholly by his Spirit, and he will purify you till every spot and wrinkle is gone, and there will follow a great change of conduct as his Spirit continues his work until you are made meet to dwell with God in his light.

You ask also for comfort and for daily supply and health and for help in all your work. The Lord says, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God, and full oft he sends comfort to the desponding heart with tearful eye and aching spirit. A Christian in an uncomfortable state cannot work for God as he ought, for bruised reeds give little music, but when the mind has been made comfortable he will work ten times better. He who comforts will also supply, for every good gift comes from his hand. Concerning health and daily needs and the difficulties of your labour, we are taught to pray without ceasing. It was never the design of the Lord that our throats and tongues should be forever at work with audible language alone, but that the heart should pray continually. Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it. It is vain to rise up early and sit up late and eat the bread of carefulness without God, for without him you cannot prosper in business or in common work. Therefore pray as long as you work, and work as you pray, committing every task into his hands. You are always in danger of being tempted and you are always in need of his help, so pray without ceasing, asking his blessing upon every effort and trusting his wise and loving providence to give health and strength and success as seems best to his infinite goodness, and to give grace sufficient for every trial when otherwise appointed.

We now pray for you. O Lord Jesus Christ, be present with this soul and speak comfort to the aching heart. Forgive all debts and guilt through thy precious blood and let this one know the joy of sins forgiven. Sprinkle clean water upon heart and body and make clean by thy Spirit according to thy covenant promise. Richly supply all needs according to thy riches in glory, grant health and strength as thou seest fit for every day and every moment, and give help in all difficult work, that it may be done faithfully and well for thy glory. Keep this one praying without ceasing and abiding in thee. In thy name we ask, Amen.
